Adding magnets to your 3D prints
Переглядів 4,6 тис.2 роки тому
Welcome 3D paint! Today I'm going to show you how to add magnets to your 3D prints. If you’re doing large 3d prints you print them in pieces. Now you could just glue the pieces together, but if you have to move it or to make it easier to paint, add magnets to your 3d print. It's a great way to make your resin 3d print a little more professional. I'm working on a Harley Quinn model with multiple...
Trying out Vallejo liquid mask
Переглядів 3,2 тис.2 роки тому
Welcome 3D paint! Today I wanted to try out Vallejo liquid mask. I seen it used several times but never tried it myself. I got it on sale on amazon for $13 and thought I see if it would make masking out for airbrushing easier. I use silly putty usually or painters tap to masking out for airbrushing. I'm going to use my experiment project Rogue. I messed up the paint on her chest so thought this...

How did you get it that smooth on fdm??
Primer filler spray and print big
could you give me paints links
How and what are you using to vent your work space that's probably been my biggest hang up from getting into this as a hobby. Thanks in Adcance.
I have a studio, so I drilled a hole through the wall and bought one of those $100 airbrush stations. It also came with a way to just vented out the window. That might be the way you wanna go. They’re on Amazon take a look at them. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the tutorial! You do great work!!
Thanks man I needed that today!
You should do more of these videos
I appreciate that. I will soon. Just hard because I’m working two jobs right now.
where did you download the stl for the color cup?
It's Iwata Neo not Neon...
Would you recommend adding the magnets before or after painting
Before painting so you could hide them…. And don’t mess up your pain work.
I have a PLA print from FDM machine, and when I paint it with a airbrush the color does not adhere to the product and becomes like water. is there a solution? Note that if I increase the percentage of paint in airbrush, nothing will come out of the airbrush. Sorry I'm new to this so I have a lot of questions 😂. Thank you.
Learning about this stuff today. Are you using a primer?
Did you prime the PLA?
I don't know if you've already figured out the answer to your question, I would say use the XTC - 3-D epoxy mix, it's supposed to fill in all the print lines and all that stuff so you can prime and then airbrush to your hearts content lol
Just got into 3d printing & airbrushing. I too am about to use liquid mask for the 1st time. Thanks for the advice!
Glad I could help.
Buy come contact paper that dental technician use to determine where it isnt fitting without taking too much off.
Nice dude, might have to try hulk myself, 👍🏻 Keep up the vids mate, more content and grow your channel 😃🙏🏻
Thanks, great job
Thanks really appreciate it.
have you tried to make a resin magnetic with adding iron dust in it?
do you use primer for 3d resin prints?
Yes!
Great job man
Thanks!
Very nice!
Great video just a thought but it may be better to use milliput to hold the magnets in there. Probably less chance of dropping one in there aswell 😂
Very true… actually been using hot glue. Fill up the whole first. Lol
Wood toothpicks work well for getting it out of crevasses without scratching the paint. Also a wet brush helps get it loose so long as that wont mess with your paint itself (usually does not but test an easily repairable out of the way spot first)
Thank you for the advice. I’ll give it a try.
Love your vids! Thank you! Has been so helpful!
Thanks! really appreciate that.
Is it always from dark to light colour? Or is it depends on miniature itself?
Sometimes it’s opposite depending on the pains.
