Well, here it is. I've been saying the devs seemingly enjoy enjoy Xenoblade because the combat is very reminiscent of that, but I didn't know they outright said it. It's great.

@@Nattidati I agree with you about needing to have a refreshing take. Endfield adds base building as a core element to the game. And that alone has me hooked cause of how well incorporated it is to the rest of the game. I feel that the developers here have put a ton of effort into making a great player experience above all else. I found myself just having fun exploring and finding new and cool things the game had to offer. This game is especially friendly to those that never picked up a gacha game before, since the level of importance for that is lessen by design. Now that might change on release, but it really feels that the gacha has taken a back seat here !

If we want gachas to be illegal, then we may as well petition Japan to ban gachapon machines that inspired the whole gacha genre, pachinkos, horse gamblings, and other unique JP forms of gambling

@ Yes, make gambling illegal, save people's lives. What a stupid take was that? The whole traditional gambling world only exists for the same reason as gaming lootboxes exist. The people with slot machines, casinos, sports betting, etc. are all so insanely rich nowadays, the politicians are getting too much money to care about the fact that gambling is one of the leading reasons for private insolvency in the world. If losing out on gacha means that the world is a better place, then I will gladly drop Genshin, WuWa, GFL and whatnot...

​@@Giovansbilly All of the gachas people are talking about in the comment section are Chinese though. Japanese gachas are like FGO, Granblue Fantasy, BanG Dream, Colourful Stage, Idolm@ster, all of which are mostly 2D. Japan's greatest devs are in the console game market so the gachas are cash-grabby.

​@@Nattidati If you can't change the whole world, why not change your own world? You can have the world with no gamble if you don't come near it. You said all that but if you're still playing those gachas that's just make you a hypocrite. Firts step to make the world better is you yourself to not taking a part in their business. Either you quit those gacha game or accept being called hypocrite.

I know a few people were disappointed with no mobile testing with this beta. I do see the next beta having console support. The game runs REALLY well already on PC. Which is incredibly refreshing given the current state of games.

I think the alpha was over a year ago. The release number with the beta test puts it at a 0.5. Usually releases are listed as 1.0. With that information I would guess that the release date would be around Q2 2026 with another Beta test in Q4 2025. Just speculation.

I think it depends if you are an OG AK player. If you are coming from any other gacha, AK Endfield is pretty good! Its three step up above Hoyoverse games and their rates. If you a previous AK player, the changes are >the guarantee being 120 from 150 >the rate being .8% from 2% > Soft pity being 65 from 50 The 120 guarantee alone is really great since you can save mats for the next character if you don't win the initial 50/50. Also, you don't have to worry about the weapon banner either! Its a different resource that you get from doing regular pulls. Ultimately, there is pros and cons with this, but I didn't feel cheated and it didn't lessen my experience when I didn't get the character I wanted. Pity system aside, the base building is going to be nuts.

pity is indeed a bit harsh however, in both arknights games dupes do not matter. examples would be, it will only increase attack by flat 50 (not even percentage) or makes skill activate by 1.5 sec faster so you would only ever need 1 copy of the character that and new character banners get put into the permanent banner after the rate up so you wont need to wait for say a yr just to get that character

@ To me, it does feel really fair especially with the characters going back into standard. Spending 120 pulls guaranteed for a character you want is great. Needing only one copy, transferring to standard banner after, and not having a weapon banner gives this pity system weight as to why it is formatted that way.

@@SkyRainpuff I'll gladly take 120 pulls over 180, don't care about the fantasy of "oh, but you might get it early", also not a person to get dupes so it doesn't bother me losing the guarantee after I get the character.

They also mentioned that the concept of Kal'tsit as an immortal who has lived for thousands of years was inspired by that film about a man who has lived for thousands of years and appeared as various figures in history

And the entire landship/moving cities is basically that one movie that I forgot

In CN, they had a collab with the China Film Archive and one of the Skins for the operator Nian included a bunch of Arknights characters in iconic movie scenes like Truman Show, Forrest Gump, Sound of Music, The Godfather and many more. They are definitely huge fan of films, a wide variety of them.

@@SkyRainpuff the leavatein banner gonna change to yvonne, and laevatein are still in the 0.8% featured 6* on yvonne banner making it clear none of them are truly limited, they pretty much just follow the OG AK gacha system, the algorhtm gamemode is the only endgame so far so it would take some time reaching that mode but the reward is true, the value of the rate up weapon should be 1% (4% base 6* rate with 25/75)which is higher than other gacha, also adding that the dupe of character does not change their kit nor make a huge jump if you max dupe like other 3D RPG gacha making them less enticed to get even for spender, its a nice stat amps but nothing more

i forgot about the duplicates! I didn’t remember cause they didn’t change the overall gameplay to me. That tracks with what you’re saying. Also yeah the weapon banner to me seems pretty fair. Especially since you can focus the mats on a specific weapon. How stats work in this game deserves its own video. The featured banner gives half of the 6* rate to the featured unit. So you’re saying that there adding a second unit to the 0.4% featured rate? Or are they pushing Laevatein to the standard 0.4% with ember and the rest?
