Barney Miller Theme Redux

Barney Miller theme season 3 recreated by Eric and Dennis. One of the greatest TV themes of all time. Eric and I want to post a video on all the great musical lessons you can learn from a succinct 45 seconds of killer music. The team that composed and recorded the original did not waste a single note. The original was created by Allyn Ferguson and Jack Elliot. Allyn's son Dan Ferguson played th...

You Dont Get Me To Kick Around No More - Cover Version collaboration with the great Matt Farley!

You Dont Get Me To Kick Around No More - I created a 'punk rock' cover version of the great song You Don't Get Me To Kick Around No More by The Big Heist. Matt Farley was kind enough to record the vocals for this. Check out the excellent MO75 album by The Big Heist on Spotify here: open.spotify.com/album/57fcGRbxRM8xXD2blEH2Fr?si=pzvm79kcQNCWV73LW8aPsQ

Solid koa or laminate?
Laminate
I've been using Karaoke Backing Track for a couple of years. It's great for learning individual parts & for creating your own versions. And it's cheap! Love it. Fortunately, I don't get the buzzing noise that's evident on your piece. What's causing it?
❤🎉👍🎸
Thanks for the video. How are you connecting to PA/FOH when playing live? Also, have you added a guide track to your backing tracks (vocal instructions, count-ins, etc…)?
I just use a 4 beat count-in. No vocal instructions or anything like that. And when I play live, I don’t use backing tracks. I play thru an amp with a live band. This is just what allows us all to keep our chops up when we can’t rehearse together.

Which kind of strings?
barney miller ...you are the man!!!
Japan made?
I think so, but I'm not sure, I sold it a few years ago.
Yes.
Hi, very nice playing!! May I ask how it sounds acoustically/unplugged? Thanks
Thank you. That recording is acoustic. But I can add that it is a bright but balanced sounding guitar. Somewhere between a Martin and a Taylor.
Thanks for the prompt reply and I appreciate it. Takamine usually lacks the bass response and this led me to sell couple of them. I hope this all Koa will give me a good bass response.
@@saadalkhafaji435 good luck if you get one. I sold this one for exactly that reason. Not enough bass response. I replaced it with a Guild F-50 and that guitar had a killer bass response. Very happy with it.
Very happy to hear that you found the guitar that satisfies your your need for a real bass tone. My eyes now are on Yamaha LL16 ARE with rosewood back and sides. I tried it and found the tone phenomenal. It has an excellent bass response and very harmonious overall tone. Will most likely buy it instead of of the Takamine.
@@saadalkhafaji435 Yamaha guitars are the real deal. I had one and regret selling it. Good luck with! I’d love to hear how you like it!
I would really like to download your template
Sorry for the delay Jerry, you should be able to download at this link. Let me know if it doesn't work for you: drive.google.com/file/d/1szfHi51NuPlN8sJWYhKu837i5NPRRZrH/view?usp=sharing

Your link ultimateopenmic.com/wp-content doesn't work
Hi
Sounds amazing dennis!! That guitar can do it all, and you covered almost every genre. Nice playing as well.
Hi Dennis, I’m looking for the link to the “empty backing track” download that you are working with. Thanks, Rick
Same I couldn't get to it
Sweet!
Thanks for listening Mitch!
Hey man great video and great backing tracks if you need any recording and mixing tips I do a lot of mixing and recording tips on my channel so keep up the great work and keep making great music keep the good work up
Awesome! Great vibe!
Jma Mitch thank you! Releasing music can be heartbreaking, so any listens and encouraging comments are appreciated!
Great video. I would be very interested on how you would go about making a backing track for worship setting where you use cues and a click track. I can only presume that you would use the midi track for the click track. Yes? I too use a Helix and have Helix Native plugin for Logic.
Hey thanks Jerry. Yes I would use the midi track for the click, but only route it through the monitor. And preferably in ear monitors at that.
@@dennistm6059 Used your method and it worked GREAT! Thanks!
