Our Mission: Confront Dangerous Errors (Titus 1:10-16)
In this sermon we will continue our study of the mission of the church in Titus 1:10-16. In this passage, Paul challenges us to confront dangerous errors that often try to worm their way into the church. We must fight for the truth that our salvation is based on faith alone and there is nothing we can (or need to) add to it. At the same time, God holds us accountable to live out that truth by living for Him.
As you prepare for the message, please read the passage and ask yourself,
"Why is it important to fight/stand up for the truth of salvation?"
"What difference does that truth make in your life?"

Переглядів 1214 днів тому
The Apostle Paul challenges our church to raise up godly leaders in Titus 1:5-9. Elders are one example of those kinds of leaders, but every believer should aspire to grow in spiritual maturity. As you prepare for the message, please read the passage and ask yourself," Am I growing in my love for the Lord?" "Do I lead/inspire others to know/worship Him?" "Does my character reflect my relationsh...

As you prepare for the message, please read the passage and ask yourself, "How did I come to know God's truth?" "How does knowing that truth ma...

In this sermon, we'll skip ahead to Luke 2:22-40, when baby Jesus is presented at the temple. Two senior saints (Simeon and Anna) have been longing to see the Messiah and in this story, their hopes are fulfilled. Jesus was and will be the fulfillment of our hopes as well. This Christmas, we can trust in Him. Where have I seen God keep His promises? How can I wait for God to fulfill my hopes?
The Merciful Hope of Christmas (Luke 1:57-80)
Переглядів 24Місяць тому
In this sermon we look at how God showed His mercy to His people through the birth of John the Baptist in Luke 1:57-80. He showed mercy on Elizabeth and Zechariah by giving them a child and He showed mercy on His people by sending John to prepare the way for the Savior, Jesus Christ. God continues to treat us far better than we deserve and show us mercy today. How have a seen God's mercy in my ...

In this sermon, ESBC member and seminary student Stephen Howard preaches. He'll share about Mary the mother of Jesus from Luke 1:26-38. This passage will help us see that God chose to enter the world through an unlikely person from an unremarkable place. The angel Gabriel's announcement to Mary describes the Savior foretold by the prophets and demonstrates that nothing is impossible with God. W...

Life can often feel discouraging. When we are in the middle of those discouraging times, it can be tempting to succumb to hopelessness. Through the story of Zechariah in Luke 1:5-25, we can discover that the good news of Jesus provides Hope for the Hopeless. When am I tempted to feel discouraged or hopeless? How can Jesus be a source of hope to those who feel hopeless?
What To Do After The Election (Colossians 4:2-6)
Переглядів 252 місяці тому
The 2024 election is only a few days away. Maybe you think about it with excitement, anxiety, or relief that the political ads will stop. In this sermon, Colossians 4:2-6 will remind us that while elections are important, the daily decisions that we make to live for Christ are more important. Believers should daily decide to pray, share the good news, and walk in wisdom toward non-believers. Wh...
Together Again At Last (Exodus 40)
Переглядів 333 місяці тому
In this sermon we will finish the book of Exodus with Chapter 40. The last few verses of the chapter in particular show us how God rescued His people from slavery in Egypt so that they could be in His presence. This is like how He rescues us today from our slavery to sin. God came to live with His people in the tabernacle, just like Jesus came to live with us as a human. God's presence travels ...
More Than Enough for the Work (Exodus 35-39)
Переглядів 213 місяці тому
In this sermon we will look at how God's people built a place to be with and worship Him in Exodus 35-39. In particular, we'll focus on 35:4-36:7 where Moses challenges the people to give to God's work. In response, they give more than what is needed. Do I value God's work (and what He has done for me in Jesus Christ) that I give like that?

Who is Jesus??? That's EASY!! > > He's God & Savior...The Alpha & Omega..The Almighty John 1:1-14; Titus 2:13; 1 Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Revelation 1:1-9
So beautifully poignant, clarity given and reverential reflection in truly God's sanctuary. May all anticipating celebrating Dia de Gracias, Thanksgiving - noting the indigenous people of Americas, but also all of us who are believing in our Savior, note that we are given a precious terra natural on Earth in lieu of our eternal Kingdom of our Almighty. As we may feel we are a roaming tribe, we are identified, anointed and aware of the Via Dolorosa, Way of the Cross that we willingly accept to bind ourselves to the love of God. Sweet Jesus, I pray in You, Amen.
?
Magnificent revelation of Christ. Tranquility, reflective joy. Heavenly Father Almighty, extend abounding guidance, protection to ESBC in its entirety, pastor, deacons, musicians, missionaries, supportive staff ensemble and all believing congregation in Christ Holy Name, Amen.

Another osas eisegete twisting scripture
Jesus was Jewish. Jesus taught gods law , Jesus kept gods law and commandments . The Jewish Apostols kept gods law and commandments ( by Faith in Christ) ,, The churches over the centuries did away with gods law , and mostly did not keep gods biblcal commandments . Namely breaking gods sabbath commandment . The Law ( God's Torah law ) first five books in your Bible. Gentiles have ( gods Torah law in thier Bible) , Jesus did not abolish gods Torah law or the prophets . We are under the New Covenant Law. Gods law is now in christ..

Very clear sermon on heart issues. Thanked God for this. 🙏❤
Great sermon. This has to be one of the best sermons that I've heard on Eternal Security. I do believe in Eternal Security but the way it was presented and explained really blessed me.
Thank you God for Your truth. Thank you Pastor John for the Word on what is your foundation. God bless you!
''soul'' in Matthew 10:28 means ''life''
Heavenly father, in complete agreement with this message I bind the promise of to strive for what lies ahead and citizenship of heaven according to philippians 3:12-4:1, 2 corinthians 6:14, John 15:16, john 14:15, matthew 5:48, hebrews 12:1-2, 1 kings 8:61, psalm 90:12, John 16:13, matthew 6:24, ephesians 6:12, matthew 16:25, James 4:7, John 15:13 in my life, the lives of those in need and the lives of my enemies with lasting fruit that abides, in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, loosening all that does not strives for citizenship towards heaven and comes against abiding fruit in my and one's life upon no return in my life, as well loosening aside all sin and weight of sin for the sake of Christ, binding to be fully committed with one's heart to obey all God his commandments, loosening all that is not fully committed to God his commandments at all times, binding to make the best out of all days and time that has been given, binding to lose one's life for the sake of Christ in order to find life by resisting the devil at all times, loosening all that does not resist the devil upon no return in my life, amen and hallelujah!

Thank you Lord for giving us an excellent Pastor who, as Paul did, loves his “peeps” and keeps us in his prayers always! 🤗💖
Thankful to the Lord that Pastor John can come to us with HIS message regardless of what the world throws at us! Great message John!! No matter the circumstances in our lives God has given us the GRACE to have joy in ALL situations! 😇🙏💖✨
For me this verse of Jonah 1 shows Gods will always find a way to fulfill his will and put someone at the right track when one tries to restore the faith and dont ignore the calling. God has humor also by letting Jonah escape and than catching him. God bless, in the name, by the blood and under the feet of Christ. Annelies.
Great inspirational message. I feel so blessed and learn much more clarification about the principles of Christianity. Good sound doctrine.
ua-cam.com/video/hVHSGM6b_Kk/v-deo.html. I invite you to check this commentary out about Jonah it is one of the best I’ve ever seen. There is so much more than the fish swallowing Jonah being a type of Christ in the grave and resurrection
Thanks for enlightenment. Indeed God is like a hound seeking lost ones. God bless you. I came to your site because I'm writing a novel about Jonah and trying to improve it. Among other things I proposed a theory about how Jonah could survive in the stomach of the great fish in chapter II. Indeed if God is really Almighty he sd be able to work evolution. Hope you will give a look at it. p.booklog.jp/book/72551/read p.booklog.jp/book/102046/read p.booklog.jp/book/72552/read p.booklog.jp/book/100631/read p.booklog.jp/book/111158/read p.booklog.jp/book/100632/read
