I got this precon and graveyard overdrive from modern horizons, also new to MTG

Bought this pre-con and It is undeniably one of the best experiences I’ve had with a Pre-Con. I already had quite a few of the cards in it but good lord it is fun to play. Enchantments are my favorite permanent and it’s nice to play something other than Simic or Naya :)

IMO those glittery showcases look awful on the screen...not sure if they look better in person but 1 it looks like a copy of pokemon and 2 it's bland as hell.

Were these cards really "beloved"? I have heard very mixed thoughts on jeweled lotus, and i have never heard anything but negative opinions on the other 3. They were staples because they were powerful, not because they were fun.

If the only argument against a banning is "it costs me money on the secondary market" then there is no argument against it. Rules should never be informed by cost. And while we're at it, get rid of the reserve list.

Nothing needs to be changed. The rules committee shouldn't ban or avoid banning based on how much stuff is worth on the secondary market. These cards were oppressively common in every competitive cedh deck, their scarcity made competing against them unfair and not fun, and while there's other cards that do similar things like sol ring and gilded lotus, removing these specific ones (and hopefully similar things like it in the future) slows games down overall (a good thing) and makes competitive play less about which wallet jockey has the most money to throw into a deck

I think it's a bust. So let's say each player has a significant board state at a turn where 8 mana is available to you. So that's 8 mana to destroy and gain control of 3 creatures per player, which are going to be the 3 worst creatures each player controls. That's a lot of investment for a nor fantastic upside. If it specified hogest power/ highest cmc that might be interesting. The only slot it's going to flow into is taxes and creatureless stax builds,

Bulk rare. Hard core. Anything that wants sacs will get it through everything else thats infinitely better.

Original Meathook was a multi format all star and very versatile. The effect is stronger at more mana, and it will see play absolutely nowhere but commander, and I think that makes the second one much worse overall.
