Psychosis | Jimmy Kleffel
This is a track from a currently untitled album in the making that is not "Sympathy for the Devil". The album, much like many of my albums isn't necessarily a concept album but is conceptual and thematic. This track will appear later on the album, as it progresses through various stages and themes.
The speaker is a radio host who many decades ago read a lawyer named Frances E. Dec's schizophrenic writing on air. A time that was in part far less aware of mental health issues. This is one of a number of rants, but perfectly illustrates a stage of paranoia and losing ones mind, and is fascinating in so many ways.
I cut out almost all of the background sounds and music from the radio show and made my own. I've really come to love the theremin, in which I often use in tandem with a pick scraping technique on guitar.
The intro is long, but I love it. It works fantastically as a little ebb and flow for the overall album.
Actively engaging on my videos will help make these songs more visible and get to those who may be inspired by them. I will continue to upload more, and some new and different stuff along the way. More coming from this album as well. Thank you for listening!

Instrumental from my album "Sympathy for the Devil". I will release the full instrumental album soon. Hopefully soon after, the album with vocals. If you are here for my remasters, I have a number coming soon too. I greatly appreciate any engagement on my videos. Not to become a youtuber, but rather just want my stuff spread to those who may appreciate it. Thank you, and enjoy!

This is an instrumental "demo" of a song from my album "Sympathy for the Devil". My partner Abbey did the female vocals in the back half of the track. She is the girl in the picture. The earlier vocals are a mellotron, as I try to use period and theme appropriate instruments and the mellotron is one of the coolest instruments ever. (Same instrument used in songs like Exit Music by Radiohead). T...

I painstakingly edited together both versions of Stengah from Meshuggahs two releases of Nothing. Original 2002 and Remastered 2006. I planned on doing the whole album, but I went about this so seriously (I didn't just overlay them) but used very in depth audio work (a ton of mid-side processing and such) to create as much of a cohesive sound as possible of the two. Part of the reason I did thi...

These songs were curated and remastered from various sources of soundboard and audience recordings around the release of Tool's Ænima. The first track, Die Eier Von Satan, I added a touch of the percussion from the album as it was pretty drowned out. The live album mostly consists of tracks from the Kalamazoo show in 1998. Pushit and Third Eye are consciously left off seeing as the live album p...

Music, video, lyrics, recording and editing by Jimmy Kleffel. The video is a few shots I took while on a trip for something neat to look at. Felt fitting at parts. This is one of my favorite songs I ever did. Still working on a final master for it. At it's most basic, it's about the golden rule, to treat others as you wish to be treated...but with a twist. I wrote this song 9 years ago when I was 17. I decided to make a cleaner more mature version of it recently. This song is one of my more radio friendly songs, but still retains a pretty darkness. I'm working on adding some smooth lead guitar licks in spots, so I may switch it over then if I like it. Enjoy!

Dude I can't believe it you know who Francis Dec is ?? Holy shit He was impossibly correct about many many things he said.. Edit. I love this of more of your music is like this Im hooked instantly!!; I'm really sad you believe that they said he was insane he was a frenetic writer. if you read what he wrote and change the words for current times it's absolutely what is happening now..

Haha dude I was obsessed with his writings for a bit. And don't be too sad. I put him in the song for a reason. I try to balance things out, I find a lot of what he said very interesting no matter what. There's honestly kind of a lot of interesting stuff people say that are deemed insane. He was definitely a brilliant guy, without a doubt. And yep... it's in my song largely due to the relevancy today and my personal experiences with ptsd related paranoia.. I don't know where I stand on a lot of things. I just take them for what they are and let others decide. I put his words back out into the world, and just wrote out the other side of the story for people who want to know. Im glad you are connecting with everything. Haha. I love music does this.

@@JimmyKlef I absolutely agree with you about music it's phenomenal to the say the least that people from all walks of life and all types of experiences can connect with music. I didn't mean to imply you actually thought he was dismmissable because ov whatever disorder/mental illness he may or may nor have had I mental illness unfortunately so I cannot judge anyone for their disorders. But I guess due to whatever reasons it rubs me the wrong way if anything is said or implied slightly wrong or with disinformation because I feel like it could cause someone to get the wrong impression or ideals about someone or something that could be important and that it would be dismissed because of those factors makes me feel scared for them and not that you can save anyone or even tell them something they don't already think or believe but if the information is presented in a way with nothing whatsoever added other that what it already was then they can decide for their selves if it useful factual or something to be dismissed for their own reasons. If that makes sense? I actually was in disbelief when I heard his writing being read at the intro. I first heard of about him when I looked into writers whom were considered insane. I cannot think of his name there was a school janitim the 50s who wrote the most unbelievable stories about all sorts of things like 800 pages you should look at some of what he wrote he made his own books from random papers and string etc glued things together he may have been bonkers? but it's fascinating never the less. Sorta scary also the jest is it's about a children's world/realm I don't remember exactly. I listened to your other tracks featuring your lady she is amazing! You better tell/show her all your love and compassion/ kindness. She deserves it as do you my brother. Oh I believe you I have the most bizarre paranoia not all consumed but sometimes it's incredibly loud about the strangest things and for no reason other than overactive imagination and whatever mental illness creeps in when everything gets quiet. I appreciate you bringing Francis Dec back to public eye if people can hear his words and change them to contemporary speaking they will see it's exactly what is happening now. Like scary accurate being as he wrote those things 70? Years ago. I also agree there is many things people have said and writings that are incredibly fascinating and possibly true or at least in parts true today more than ever. What is your zodiac btw? Just curious it helps me understand on a deeper level musically/or traits/beliefs. I am the overlord Pisces cusp with Aquarius duality Maximus the interplay with others is incredibly fascinating my lady is the Maximus libra cusp with Scorpio. The interplay between us is too much for most people they get devoured by the gears locking and interlocking. 😂 It's a trip to say the least.

If you've never listened to vampire rodents youve gotta check it out!! Its totally our jam the tracks on CLOCKSEED. VOICES IN THE WALL. many more even his other band named ETHER-BUNNY are different but equally as strange and appealing i dont really know the names but ive not dove as deep into those as of yet. The VR discography is 100s of hours. Ide definitely recommend starting with clockseed. But anywhere in his catalog is great the main reason i mentioned it hes one man band too.

Haha thanks man i’m really glad you’re following! Yea I love Mr. Bungle. I have a strange relationship with them where some friends showed them to me maybe almost ten years ago and I liked it so much that i have been slowly digesting it since. I usually become somewhat obsessive of bands I love but something inside tells me to take it slow with them. Savoring it probably. Lol. Their music is so dense it makes sense. Thanks for the recommendation. I need a few new things to check out! They sound really interesting, ill try to come back to this comment and let you know. And on remasters… yep, i had a really crazy hard few years (who hasn’t?) but i have gotten enough shows done again that I want to make it a compilation like my Undertow and Aenima tours videos. Lol, so i have Tool Denver 2002 freshly remastered (it will be the best available by far), Toledo 2012 done, Reno 2014, Bojangles 2016, and Des Moines 2019. All sound great. I think I may do a switcharoo and just upload the shows really soon instead of waiting until i finish a few other shows as to make the compilation versions later so we don’t have to wait longer. I think it makes sense. I just hope i find good enough artwork i can use for the images. So check back soon! As for my music… boy do i have a fucking ton more where this came from. Thanks for appreciating what i have uploaded. If you like this there’s a lot more like it and a ton that spans all kinds of different flavors. I’ve been an accidentally reclusive prolific writer for about two decades. Had some hard drive mishaps that threw my work into disarray. But i’m changing all of that. Thanks again for checking it out!

@@JimmyKlef fantastic I'm stoked already I've seen most of not all those tool lives but the quality isn't good usually but if you know all the songs it is still great to experience since I've not made it to a tool live concert and we all know time is running out. They are getting older and more tired which yeah they are all early 60s now it's really a struggle for me to accept but time rolls on with or without you.. tool has been such a huge part of my life it's gotta be really sad once they start to die it'll be Danny first he's closer to 70 and he's been a drummer since before green jello. And mjk was their second bassist that's all over 30 years ago and I listened to them then. I'm 42 now it's been really interesting journey. Your welcome I really think vampire rodents is going to blow your mind. It best described as wall of sounds. It's all on YT his channel is RODENTDENTIA PRODUCTIONS. That's great you've been writing for 20 years that's a vast catalog you've compiled yourself. The other one I was trying to think of is called gravities rim. For me clockseed aforementioned and lullabyland is another great album are a tryptic. Yeah brother I'm really interested to hear what you think about them. I also agree you should go slow with bungle mikes vocal range is 6 octaves. Also on that note you should check out another of his bands called Tomahawk specifically odd fellows album another one is like a 60s lounge singer vibe called Mondo Cain. Not really my jam but you may enjoy it. Yes really strange and emotional couple of years since the last time we spoke in depth my grandmother died me and my mother got in a car wreck I think it made her cancer worse. She died about a year and half ago. But I'm not sad about it she had cancer since I was a child. I'm happy for her she for to escape the pain. I got in a bad wreck Feb 26th 5 days after my birthday destroyed my truck still waiting on insurance to pay out. Then about two weeks after that I was walking down the same road I live on (as wreck) and some clown hit me in arm with his truck and knocked me down a ditch I thought it was broken but just really bashed up. All that was really ALOT. but I'm getting better every day. I'm actually in the 2)3 percent of heath over 40 in America I am 6 foot 2 wear a size 30 jeans it's been a 20 plus years process to save myself from misery as you age. All the aging related illness and general sickness people get I am immune to it. Exercise eat food that's one thing rain and sunshine veggies low fat meats and lots of calories. That's how I survived the wreck. Anyway thanks for listening I consider you are a true long distance friend James. I hope the events in your life are better or getting better every day. Unfortunately there isn’t. To be clear, there was but i did this a long time ago and had it stored two places, one crashed due to unforeseeable circumstances a while back and the other was almost certainly stolen or something. I only luckily still had the 320 mp3s lodged somewhere safer. That being said, at some point i will do them again as i absolutely love doing it and tend to get better over time. I still love how well i managed to remaster these, but i think i can out do it soon. Already started but im wild with how much work i put into it so i wont promise a timeframe. I have a number of things in the works and even done already, and will come with a lossless download link. So it will probably be some other stuff first and soonish. And then i will start revisiting some of the things i did but lost the full quality for to make up for it. I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’ll get my butt back into gear again!

Excellent audio! Quick question: why Crawl Away is not included?

    • @JimmyKlef
      @JimmyKlef 3 місяці тому

That’s genuinely a good question. The answer is honestly that i do not remember exactly, as i had done this actually a couple years before i even posted it. What i do know is that i do have a whole other “undertow era” album remastered i never uploaded and on it is a remastered “crawl away” from this era. My best guess is that back then i was still concerned with trying to make sure that these topped out at 80 minutes or so, so that if i would burn a disc it would fit… and that crawl away was played a little bit less often at the better recorded or performed shows. I probably did have it in originally though, as I remember trying to make sure i had a version of every song. It probably just got relegated to the second album for time reasons that no longer apply in our modern way of consuming music and such. Might be a good reason to start uploading more stuff again soon…

And so nobody feels crazy or like they have to tip toe... yes I did have to remaster the overall sound a little bit too. I would have loved to keep it as raw of a combo of both versions as humanly possible and I did... but if anyone knows about the guitar tones with these guys... and mid side processing, it would take a book to describe everything and all the reasons. We all know the two albums sound are very different. To keep it simple.. the most important thing was to have the most honest mix of the two as possible. The second most important thing was for it to be a listenable version. And basically... that's what this kind of work is. A lot of decision making and trade-offs. That's not to infer a whole lot was lost in my effort. It wasn't. But because I also mix and master music, after painstakingly combining the two in super in depth ways that only audio people would understand (it's like... absolute wild mid side processing stuff, I could probably write a book on).. there were issues leftover like the mids of the toms just absolutely dominating from the original. So, I found some of those things and pulled them back a bit. If it was better to use compression... I did (as in the way to do it with the least sacrifice) and if it was just better to, say, pull more mids out of the sides just to bring the overall balance of things more cohesive, I did... and to as little of a degree as possible. It's a whole-ass thing. I absolutely love it though. I did this one a couple years ago. I absolutely love doing work like this so anyone that may have any kind of audio work... I would love to start making it more of a job. Nothing is out of question. Be it your basement demos or you want a personalized remaster of your favorite bands album or some live show or whatever. I would love to make people happy, help people get better sounds and hopefully for me get my foot in the door or start making some more money with it. I'd love to be able to do this as my job. In fact, everyone I know is bewildered how it isn't my main job yet. So that's all to say... any audio work.... anything. Just hit me up and I can let you know what I can do. Otherwise... I know I'm being very Tool about my Tool remasters. Haha. Don't worry... they are coming too. I had some crazy life stuff for a few years, but now I will be able to do more and such. A current issue I am having is hard drive space. It requires about 50-100 free gigabytes of space just to basically run final cut with a 2 hour show in it. and because I do so much work like this I am constantly having space issues. That's the boring reality of why the Tool stuff didn't come out a few months back. BUT they are coming. It won't be a thirteen year wait. lol Thanks to everyone for checking it out. Keep coming back because by the end of next year this whole channel is going to have a lot more going on. Your patience will be worth it. (Also... I have made some pretty sick music myself... this channel doesn't currently really highlight that as it's like... years and years old stuff. But I have a feeling fans of Tool and Meshuggah and Radiohead and such are going to be happy once I finally put myself out there, my best stuff. So yea, stay tuned, and I won't even "like and subscribe" you guys. Fuck that. Music is the best thing in the world. Just love it with me or leave it. No worries. Happy holidays!

I haven't, no. Not for lack of wanting to share though, i just wouldn't know where to take them. I actually have a few more done and a few more in the works... just keep getting absolutely railed here in life but I won't be going anywhere. I'll be back to get these up and such. Life kind of keeps coming into focus and taking precedence. I know about Tool Drive (where I get my audio, perhaps obviously, for tool) but I am not aware of one for APC. I also attempted to contact tool drive once or twice about putting up my matrixes and never heard back. I assume it just got lost in the shuffle or they don't take certain things. I really don't know yet. Now, i definitely don't pay for youtube so I imagine I'm not alone in that. I have been figuring people probably download it from youtube (which works but definitely isn't flac or aiff or the best in terms of quality) so I would love to find a better way to get the full quality to folks. (Sorry for comment length) But if in the next few weeks or so I can't come up with anything else I will make a google drive or something similar and be putting them in the descriptions each time as to help with it. The only other thing I can think is using soulseek. I am on there... a lot of my work should be accessible through it. It would usually be titled with a (JMK Remaster) or something similar. JMK are my initials. I believe my user name on there is Starjelly08. I have been timid to give that out considering I have a number of shows finished already I haven't uploaded so be gentle. If you use soulseek, take anything you want... just don't upload them or anything as your own. I'd be trusting the internet here to do right by me (not super smart) but you will probably be the only one to see this comment for a while so you can definitely have at it. I have a number of phenomenal Tool remasters in there, and on the way. Some serious surprises. If you do end up finding me... look for Tool 2019 Des Moines... my version. It's there in mp3 and lossless. It sounds absolutely fucking spectacular. Probably my next upload if i can double check what the original recorders said can be done with it. Sometimes people get quite upset if you remaster and repost their recordings. I find that personally completely wrong... but I do understand the impulse. (such as... I couldn't imagine bootlegging a movie or, say, taking a picture of the mona lisa and being any kind of precious about the bootleg or the picture... and I have recorded a couple shows and just gave them to the world too) I still try to do right by them to as much of an extent as I can ... I just don't want to mess it up for everyone. But if you want to go digging for some serious gold until I get my shit together again... have at it. I'd love to be able to spread them around as much as possible. Thanks for listening and chatting. And loving great music too.

I already have a first attempt from some years ago at a few 2002 shows, one of which had alternate H. on it. I want to start uploading more stuff as soon as possible (having storage issues atm that will be fixed shortly). I wanted to make a patreon or cashapp at least for those willing to help out, as getting older means time is money more than before, but if you are serious, this is something I would be interested in trying out. If not, just wait a little while longer and I will probably end up uploading a number of remasters for free, hopefully soon. Let me know, and thanks for the support! Always glad to help add to the world of music and good times.

Thank you so much for this! I completely adore APC’s Thirteenth Step era of live shows, and masters of recordings of said shows are always a treat. The recorder/uploader of this audio (cpscps) has a UA-cam channel devoted to posting bootleg recordings of this sort. A standout recording of APC from this tour (Live in Pittsburgh, 11-18-03) is worth checking out (perhaps for some future mastering?): m.ua-cam.com/video/E_Of80JSvtA/v-deo.html&pp=ygUlYSBwZXJmZWN0IGNpcmNsZSAyMDAzIGxpdmUgcGl0dHNidXJnaA%3D%3D

That's amazing! Actually, part of the reason I wanted to spruce up these recordings was because I was supposed to go to this exact show. I was about 14 at the time, someone had an extra ticket and called me to see if I wanted to come, super last minute. Unfortunately my parents thought I was too young for a concert like this without adults and wasn't allowed to go. It would have been my first concert but I missed it. Absolutely love this era of APC. I always thought certain songs like The Package and The Noose were performed especially well at this time. Glad you enjoy it! Thanks for listening. I have more coming. Hidden gems, and really nicely remastered ones. Other bands too, I have some cool Radiohead stuff coming as well as some others people may be surprised. It's possible Lateralus tours may be next... I did some really incredible magic on some of those recordings. So I want to get it flat out fucking perfect before I put it up. I think Tool, Bojangles 2016 matrix / remaster may be next. In my opinion it has the definitive live new alternate Opiate and early Descending. It was a pretty nice IEM, but in mono and had some missing high end... but nobody had matrixed it with audience recording, I think because they were only on youtube. I managed to snag a couple audience captures and fit them in to fill in the gaps and it sounds great. I am listening to it right now, thinking it may be ready.

If anyone happens upon this video that would know... So of course the video was copyrighted and it was originally by Tool but now that I am looking at it it is copyrighted by some artist named "lord huron" who I have zero idea who that is and has absolutely nothing to do with these videos / recordings. I have no issue whatsoever with Tool taking the (tiny amount of) money these uploads might generate but it shouldn't be going to "lord huron" for sure especially not any credit... not before it goes to Tool or me anyway. Pissing me right off... as Tool are the geniuses here and what is bringing people to listen and I am the one who put in the time to remaster them. I am super not fluent in UA-cam so if anyone knows any way I can get the Tool team or UA-cam to properly give it back to Tool that would be great.

Thinking about it honestly the best way I would try to get ahold of mjk is though his multiple businesses in Jerome Arizona. That's his home base now. Good luck brother. Or YT is HQ in San Bruno California. This lord Huron is a indie band that's Like neckbeards and granny hats 🤣 I'm entirely confused what they have to do with copyright claims.
