HANAC PACHAP CUSSICUININ, la primera obra polifónica del "Nuevo Mundo", es un himno procesional en lengua quechua de estilo Barroco. Se trata de de uno de los himnos más antiguos a la Virgen María, en el que se pregunta a la Madre de Dios por el lugar que su Hijo reserva a los mortales en el Hanaq Pachap, el reino de los Cielos para los incas."Juan Pérez de Bocanegra (?1598 - fl. 1631), que era experto en lenguas indígenas, fue cantante de la Catedral de Cusco (Cuzco) y párroco en San Pedro de Andahuaylillas. La composición podría corresponder a un autor indio anónimo, pero en el libro, Bocanegra se atribuye la autoría de la música y la letra. Su mérito, en todo caso, es el registro y rescate para la posteridad de esta joya musical. 🔸Recomendó cantar este himno a la Virgen, mientras los fieles entraban a la Iglesia.
