Welcome to my crafty channel where I show how fun crafting and art can be and hope to inspire you to try something new!
Let’s face it, life is stressful. Crafting 🎨 and making 🧑🏻🎨 art are my therapy after a long stressful week. I am guilty of getting craft or art supplies that I’m not quite sure how to use, so I will share my videos of what I learn along the way. I love the magic of seeing art take shape. It’s so gratifying to make stuff…even if I don’t always know what I’m going to do with it. Card making has my heart. I have loved making cards since I was a kid, but I’d say there’s not a craft I haven’t tried or wouldn’t try. I also love Gelli plate printing and find it so fascinating how the results turn out so differently.
I sell some of my crafts on Etsy and Tedooo (a new marketplace platform full of crafty people). I sell digital prints of my favorite Gelli prints. Check them out if you like with my links.

Gelli Printed Star Ornament as Seen on Pinterest
This is the 3rd Gelli printed ornament in this mini series and for this ornament I picked a star for my yellow print. This was another Pinterest idea that looked really neat, but had minimal instructions which were also in German. I broke down each step and after having made two of them, I can say that they are actually a lot easier than I thought they would be.
Would you try this ornament? Tell me how you would use it! Thanks for watching!

Gelli Printed Poinsettia Ornament as Seen on Pinterest
Переглядів 1319 годин тому
In this series I am showing how I printed Holiday papers and turned them into ornaments that are inspired by Pinterest designs. I really liked the look of this poinsettia paper ornament and wanted to see if it was as easy as it looks. After my first time folding this, I can say that it really is easy. The one thing I would recommend is to use really strong adhesive. The Dollar Tree Double sided...

In this mini series, I am making 5 videos with 5 different ornaments made with Gelli prints. I am taking my inspiration from Pinterest and trying to recreate some of the really neat looking paper ornaments that I have been seeing. In this video I made a 3-D paper Christmas tree that can be used as an ornament or table top decor. Have you tried to make this tree before? If so, did you find the i...

Gelli Printing Nature Textures
Переглядів 29321 день тому
I am on vacation this week so I took some basic supplies to Gelli print some of the items I found in nature. There are so many Fall leave all around so I just had to Gelli print them and I found some other fun things like pine cones and acorns to print with. I decided to take my leaves home this way instead of taking the actual leaves. I hope you enjoy seeing how these prints develop into the f...
Freestyle Gelli Printing
Переглядів 30428 днів тому
In this video I just decided to have some freestyle playtime. I had some mushroom die cuts from a prior project that I cut out using my Silhouette Cameo. I used cheap craft paints and layers to create these prints. I was so happy with how the one with text on top turned out. I also love how the mushrooms look almost 3-D after adding a shadow using Alcohol ink markers. Let me know what you think...
Simple Steps to Digitize your Artwork or Gelli Prints

I turn my Gelli prints into digital files and sell them in my Etsy shop. I know there are lots of different ways to scan in/digitize prints and artwork, but I wanted to show you how I do mine. Let’s start with my printer. It is an HP DeskJet 3755 Compact All-in-One Wireless Printer, HP Instant Ink a.co/d/dB2ctnm. I got mine from Walmart about 5 years ago for $60. They are hard to find now and g...
Gelli Prints with Transparent Paints with BONUS - DIY Texture Roller

In this video I wanted to show you a different spin on making a DIY roller texture using a toilet paper roll. My spin on it shows how I used Spellbinders Glimmer Hot foil die cuts and plates to create texture on my diet cuts made from sticky backed craft foam. I also explore transparent paints and how they perform in layers on a Gelli plate. Watch and see the surprising results. Let me know in ...
Gelli Print Layers with DIY Leaf Masks
Переглядів 382Місяць тому
I know that some people don’t have that many stencils, textures or designs to add to the Gelli plate, so I wanted to show you how you can make your own leaf masks from copy paper. These can be as easy or detailed as you prefer and they can be whatever size you want. I decided to use my 5”x7” Gelli plate and blocked my Gelli print designs onto an 8.5” x 11” piece of 110lb Neenah White Cardstock....

Gelli Printing with Distress Oxide Inks
Переглядів 601Місяць тому
I love the coverage I get by using the Gelli plate to brayer out my Distress Oxide inks. I like to play with different textures and layer up the color for more intensity. One thing to keep in mind when using Distress Oxides or Distress Inks is that they will remain wet on the plate and brayer. When you change colors, the colors will blend unless you wipe them or wash them. For the Gelli plate, ...
Gelli Printed Bookmarks 🔖📘
Переглядів 201Місяць тому
I had picked up these stencils from Dollar Tree last year but had not had a chance to use them. I really liked how these long stencils looked like a bookmark, so that is what I made with them. I started with my 8”x10” Gel plate, put my stencils on with the words backwards and used my Perfect Pearls to capture the design and words. I made sure to extend my powder to the edges of the stencil. I u...
Create Stunning Gelli Prints with 🍁 Maple Leaves & 🎨 Golden Fluid Acrylics | Easy DIY Art Tutorial

I picked up three sizes of maple leaves and wanted to Gelli print with them while they were still fresh. I had tried Gelli printing with dried Maple leaves before, but found they were too brittle and broke as I was using them. As I was getting started, I realized I could use the large leaf to help press down on the smaller leaves. I used my Golden Fluid Acrylics on my 5”x7” Gelli plate. I recei...
Halloween Gelli Prints 🏚️🌕👻
Переглядів 2022 місяці тому
Now that it is officially Fall, I wanted to make some more Halloween Gelli Prints. I have lots of Halloween stamps, but I don’t like to use them with paints so I pressed them into my PlayDoh and voila, fun textures to play with. I also had some Halloween screen print stencils from probably 10 or more years ago that I got on sale at Michaels, so I thought I would try those out on the Gelli plate...
Gelli Plate Comparison | Stamping Foam vs PlayDoh

I have used Modeling Dough (Dollar Tree brand of Play-Doh) to pick up textures in the past and one of my viewers mentioned I could also use a stamping foam. I have been wanted to test out and compare both of them in a Gelli Printing session, so here it is. I picked up my Simon Hurley Stamping Foam by Ranger from Amazon. Watch along to see my pros and cons to working with each and as a baseline,...

Hi Therese, such a pretty star. I must try it but looks like you need patience, lol, Thank you for sharing and I want yo wish you and yours a HAPPY THANKSGIVING
Wow, great job tackling the German directions plus with quick instructions, I think you did a great job. I might try making one later on. I really like the star stamps you used. I wonder how the star would look with a two color sided print? 🤔
I bet that would look really cool with two colors!
How cute, I haven’t seen you in while.
Hi Linda! 👋 I have been making the ornaments with my Gelli prints lately and they have been so much fun to make! Hope you are doing well.
Hi Therese, the ornaments are so pretty and I bet shine nicely on your tree. I would try making these. Thank you for sharing. It’s snowing here, so I am in the Christmas spirit.
Hi Susan! 👋 Oh how beautiful the snow must look. Is it the first snow of the season? It’s actually a bit chilly here (65 degrees in FL, lol) so it feels like Christmas here as well! 🌲✨
The snow is very pretty especially when the Christmas lights shine on the snow. No, not our first but first snow that will stay. It’s 12.2F degrees here, with wind chill it’s 1.4F. I will admit, I like it.
@susanpyra1339 oh wow! That does sound beautiful with the Christmas lights reflecting on the snow. ❄️ I’m glad you like it and are enjoying the Season. 🎄
I’ve been trying to devise a frame to line up paper on the plate…and it looks like you ‘ve made one. Could you do a short video on making one? I’d like a consistent 1/2” margin on the paper for framing.. Love your work!
Hi Suzanne! Thanks for your request. I made two different versions of my placement tool. I hope this helps you! What a great way to use some of the prints you have made. What a fun book.
Thank you. I look back on that little book and think, how did I make those papers?!? lol, guess I have to watch my video!
It was so fun watching this project come together.
Thanks! 🍁🎃🍎🌻
Nice project. I have not tried following the directions on Pinterest but you have nailed it. Great idea.
Thanks Christy! Hope you’re doing well. 💕
Those both really turned out great.
I really like how the leaves popped more after you added the black drawing around them. Looks great.
Thank you, Melanie! 🤗
We have so many of those fern type leaves here but they would definitely be very wet. Excited to see how these leaves turn out on the jelli roll.
It definitely helps if they dry out a little. 💕😊
Hi Therese, what a great idea to print the paper. Your print is gorgeous. I’ve made these over the years with patterned paper. I do not decorate my trees but just place them around my house where I cannot put a bigger display. Try pulling the tree to make it fluffier, hope that makes sense. Thank you for sharing.
Great tip to pull the tree! I will try that. Thank you! I think I would use them as a display filler too! Thanks for your feedback! Always appreciate you. 💕✨🌲
Great idea for a gel print and a fun project. I've done a ton of origami and you're right, the more square the paper, the easier to fold. And, yes, heavier papers provide an additional challenge. But, really no need to be perfect, you did a great job! I actually have quilting squares in various sizes so if you wanted to cut a bunch of square papers those really help. Thanks for starting off the season with some gelli merry! 🧑🎄🎍⭐🎄💯
I never thought of the quilting squares. That is a great idea! Thanks so much!!! ❤️✨
👍👍👍💕💕💕🇩🇰
This is brilliant!

I am really digging your channel. Your techniques are awesome!
Thank you! I appreciate your feedback! So happy you are liking these techniques. 💕 Do you make use a Gelli plate in your crafts?
Are these mica powders you are using? Beautiful prints.
Yes! Thank you. I used mica powders and Perfect Pearls by Ranger in various projects and the results are stunning! ✨
Hello Therese, you are so very clever, double sided paper. How flexible was the paper? And thank you for the tip about the perfect pearls brush. I like all the projects you created, gorgeous actually. I think I like the shaker card best. Thank you for sharing
Hi Susan! Thanks for having a look. The double-sided paper remained pretty flexible since copy paper is thin to begin with. I always love interactive cards too, especially a shaker. Thanks for your comment. ❤️
Cute! Love the last one
Thank you, Nancy! I like that the last one can be either a card or a tag because it is smaller! Happy printing! 🙌💕
That ornament is very cool! Might have to try that.
Thank you! I think it would be fun to mix it up a bit with different colors! I found this inspiration on Pinterest! pin.it/4Nk8NSTBq
I have a Christmas tree to put up on the landing at the top of our stairs and I really don't have ornaments for it. I didn't want to spend a bunch of money to deck out a whole tree. Making these would be perfect! Thanks for the idea!
Hi Susan! Yes, this would be a fun project to put on a smaller tree. I think you could totally come up with some other variations too as you make them. I hope it’s a fun project for you if you do that!
Really cute card ideas Therese! 🎄🍬🎁
Hi Rhonda! Thank you! I hope you are having fun with your prints and makes this season!
Wonderful prints and cards👏🏻🤩
Thank you! 🤗
Are you using Preview on the iPad to edit your scan? How big are your 600 dpi scans?
Hi Sharon, thank you for your comment. I am only using the HP Smart App with the edit function in the scan tile. The 600dpi scans range from 8mb (for my 5”x7” prints) up to 17mb (for my 8”x10” prints) with some very detailed ones being up to 53mb. Hope that helps. 💖
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
So creative! I love watching you craft :-)
Hi Becky! Aww, thanks! ☺️❤️
Pretty build up layering. And good tip of dollar store Lego for round stamp 7:04, and 7:32 tip for bubble wrap (revealed at 10:57) was best ive seen. Normally bubble wrap reveals look garish but yours was circular, diverse and neat looking.
Hi and thanks for your kind comment! The Lego has a bonus because you can use the back side too for some different circles. I never thought about that with the bubble wrap. Thanks for saying so! Happy printing. 🤗
Thank you just what I needed to see!
Happy to hear it helped you! Happy printing. 🤗
Oh, I wish I were where you are. It's beautiful over there.
Thanks Susan! Wish you were there too! It’s so much more beautiful in person!!! ❤️
thanks for the autumn inspiration. i'm going to collect some leaves & such ,right now, & make some prints! 😻😻😻😻😻 5/5
Thanks for your kind words! It is lots of fun printing with those beautiful leaves! Happy printing!!! 🍁❤️
Your prints are gorgeous, hard to pick a favourite. Hope you had a wonderful vacation. The pine needles would make wonderful Christmas cards. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Susan! Thanks for your sweet comment. I was thinking the same thing as I was printing…that the pine needles would make awesome Christmas card backgrounds. I saved one of the pine needle clusters to take home, so I will have to see if it maintains its shape. 💖
@ I think if you keep the pine needle in a cool place, it should keep. Up here in Canada, we buy pine needle and greenery for Christmas in early November and they keep until January and sometimes until February. Fingers crossed they keep for you.
Good to know! Thank you. 😊
Lovely colours darling.... wonderful memories of your trip xxxxx
Hi Paulla! Thank you! It was a trip to remember full of color and hiking until we couldn’t feel our legs, lol! 🤭
Well done I love the experiments you showed us with the transparent paint colors.
I’m so glad you liked my experiment. I couldn’t find many videos using just transparent paints, so I decided to play and see if I liked the results. Do you prefer to use opaque or transparent paints?
@ I usually use a combination of both transparent and opaque but I’ve been fascinated with your use of transparent paint colors.
Thank you for sharing about cutting with the Big Kick. I’ve been looking at new die cut machines. I used to have the Cuttlebug and I gave it to my daughter so I need to replace it. Great project and superb video.
Thanks for sharing that you found this info helpful. The one thing to keep in mind with this machine is that it is a manual crank vs. electric, which I don’t mind.
Beautiful
Thanks, Christy! Hope you are doing well.
@ it looks like you had a great trip to the mountains.
@ it was wonderful! It’s always hard getting adjusted off of vacation time!
Brilliant! ❤
Thank you! 🤗
So Beautiful! What is the size of the paper? Thanks
Thank you, Becki! I used an 8.5” x 11” piece of copy paper.
Love these colors and the view. Enjoy your R & R. Thanks for the lovely video. 😊
Thank you, Kim! ☺️
Love the fall colours you used for these beautiful leaf prints Therese 🍁 Happy Fall!
Thank you, Yolande! Happy Fall to you too! 🍁
I got that same printer/scanner, but my artwork doesn’t look as good as yours 😭 mine turns out bad when I scan it, like low resolution, can barely see the drawing and oil pastels have a bad resolution, I wish mine looked as good as yours
It might be worth trying out different settings on your scanner and experimenting with the lighting in the edit feature. Also, don’t forget to scan in using 600 dpi, that makes a big difference.
@ unfortunately it didn’t work 😭
@MissAmandaMay I’m sorry it didn’t work.
I particularly liked your embossed paper textures. Just lovely!
Thank you so much! The textures really make the prints pop! I also love that you can use them over and over.
Forgot to say, using gelelf plate- might make a difference?
Same here. Glad its not just me! Only got a very faint resist or none at all with different brands of cheap oil pastels..Expensive quality Sennelier oil pastels barely produced resist marks either. Wasted a few hours on this. Only thing I discocered was acheap black paint that produced a fanatsric crackle effect on its own because it wouldn't stick to the plate.. lovely effect, so noted for future use.
I love unexpected crackles! Did you wait for the paint to dry and then twist the plate? Or did it crackle while it was still wet? Very cool! Something I discovered unexpectedly that seemed to work was writing on a piece of cardstock with a ball point pen and that created a resist! I will have to make a video because I discovered it by accident and now want to see if I can recreate that effect.
wonderful colors !!! and I'm in love with the gold words print !!!
Oh thanks! I think that one is the winner!
VERY informative!
I hope it helps! Such intriguing results!!!
I have so many Gelli prints that I absolutely love and don't want to use because I know I can't recreate them. This is a great solution. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Cheryl! 👋 Yes, that is the perfect way to test our using your prints! I will even print out a copy and do my project with that first and often time can hardly tell it isn’t the original (except it doesn’t print out metallics).
Great idea thank you
I love it ❤
Transparent paints definitely frustrate me in terms of not recognizing their transparency and planning for how it be effect other layers. Might have to do a sit down and play, like you did here, to get a better sense of how they interact with one another.
Yes! It is definitely than what Distress inks would do. It’s fun to make a hypothesis and then see how close you are!
@@Thereses-Crafty-CabanaOh yeah, distress oxides, too, for sure. I was thinking more about the transparent paints, particularly the colors you were using, and remembered doing some CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) screen printing some years ago. My inks were fairly transparent and the layering definitely mattered! Lightest to darkest and when done well the print has a whole range of colors. That's still how color inkjet & laser printers work. Might have to consider this sort of process on the gel plate!!! I bet some nifty results could occur!
Oh yes! That is so true. I haven’t screen printed before but the printers I have known about that. I will keep that in mind to start with the lightest color! Thank you!
