How to Weed Your Garden Like an MMA Workout
Keep going, hydrate, but don’t stop. Take the weeds wherever they are - in bricks, climbers, and get them all and dig down to get the roots. Be pristinely neat. If you do this, you’ll be exhausted.

How to Weed Burdock in North Philadelphia
Переглядів 413 місяці тому
Common burdock plants abound in this backyard in near North Philly. The plants are large but have shallow roots, sort of a tap root, but when the soil is moist, and even when not, burdock is easy to remove. Haha it will seed all over the place when you remove it, then you'll have a whole bunch more burdock to remove. The sun is moving closer to the earth.

    Excellent video and I can't remember if I've posted this extra tip or not. Towards your last steps, you don't have to hold the string to thread it through the outside holes or battle the string unwinding. On the string housing there's two small holes cut into the outside rim on the string housing. Those holes line up with the trimmer outer housing holes. The key is you have to leave enough string so that the string reaches those holes on opposite sides of the ring. Snap your string into those holes before securing the outside housing into the outer ring. Feed the string through the outer housing then give it a little tug to detach it from the inner ring and you are good to go! If you want, you can cut the string so that the outside feed lengths are even.

      Yes, thanks for sharing that. I’ve learned that from re stringing this trimmer many times. Happy weed whacking!

  • @LL-ew9eg

    The string on my new weed wacker got stuck, and when I pulled off the spool, it completely unraveled. I couldn’t figure out how to restring it for the life of me. Thanks for showing me how! One thing, though-when it unraveled, the string wasn't in two pieces. It was one continuous piece. It wrapped around the middle divider, forming a U-shape. The divider has a notch that locks the string into place, automatically aligning it with the arrow. This made restringing the spool easy. But getting the cap back on without it completely unraveling again was a son of a gun!

      Yes, the one piece of string thing is a better way! I just bought two Ego trimmers and they self feed by clicking a button, winds the single string into place.

    I couldn't use my whacker without asking for sorrow with stronger hands to help me. I think having the line folded instead of cut was making it all so bulky. Now i can string it (thank you for making sense! ) AND the cover is fitting better, so i can open and do it myself. I look every year or so... glad i finally found your tutorial!

  • @wuxinyang1797
    @wuxinyang1797 2 місяці тому

    Another question. The instruction says that hit the ground to automatically extends the line when operating? How does that work? I can see the center cap is worn out. If I hit the grpund when operating, the cap will eventually worn out. Is it supposed to be like this?

    • @easlandscaping
      @easlandscaping 2 місяці тому

      That is the self feeding concept that I could never get to work but it is supposed to feed the string forward if the spool spins forward to feed the string, which sometimes it does not feed it, sorry for confusion. You bump feed while the machine is running kind of slowly. I hope that helps, good luck with everything!

    Question how to replace the line with blades?

    • @easlandscaping
      @easlandscaping 2 місяці тому

      The spool thing comes out, the string gets re strung , spool goes back on, then cap goes back on. Maybe the blades come off on another model, when the cap and spool come off?

    My weed eater doesn't have no side buttons. On the spool, it's a fucking electric weed. Wacker weed eater a weed ear. Weighted Wacker, wait, wait. The head will not come up or the button won't come off so I can change the goddamn string. That's why I hate the fucking mode. They co because every time I do I have to work on a fucking shit for 2 or 3 days? Before I can do a 15 or 20 minute fucking job.

    • @easlandscaping
      @easlandscaping 2 місяці тому

      Bro, I hear you. Weed whackers are great until you have to restring OR need to investigate a problem, then they suck. We go through a few machines every year, they just fall apart or get broken. For removing weeds, from a lot or to remove grass for sod, we use the dutch hoe, super sharp easy to use and hasn’t changed in 500 years. Gardeners Supply sells them, they are expensive but we use on every job. Good luck.

    Hi, I have watched 100+ of your videos. You make so many beautiful and informative video content about landscape and hardscape installations, landscape design, native plantings, sod installations, artificial grass installations, outdoor construction and lighting. All your video quality is good. But I noticed, the video views of other channels of the same keyword are very high compared to your video's views are very low. And I analyzed the reason. They have implemented SEO in their content which you haven't. And therefore your targeted visitors are not finding your content. Do you want to stay ahead of your competitors?

    I have the same Dewalt grinder. Question: In the instruction manual it states that you need to use a different 2 sided guard when using a cutting wheel. The unit only came with a one sided guard and a grinding wheel. So do I have to separately purchase a new 2 sided guard in order to use a cutting wheel, or can I use the one sided guard that came with it? Many thanks!

    • @easlandscaping
      @easlandscaping 7 місяців тому

      If I am correct, you can use a 3 1/2” cutting wheel with the one sided guard. The only reason why I do not use the guard is that we use the grinder for paver and brick cutting and use 6 1/2-7” blades, and then just throw caution to the wind and cut. We actually wear eye protection and i will also wear a mask to protect my teeth just in case something flys back. And gloves of course. I hope that helps.
