Our band, Home Grown, practiced just up the street from the Thirsty Whale. One night, The Friends were booked there but they forgot their mic stands. Someone gave them our number, so we loaned them ours for the night. A good time was had by all when they stopped to pick them up.

Jittery footage, but WOW did they sound great! Too bad they had the annoying "Beach Boy Cheerleaders" in that show (the dancing girls were in the way when I saw them live in San Francisco, too).

Too Too Fast

I remeber in the '70's we would while away hot summer days dealin poker and spinning these albums.

This is a great record. I had a friend who was a record producer, who told me siblings are the best singers together due to their voice similarities. When he said this I thought of The Robbs. Their drummer, Craig, was the equivalent to Hal Blaine, yet has his own distinctive style.

The Robbs Movin' was a great single, as good as any Grassroots record. Craig was as talented a drummer as any in the music business. I first saw and heard it on Downbeat with Don Webster from Ohio.
