Hi, This is my first boat build of 2018, it took 9 days to build! Oh the joy of retirement! :) I got this kit from Vintage Model Works, its a great little boat. This was the first run and it went well, I dont fully open the throttle on my wooden boats, I enjoy taking them around at scale speed :)

Hi having spent the back end of last year building this Seaqueen, I was eager to run it for the first time. As you can see from the video, it went well. I kept it to a scale speed. As we are now getting closer to the boating season I`ll be uploading videos more regularly.

This video is one of the first runs I did with the RAF boat. I was loosing the light when I got round to filming this video, so it gave me the opportunity to film with the LED lights switch on, which I had built into the boats fittings, I wired it up so I am able to switch them on and off via my transmitter. I am running the boat at Fleetwood boating lake. Ricks-RC-Powerboats.com

This is one of the first test runs of my GTX hull, which is airbrushed to look like Nigel Hooks 2014 winning World Championship boat "Outerlimits". This is running with the RMCK Inline Twin S520. Unfortunately towards the end of this video, because of a sharp turn I perform, the flexi-drive snaps, all part of testing I guess! It was replaced. Ricks-RC-Powerboats.com

This is a short video of one of the first test runs I did with the boat. Im running her at Fleetwood Model Boating Lake. Specification: Motor: SSS 56 MM Brushless 1000 KV. ESC: 220amp Swordfish 2-12S. 1/4 Flexi-drive shaft with 50mm 3 bladed brass prop submerged. Stainless steel large rudder with Savox digital servo. Running batteries: 6S Lipos wired in parallel. I believe that the way you paint your boat is most important. This is a nice boat but the paint job takes away the beautiful lines of the hull .
This boat is over 30years old paint deteriorated over the years it’s not your boat so why you bothered

It turns so realistic. If it were me I'd run a 12s setup. Gas is awesome too but that's me.
I used to love to run rd boats but was ran off from every place that was big enough to run them so I give it up and I had 6 boats and some of them were really fast and I do miss it cause it was a lot of fun

Sorry I only speak English this video was taken when I first got the boat since then I have changed it from gas powered to twin fast electric runs 8s on each motor and goes great now 👍

Wry nice, but I think I would have gone with a submerged prop since it’s scale, not a race hull.

Running way to wet. My guess is the ride pads are hooked. Common problem on fiberglass hulls. Put a straight edge on the ride pads. From the transom forward. If you can see the light between the hull and the straight edge you’ve got hook in your hull. Do you want your serves be perfectly flat. If you have hook fill it & sand it out with body filler. Hook will rob you of so much speed & power it’s ridiculous! Turn the sink water on and gently hold a spoon between your fingers so It can rock back in forth up to the water. Notice how the back of the spoon pushes away from the water that’s called rocker and the front of the spoon sucks the spoon into the water that’s the hook affect. Some boat hulls have rocker which is bad as well and will make your boat run to light on the water..you want flat that’s the goal. See you at the lake!!
This video is over 5years old when I first built it since then the engine was removed and now has a twin prop fast electric set up and runs great thanks for your comment tho 👍

I have a king of shave p1 56"' V hull rc boat that i bought from someone but it's missing some parts was wondering if u had an idea of what size strut and rudder, trimms, turning blade etc. does it carry and what site i can buy it from ???

Im interested in building a gas powered boat using a weed eater engine. do you know where I can source a bare hull the size of yours for my project?
Drago the only place I know for a hull this size is Bonzi boats or MHz in Germany as my hull is not available anymore I wouldn’t use a weed eater engine as they are not water cooled go for a zenoah
Bonzi boats are very nice & very expensive! I like to build big gas boats for cheep! I just finished one with a air cooled $45 new 47cc scooter 2 stroke engine, I put it in a plastic toboggan I got from Walmart for $20! It works great!! Mount the engine in the middle of the 50” toboggan to keep porpoising down. See you at the lake!
Sounds like you are dragging a weight behind it.. Engine revs don't match the speed. Maybe your prop needs to be lowered. You don't seem to be lacking power

Hi Rick , just found your channel ! I do love the classic style launches ( 50s/60s.) I remember as a kid , Aerokits were the biz . This is so realistic . Wales UK.

I'm thinking of going the same way with my RAF launch. Only 16" and brushed at present !
Dave Cooper after I built this boat I scaled it up and built a 68in version!!
Was the hull in wood ? glass ? or carbon ? If mine is successful, I'm thinking of going to around 46" so that it fits the back seat of the car.

Why do all rc speed boats needs to have lightning speeds? Wish more like my self liked the scale speed :) This is allmost scale speed.

@@ricksrcpowerboats5663 Yeah, true :) But they miss so much details about how boats behave, and the scale looks. But I'm a scale guy, like when I watches 1:10 touring car races at my local track. They all looks like dishes upside down, with different colors. Ok they are fast, but I could instead watch a red dot from a lazer pen moving around😂
hi, what is the range that so a boot can rich? i mean that still can control the boot?

So you couldnt properly setup the gas engine so you went Electric and still you make things complicated with a dual ESC...? Ever heard of the KISS method? Sometimes all you need is the right person to accomplish greatness... good luck

Meant to say the 46inch version. Just realised iv'e spoken to the guy from Vintage Model Works in the past. Used to live right near him in Raynes Park.
Well done!. Great looking boat. Used to chase the ducks on Wimbledon Common with mine probably 45yrs ago before I moved to Oz. I'm retired now and had thought about building another one. I read somewhere that the plans are still available. Mine had working nav lights and search lights, but my water jet pump was a dismal failure. I'd like to build the 42inch version
out drive has to be set lower in the hull

Hi Michael, Thanks, im not sure if you can still get this hull now, I got mine through a third party via someone who ran a boat parts website in the UK, the website has been taken down now. However you can get a similar hull, from MHZ in Germany, hope this helps :)
