so i think its a good idea, but the problem i see there its the aesthetics of it, what you think?maybe if it would not protrude out of the cajon walls and maybe just a little hole on one side for a knob or a lever, or even something that its flush to the out side wall, mm i don't know just thinking here
It doesn't actually look that bad - In fact, about 90% of the ones I see have something off the side. Especially if you are using it on-stage. You'll see the one on the left has a kick pedal on it - I also installed an internal mic to it. So when I'm playing a show, I simply plug-in and go. Typically I'm playing a guitar or mandolin and singing while I'm using the kick. I actually rarely use the snare anyhow (which is why I only install a single snare in them).
Thanks for posting. Why did you attach it to closer to one side than the other and not towards the middle? (trying to figure out where to attach mine)
It does look like it's off centre, but it not - just whacky camera angle.
