When I opened up Spotify yesterday morning, it popped up and asked if I wanted to watch it. I wanted to screen record it so I watched a couple times. It was right at the top of the app to rewatch it.

I was in the pit. I had my dad take some video but this is the only full song. Only like 20 second clips.

He was pretty good that night. A couple nights before this show, Alkaline Trio had to drop off a night in Texas because Matt completely lost his voice. But Dan was the MVP. He went absolutely insane vocally.

Yeah like we said it’s got some fantastic songs on it but overall it’s inconsistent. The reason we put it at silver is because those few tracks are that good

That is true. I've only seen AFI live once and that was opening for Rise Against in 2018. They only played 10 songs, but they played at least one song from every album starting with Black Sails on the Sunset and I'm counting Strength Through Wounding opening the set. They did play Wester from The Art of Drowning which was insane! Thanks for watching!

To me it is a great album but I don’t think it’s anything more than that I don’t think it’s a 10 out of 10 album and other than what I said about a couple of the songs that kind of take away from it, lyrically it’s not as focused an album as some others. Lyrically it’s just kind of inconsistent but the songwriting is great

It doesn’t appear for everyone right now. I guess I got lucky. Everyone should have theirs by Thursday December 3 is what Spotify is saying. @@elbamlos I’ve been a Rise Against fan since Endgame came out. It’s Tim’s voice and the instrumentation that makes me love them. I love fast paced melodic hardcore.

There are many screams in the background throughout the song and I have always believed that those screams were from the recording sessions for Heartwork. Those screams sound like they could be current day because I watch their live shows all the time and I have seen them twice. Once in 2019 and once this February. This is only from my observations. I can't say anything definitive. The screams around 2:13 are wildly different sounding from other screams in the song or even the album itself. I know Bert had vocal surgery in 2007 and hasn't screamed the same way since. That's why I made the estimation of 15 years. The biggest scream besides Bloody Nose on the album is on To Feel Something. I believe that's from the recording of the album. This scream is consistent of what I've seen and heard from shows and recent albums like The Canyon and Imaginary Enemy. I'm not trying to insult anyone. The Used is in my top 10 favorite bands of all time and Bert is my favorite screamer of all time. I truly thank you for taking time out of your day to watch my video and leaving a comment. @@fissi0n470 I don't agree with you saying the screams starting at 2:12 being wildly different than anything on the album. The very next track "Wow, I Hate This Song" has a nearly identical vocal. It's just not the main vocal. Listen with headphones and you'll hear the screams layered in the vocals throughout the chorus and other parts. This also exists in other tracks. I'm not trying to diminish the fact that you're a big fan of The Used. I believe you are. I am as well, and I also think Bert has the best scream I've ever heard. I have been since before their first record even released, and they've been my favorite band since. I even have album artwork tattooed and I've seen them countless times live and own a ridiculous amount of Used stuff. I'm also lucky enough to be friends with the guys "aside from Joey". I don't know him well. My old band opened for them in 2007 and I've been friends with them ever since. Still keep in touch with Quinn as well. I say that because I've had many personal conversations with Bert. We've talked about his voice before. Bert can scream but chooses not to for the preservation and longevity of his voice. Although he still does scream at times or does a slightly different scream than he did in the past. I can also assure you that on EVERY record. You're hearing vocals tracked during the sessions for that record. They aren't pulling old vocal takes and using them in new songs. As i said before, every album has had screams to some extent. Some more guttural and other more shouting. Sometimes you even scream vocal takes dubbed over each other to make them sound bigger. I'm not trying to be an dick or anything man. Maybe I'm over explaining or rambling. But ultimately what I'm trying say is that the scream you referenced was recorded in 2019 in the studio with Feldy. And it probably stands out because it's front and center in the mix. You can hear similar screams FROM BERT on Heartwork. They're just hidden in the mix a bit deeper. They're also in The Canyon on tracks. On Imaginary Enemy on a couple tracks. Some like Cry where they're right in your face and sometimes hidden in the mix. But you hear it on every record. Just not nearly as much as the first 2 records. Anyway, overall you did a nice job on the review dude. No hard feelings. Sorry for the long winded reply.
