Bollington Skyline Enduro 2024. Stage 1 - 5 Race Runs. Saturday practice went out the window when the rain came and brought plenty of carnage with it out on track. I ended up with a midpack finish overall which was fair enough given the standard of riding from everyone. I rode a little bit too reserved in places as the plan was to get a clean run in on loop 1 then go for it on loop 2, but condi...

Footage and a little talk through my demo of a 2025 Merida eONE-SIXTY 875 eBike. Deepcar Session for RVR Wednesday Night Ride. Hit all the trails on the Deepcar side for a couple of hours, a bit of carnage from from some of the lads with a couple of bad offs... but overall a good night. 2hrs riding and around 2,000ft of climbing. Pub to finish. Video thrown together as testing the new camera, still not happy with it but will keep playing with the settings. a couple of runs ...

Boltby Bash Enduro 2024 race day. Stages 1 - 5. Overall time was 11:20.25 which placed me 417th out of the 1,026 riders who finished. The course seemed a bit more battered in places than usual this year with some with ruts to catch you out that aren't usually there, but the weather was on our side so race day was a fair bit dryer than practice. Quite pleased with my time but I did hold back a b...
Win Hill MTB

With the sun making its first appearance of the year there was nothing else to do but take the day off work for a mid week solo banger. Didn't get out for the big one I had planned so just rode the usual bits, but after months of riding in the cold and wet it was nice to ride anything in the sun! Trails still a bit draggy and soft, but the dust is finally starting to show! 01/05/2024.

Hemlock Stone MTB Trails - Nottingham. A nice spot if you don't fancy any pedaling with a couple of very short runs. 'Freeride' and 'OG Line' are probably the only ones worth riding and there are a nice set of dirt jumps with some pretty big gaps if you're into that! The step up is great for building confidence too as its nice and easy, even if it looks a bit intimidating when you first see it....

Wet Wharny! 18/02/2024. Not uploaded for a while, so thought id put some clips together of what's hopefully the start of the end of the slop!! Its still as wet as it has been all winter. Any day now the weather will change and we will start to see the dust returning until next winter. A great morning with 6 riders out. Another crash from me, meaning another ripped pair of trousers!! Morning in Wharncliffe Woods - 24/09/2023. Just a test video to see how the footage comes out now ive switched to a chin mounted angle on the full face helmet. Feeling a bit ropey and the conditions were slick, but its officially the first day of Autumn so that's the best its going to get until next year! A short one but a great day as always. Riding with Mike and Ash.

Awesome day of riding with the Tasty Tech Addicts group. Big group out riding the trails around Ladybower, starting from the top of Win Hill. I don't think ive ever seen the conditions as good. 3,500ft (ish) of climbing in 15 miles. We rode a few bits that are new to me which is always good! I was a bit cautious down some of them riding blind, especially 50:01, but now ive seen what they're all...

Santa Cruz Internal Cable Routing Solution
Переглядів 9 тис.Рік тому
Quick video with a solution to the internal cable routing issues a lot of people experience with with their Santa Cruz bikes. This only applies to models where the internal routing has each route individually moulded into the carbon, i'm not sure which models this applies to but it seems to be the newer ones, mine is the Megatower V2. This means the usual methods to help routing the cable, like...

What size were you riding and how tall are you
@@cookiecanfly_ I’m about 5.10 and it’s a size large. Felt like a great fit to me.
how much is this bike setup
@@simplelifechannel1073 I think about £1,800.00 new but look out for offers as they always have sales on.
Cracking week, brother 👌shame you can't make it next year 😢
Loved it, yeh its a shame. I'm sure ill be back for 2026!
Top tunes and riding!
Talk about a PROPER tip, worked perfect. Thank you sir
Worked great on my Megatower, thank you!
Nice ride ls that a whistle or is it the guy wheezing?
A mix of heavy breathing and whistling 😂
lt looks a great course and good fun
That's was me at 2:13
No way 😂😂 the Marshall shouted that you were in the track but when I rolled into the drop I wasn’t expecting to see someone rock climbing back up the hill to their bike 😂 hope you got on well for the rest of it.
I did finish it. I didn't come last stages 3-5 were better. You passed me again at 3.45 on stage 3 on the video
@@PeterMorris57 well done mate. Was a great weekend.
It worked! Second push and bam!
@@rain164845 glad it worked for you 👍
Nice Man 👍🏻🙋
Start from the entrance of the cable, routing by the rear suspension and leave enough out to where you can run it up into the seat post and then you can run the rest of it all the way up to the handlebars way easier that’s what I do and it’s so much faster❤😊
Nomad V6, found this replacing the stock Reverb. I didn't 'sharpen' my hose but I found a great solution to help guide the new hose into place... leave the Reverb hydraulic line, insert your wire cable into the hydraulic hose (from the seat post end), then holding the cable pull the hydraulic hose out of the head tube leaving the cable behind. Feed your new hose (cable housing) over the cable and push it in from the head tube. The wire will be pretty stiff down at the bottom of the downtube so it guides the new hose perfectly. Easy.
Really enjoyed this video format and your thoughts on riding an ebike. There's definitely better specced bikes out there for less money.
Hope you liked the voiceovers 🤣🤣
@@RubbishBikeVideos mate I really enjoyed the whole video 😂
Nice vid mate, looking for an e mtb with alloy frame myself. I want a good alrounder with plenty of range, this to be a contender. Take care.
epic fix. thanks for this
Mate, that was such a fun night! Really enjoyed it 😂
Nice riding there pal 👌
Cheers mate. Loving the conditions at the minute 🙌
Great video and a great day 😂
Perfect thanks. I'm about to do the same on my V1 Megatower from a Reverb to cable.
This worked for me on a Nomad v5, saved me more cursing and dark thoughts toward this frame.
Awesome 😯
Worked like a champ, thanks! Worked on first try after the tips, wouldn't go in prior to that.
Make sure your clutch is on on the derailleur, that’ll stop the slap nearly 100%
Could not get it through on a bronson v4, worked first time after following this!
Thanks!!
Nailed it! This worked to solve my problem on a v3 Hightower.
The council are bastards man! I was going to head to hemlock for the first time in the morning, that's why I'm watching this! They flattened the trails near mine and erected a sign saying "You can ride the trails at Cannock as they're sanctioned", that's fucking 21 miles away! How are kids supposed to travel that far?!
It's a real shame but I suppose it's all part of the game. Stuff gets knocked down and re built bigger and better 🤙
@@RubbishBikeVideos I still went this morning, it's mint tbf, they've done a good job on the freeride line
hey big senderrrr!!!!!
🤣🤣
I need to back out
Get yourself out mate. Were usually out somewhere every weekend or so. Hopefully will be drying out over the next few weeks too!
@@RubbishBikeVideos looks like a few runs there
That step up is mint.
Yeh it's the best bit there. Next time I need to get my hands off the bars or something on it 🤣
Great video thanks man. Recently discovered this side to Wharncliffe and love it.
My tallboy is the same absolute dog shit design, will give this a method a try
Same on my 5010 v4, I tried your technique but unfortunately couldn't get the cable housing to turn. So tried via the seat tube as you can see the internal routing at the bottom on the drive side if you use a tourch. I used some freehub oil and it went in very easily, no problems with the bend.
You are a lifesaver!! Your method works magically!! 🎉😁
Glad to have helped 😊
Just one question about the Megatower - it looks like all the spray from the rear tire is going straight into the suspension link? Is that so? If yes - is it difficult to clean it well? How did you manage that?
There's a small guard that comes fitted to keep bits out, but generally it does collect mud around there. I've rode in conditions as bad as it gets and it's never affected performance. For cleaning I don't keep mine spotless and it would be fiddly to get to if your wanting to clean it that way, but a click blast with a hose pipe can get most of the mud out of that area easily enough.
@@RubbishBikeVideos Yeah, I was hoping to be something like that. Thanks, man, this was a big concern for me! Please, if you like, share any important info about this bike that you think should be shared. All the best!
@@finroddd it's a brilliant bike, it's like riding a downhill bike. Service from Santa Cruz is brilliant too with the bearing replacement and rider support if you have any questions
@@RubbishBikeVideos Thank you!
Exact issue I am facing with my V4 Nomad! I solved the issue by pulling the cable through the black housing, so that it gets stuck at the handlebar end. Then you can pull on the cable, thus « routing » the housing out of the frame. Worked quickly!
Oh, it’s MY bike now!
You buy it off him?
@@Roginator007 no… it’s a League of Gentlemen reference.
How tall are you and what size did you go for? Also do you still have the bike after 3 years?
5 10ish and large frame. Fits nice for how I ride. Yes still for it although it doesn't see many miles these days.
@rubbishbikevideos9722 OK thanks I'm 5ft 11" so in-between a large and xl 🤔 great video thank you
I’m about to change my cable this week , great tip
Thanks for the tip mang
Thanks for the trail names. Well ridden in those conditions. Good lines and good speed on Delayed Pleasure in particular.
i found an easier solution by twisting the housing as i pushed it in it was able to find its way through although I did lubricate the tip as you did but it went through pretty quick. same problem getting rid of a squishy reverb. thanks!
Next time try routing the inner cable first. Once it’s through insert it into the outer and go from seattube forward, pulling the inner from the front of your bike at the same rate as the outer from the back.
Just as a general question re slack ht vs full sus - do you find yourself riding it like a modern full sus, because of the geo, then getting kicked in the arse because there's no rear suspension?
Yeh you can't compare the two, I find when I get on the HT when it's rough you really have to hold back as you need to pick completely different lines or you just get bucked off.
Love it
Nice vid James 👍
Yes lad, get them runs in before the major slops comes, top riding there pal 🤙
Love it when it gets a bit colder and the slop comes.
How’s Dave performing now after 3 years bro? Hard finding anything on this bike so appreciate the video
Still going strong and other than the wheels I've not had to touch anything on it. It doesn't get much use now, but will probably come out more soon for the local night rides seen as we've got winter conditions for the next 5 months 🤣
@@RubbishBikeVideos cheers bro.
EDIT: there is an easier way to do this. 1) With drop post removed, insert new dropper cable (no housing) from the front of the bike, actuator first, until it pops out of the seat tube. Use light lube if needed. 2) Use the cable as a guide to lead the cable housing from the front of the bike, pushing the cable housing from the front of the bike and pulling the cable from the seat tube until you see the cable housing emerge. 3) Place the actuator in the drop post, clamp the seat at the desired height. 4) Put a (preferably metal) end cap on the cable housing at the front of the bike. 5) Tighten and tension the cable into the lever, making sure the end cap is securely fit into the barrell adjuster. I'm an amateur mechanic and this easily and repeatedly worked for me.
That won't solve the issue everyone has with Santa Cruz frames. It's not guiding the cable through that's the issue, it's getting the housing past the hole into the seat tube.
@@RubbishBikeVideos Reread my comment, it will solve the issue. Again, you use the cable to guide the housing through the frame. I hope that helps.
@@parkermackenzie9848 no need to guide it through as it's internally routed 👍
@@RubbishBikeVideos Your whole video was about solving the issue of guiding the housing through the frame so I’m not sure that your comment makes sense in that context. The hole in the seat post is part of the frame to be clear. The internal component is why you’re finding it difficult. I’ll try to make a video of the approach when I get around to it.
I struggled for ages with my new V4.1 frame, worked first time after watching this! Thanks!
How did you manage the timing system? Setting off in intervals? Or waiting for each rider to finish the stage?
Just walkie talkies and a stopwatch, nothing serious. Although the club now owns a full timing chip system so going forward races are going to be a lot easier, with accurate times.
