those high sierra's were basically a Schwinn varsity with the rear stays spread open haha.really rare to find a high sierra or mesa runner in any condition-great find! in the 80s some of those had pink graphics with gray frame color.

the farmer came with a subaru wagon and sarah wrangled both goats inside and gently closed the hatch ,i wasnt there but witnessed said it was impressive!!!

@@faulknerfixesall Well if that farmer's place is anything like the entire region he probably has brush and branch clearing for them to do at home; if not, there is probably plenty for the taking just laying around. On a more serious side if one and/ or the other is a milking nanny in milk, it is very important that they get milked. At least you know where their home is so if they come your way again you can hopefully get them contained and then home; just ask them to do a little more brush clearing first.

@@zman6288 yes thank you so much,its still pretty rough conditions here and i dont think i can post a video very soon but i have some to post,but didnt work on the coppertone yet

well the housing is welded on but the kickstand can be removed. i think the welded on kickstand housing is one of the best Schwinn designs ever. i have seen a lot of bikes with frame damage from people over tightening the kickstands especially on Raleigh bikes.

@@faulknerfixesall I agree. Schwinn makes the kickstand feel like it's part of the frame instead of an accessory.

yes only a few years-60 and 61 where 8 speeds with down tube shift then 1962-66 ten speed varsity were downshift as well.the "twin stik" shifter came along in1967. ah kool lemon yellow good color thanx for watching.

@faulknerfixesall I just sold a 66 varsity with down tube shifters coper tone I have to many had to let that one go but I do miss it especially after watching this video

@@zman6288 its sad to let things go especially old schwinns,i always ask myself -is the frame correct for me?do i ride the bike alot? what are the chances of finding a better preserved example?how much storage space will be gained? and will i actually get a fair price?seems like the money part is always last of the questions.

@faulknerfixesall I could hook you up with those shifters it's just on a Frankenstein bike I built with no gears but I left the shifters on because it looks unique you could have them for free especially for a good cause 🤙

measure the headset area of frame most repro schwinn springers will have lots of extra thread on the tube for a lot of applications ,but be careful dont cut the steer tube too short.so any cheap schwinn repro springer will work but the quality is really bad on these and sometimes the side rails that bolt to the steer tube are not even or are a incorrect bend. is the three wheeler a 26 inch wheel bike or 24 inch? that will make a difference as well

great you can do it just be careful and use some cardboard on the radiator support to slide it to a safer lifting area.let me know how it turns out.

yes like i said it was a big trade to get this schwinn tiger. but a really well preserved bike,although a few issues i can correct and make more original.
