Looks like he's trying to keep the guy on his feet to force turnover? They're up by two scores, and the broncos, statistically, have the best red zone defense in the league. Risk the field goal, they're still up by 8. Get the turnover, huge blow for the chargers, and huge boost to team morale. Idk, just speculating.

Interesting. Love that you're mocking Harbaugh & his enthusiasm...how's that 0-2 taste? You guys did well, but Nix had a sub 4.0 ADOT, that worked when the Bolts subbed in Taylor for the injured May, but once Minter moved Derwin back into the box used their 6th safety, rather than Taylor, AND started playing Tart (the guy who abused Meinerz) in combination with Ford, the Broncos run game stalled (roughly 2.3 YPC in the 2nd half). Go Chargers.

Truth be told, I love Jim Harbaugh. Michigan fan. Hate that he went to a division rival. The second half adjustments were overwhelming for Denver. I know it was a short week but it’s a bit concerning that we weren’t able to make in game counter moves. Should be a great rivalry for the foreseeable future. The 0-2 tastes sour, thx

See spot run, see spot stop & see spot pee on bush. Just to let you know it's a rule you can't hit people low in the NFL no more thats a penalty so with the pad levels the Broncos D players were right & smart about it. You know the chargers offensive line had its moments , Benito didn’t have the best game. Even tho he makes a tackle on Herbert at the one he still almost gets run over. The second half the Chargers went to something different that left Denver only underneath stuff and that was the real difference because Denver’s ends were getting upfield in the first half but it was the guards who gave up sacks then in the second half they were getting stone walled in a bunch of reps . They were getting pushed into the guards where Slayter and Alt were able to assist the guards & in a lot of reps we see Alt managing two defenders at one point. Slayter pretty won his matchup all day but a few reps against Benito Alt alo had some solid moments but he didn’t have the success Slayter did. And the biggest take away is Herbert did what we had seen from him before and that’s takeover a game. He’s done this before but in seasons prior the defense was coached to fail and hence Staley built a team to win on paper but lose on the grass. Made no sense at all. To put it into perspective how bad the Chargers were about Herbert, Anthony Lynn was gonna keep him on the bench in favor of Tyrod Taylor. And don’t get me wrong the players in the NFL love Taylor and he gets a lot of respect but he’s always making way for the next guy. Anyhow yeah Herbert out plays the Denver defense in the second half , Nix does next to nothing but doesn’t turn it over and turn into a game manager almost like the play calling went into limp mode. This shows a lack of adjustments being made by Denver’s coaching staff. This is an area of concern for Denver who’s sitting with similar issues as the Chargers but with a much better roster especially on offense. That’s not a good look for Denver and a second half collapse isn’t good ever going into the playoffs where they may see better teams. But Denver reminds me of other Charger teams where they ply only up to what’s in front of them instead of blowing teams out. This was clearly an old Chargers team and staff in Broncos uniforms because they sure did Charger it up in the second half. Oh well gg.

Good Vid and a great win for my bolts! I agree with a lot of your points. Although with the aspect of throwing passes short of the sticks, I have to disagree and nowhere better to look than both of our rivals in KC. NORTIOUS for throwing behind the sticks and giving players the chance for yards after catch (YAC) rather than forcing passing windows that maybe don’t exist or next to impossible to get it there. As a bronco’s hater I have to admit this shows signs of maturity knowing what he can and cannot do physically/mentally) and good football IQ as he does have enough arm strength to stretch the field but playing smart sound football late in games and asking your guys to make plays in space is what has been a HUGE part in todays game and KC does that the best. Win the TO battle and keep movin the chains. AFC BEST looks like it can be here to stay if the raiders can ever figure it out LOL! 🧹🌩

For the life of me the Chargers will always leave the middle open for Kelce…every damn time. Especially if the Chargers are up by a few points and KC is driving downfield. I suspect it's a passing concept roman uses that bunched broncos defenders on the opposite side of where the ball was thrown. If the west coast offense looks to spread defenders to make them try to defend the whole field, Roman's style is to create overloads. Usually it is to create a situation where a defender has to cover two routes at the same time. That's why some people think it's a bad passing scheme, the route spacing of receivers is too small, sometimes there's only 2 passing options. Even on these highlights, they're running mesh concept way too many times. At least they did something unexpected in the Davis TD, they ran the familiar mesh and then hit them in the mouth with a new wrinkle, the go instead of the short comeback route.

The Chargers won the game because they made adjustments to the run game and shut it down. They moved two big DTs inside on first down and pulled James out of the high safety and put him back in the box. The Broncos were gaining 6YPC before this adjustment and less than 3 YPC after the adjustment. They abandoned the run game because it got shut down. Herbert was playing well in the first half too except for the one bad pick. They got the ball more because the defense took the game over.
