Thrax can give many Disney villains a run for their money. He's so badass.

I love how he uses such simple things to mask insidiously evil outcomes in everything he does: distract the body with fighting a common cold while making its way to the brain to bring massive anihilation out of seemingly nowhere; carries pollen with him which alone isn't a threat, yet he uses it as such to make his grand escape by causing his host to sneeze; he allows himself to be seen just enough and while one cell is on his tail, the rest of the body is too busy fighting symptoms to care about causes and does not acknowledge the actual alarm signs given by the cell that did see him... Its eerie

Despite his name, he doesn't resemble Anthrax at all. He's also called The Red Death by one cell. Maybe that's a reference to the EAP story, or maybe it's a reference to Scarlet Fever's old nickname? Funnily enough in the TV Show the closest Germ we see to Thrax is the Scarlet Fever in episode 1, it has the same fever finger, though it's far more blob shaped and less capable. Personally I always read he was meant to be a bioweapon. Ordinary germs care about spreading, not killing quickly. That and he's the most humanoid looking Germ by a long shot.

Thrax talking to the green germs must be how it is when a Khorn worshipper tries to team up with Nurgle worshippers.
