    So is incgo a good brand to buy spanners in

    • @JacoBadenhorst
      @JacoBadenhorst 2 місяці тому

      I have personally not worked with them, but the reviews are good. I think they are fair for the price point. I also think the question to ask is "how often will I replace them?" For example: I own an air-craft pneumatic impact driver. Cost is R450-00 odd. An Ingersol Rand impact driver with the same specification costs approximately R8000-00. So, I can therefore fully replace the Air-craft model 17x before getting to the Ingersol rand price equivalent. Now there are other questions to entertain. What jobs are you doing for who? if you are a Caterpillar field service mechanic, the mine is paying *big* money for your service to ensure that the 988 front end loader or the 777 rigid dump truck gets back into service ASAP. Then the Ingersol Rand would be my option as it is part of the service that I render and price tooling into that job. I cannot "quickly get a new one" when I am out in the field. I need to know that my tools will not fail me. How do I explain to the client / mine manager, that he is losing R40 000-00/hr because I cheaped out on a R8000-00 impact driver?

    So the other day i was working on a suspension the bolts 22 mm where very tight so to crack them loose i locked the 22 mm spanner to a 24 mm spanner and did the two spanner trick then noticed a small dent deformation in the corner of the open end is thst normal for a quality tool if so are there less damaging methods to get more leverage on a combo spanner

    • @JacoBadenhorst
      @JacoBadenhorst 2 місяці тому

      It's going to happen as the contact area between the two spanners is so small, the force will dent even a top-quality tool. to avoid it I suggest building one of these. ua-cam.com/video/6zjQSTbLsJY/v-deo.html

    How did you remove the embossed drill identifiers from the shank of the high speed steel bit? These embossed, drill bit size identifiers would create and uneven and upset metal surface which would compromise the smoothness necessary on a burnishing tool. I know it could be done with abrasives in a lathe, but then the high-speed steel would have to be polished. I don't see this process portrayed in your video.

    • @JacoBadenhorst
