@@rogergrant455 hey Roger, I understand. I gave my jewelry pieces a LOOOOTT of thought too before pulling the trigger on a purchase. So, about this specific Cuban link, I actually bought it again about 2 months ago (I thought I updated the comments or bio already, sorry 😅), the one they sent the second time around actually had a fantastic, strong and tight clasp! So now, I feel comfortable recommending the chain again 😁. They also released a video a couple weeks after this one posted, saying that if the clasp is loose on this chain to use pliers to tighten it and you should be fine (so good thinking on that). On the new one I ordered, I didn’t need to do anything. It just was very snappy and secure already out of the box. Maybe me (and a couple other buyers) got flukes or something, but it seems to be fixed now. And if not, just return it! (But it should be ok). That was the only issue I had with the necklace, other than that, it’s gorgeous 🤩. Good idea with the 24in, but u have to recommend getting the exact size you want to wear and will look good on you. I imagine myself compromising size for the clasp and then just looking at it and wishing it were a different length and not being fully happy. This is a good amount of money (to me at least) so make sure you get what you want and makes you happy! And I would never sleep with a moissy chain either :)

I had the series 5 for years, and I think the new series 10 is a different color. Hard to explain exactly, but the series 6,7,8,9 are all lighter in color than the 5 and the 10, but the 5 and 10 both look a little different, but more similar to each other than the 6-9. I'd say the 5 is more bronze, while the 10 is more darker gold..., but not as much in the bronze direction. Then again, I don't own a series 10, I just looked at one for 10 minutes straight in the Apple Store. I prefer the pink series 9, but that's just me :)

@@MrsJamiChandler Thank you for the response! I have been to the Apple Store myself for the 10 but the lighting in there isn't the best and it seems like these colors are different depending on the lighting. I'm going to visit one more time this weekend to make a choice and run with it.

But yes, I agree with what my wife said @mrsjamichandler (I may have even helped her a bit with the response 😉). Anyways, yeah, I know what you mean.. the lighting in the apple store sucks! Like, it’s too good! Everything in there looks gorgeous, but it’s hard to get a realistic sense of what it’ll look like in the real world. I begged the apple employees to get a watch out of the locked drawers so I could try them on, that helped a lot! See if they’ll let you do that. Good luck with your next Apple Store visit! Hey, thanks for the support! This is ChandlerChainz! (I’m using my wife’s account), but yes, it’s STILL holding up great today! It doesn’t have that “fresh out the factory shine” anymore, but it still looks like real gold! And shines good. No silver showing at all, I’ve been wearing it in the shower and everything.

@@therealshaft9768 if we don’t compare, how will the people know!? :) . Yeah, a lot of these jewelers get their stuff from similar suppliers. And yes, I agree! The Italian ropes are much stiffer. On the neck it doesn’t bother me much, but for storage, you notice a difference.

Most the time the good stuff like that is made for the ladies (earrings, bangles, dainty necklaces). If someone came out with some gold filled Cubans/ropes, it’d be a game changer!

Yes! I thought that was interesting and I wouldn’t have thought about that. But it totally makes sense for hollow chains. And yup, you’re right about the solid chains and 10k, in that case, they’ll retain their shape and resist scratches better 👍🏽. Thanks for the input!

Well I’ll say my current daily driver is a HRC. 6mm Diamond cut rope. LOVE it. But Harlem bling isn’t terrible. They’re gonna run you more price per gram than the other companies you mentioned for sure.. but the quality is good. Shape and style of ropes? Kinda just depends on what you’re going for. You can’t deny their shine/sparkle factor on the ropes though. I’ve only seen the 4mm solid gold one in person. Sparkles GORGEOUSLY. Lighter though and more expensive than your Peruvian ropes, unfortunately. Which is why I went with HRC. Sorry if you had a bad experience with HB. I’ve had good and bad exp with them. I feel like HB was on to something with the chains being lighter. Like, it would help people save money by producing a bigger look, but using less gold. So it SHOULD be cheaper. It’s a great idea and they could sell a lot of chains like that. But they sell the light ones for the same price as the heavier ones at the same size. And that’s not ok with any decent gold investor.. but hey, I guess there’s something for everyone

I heard jacoje and HB get there solid gold ropes from the same supplier. Hollow fromHB is from a differnt supplier and light weight and don't look right and are a waste of money but Hawaii rope chains has some of the best on the market for sure

Thank you! I’d def go with a moissy piece 👌🏽. As far as 8 or 12 mm, I’d say go with the bigger one, Like Braden from Jacoje always says. And if you’re going with bling, you might as well go bigger. As far as daily wear, the 12mm is definitely more of a presence. Like a lot more. But if that’s your thing, go for it. It’s a bit much for me. I rock a 6mm 14k gold with no diamonds on the daily. So I’m more subtle. But 8 or 12 would look great too. Whatever you feel comfortable in is perfect!

Thanks a lot. I think I'll go with the 12. I don't wear chains and do prefer solid gold/silver but thought a moissanite would be pretty cool and since it's fairly cheap I wouldn't mind damaging it since stones are quite easy to replace.

Depends what you’re goin for. Personally, I think 12mm is the perfect size for asserting a presence, without being too extra gaudy or try hard looking. But like I said, depends on your size and what you’re going for

I tested it off camera at a store before I got my own tester. Shows as diamonds on cheaper more common testers. Moissanite on more high -end testers.

You might be right! I’ve been trying to be clear about that. And yes, it’s basically the same plating, but with silver. However, it has to be a certain level of thickness, 2.5 microns. Which is not a lot, but a standard, nonetheless. Also, silver is known to bond to gold better than other metals. So far, it’s been holding up a lot better than your average “gold plating”. But time will tell. I’m not trying to market for any company or anything, so idc if it’s a couple months or a couple years. I just want the TRUTH! Lol.

Hey bud! Good question. I’ll start off by saying this, I am horrible at deciding what length and width of a chain to get lol. Mainly because I think they all look good for different reasons and I’m always changing my mind, so I’ll get BOTH! 😩. ESPECIALLY when it comes to what I like, vs what my lady likes on ME. The thing to try to remember is that, it’s going to be on YOU. So I would lean more towards what YOU like and what YOU feel comfortable with. I get wanting to get what your girl feels will look best on you too. I totally get that. Often times, I end up getting both what I like, AND what my girl likes lol. Then, i end up wearing what I like most more often, and my lady gets used to it and ends up liking that better anyways. Since I’m wearing it, I feel best in it, so I probably am happier and that shows and makes you look better. So like I said, careful asking ME, cause I’ll say, get both haha. Anyways, I’m happy to make a short video on that for you. I currently have a 12mm, 16in iced out Cuban that my girl wears. It’s too short for me. 18in feels great on me though. Doesn’t choke, and looks great. I’m 6 ft, 170lbs. I MIGHT have an 8mm as well. I’ll have to check. I’ll figure something out though. I’m out of town ATM, but when I get back in a few days, I gotcha! And for the record, personally, I always say, if you’re between 2 sizes, go bigger. And if you already have the 8mm, and you’re wanting bigger, even a little bit, then it sounds like you already kinda know what you really want 😉.

And that’s a wise way to look at it. As an investment, I’d def recommend 18k and up as well. 14k isn’t bad at all though if you’re looking to scratch that gold itch! You do get the best bang for your buck with the higher karats and they appreciate better than 10k and 14k. 18k is tougher than jewelers give it credit for too, especially in necklaces rather than bracelets, as long as you’re mature about how you handle it. 24k, I’d say is better for special occasions, but looks and feels amazing ✨.
