    New strings sound brighter, but I don't think better. 20 year old strings, and they still sound quite pleasant. Maybe I just need to play for 19 years more to make the guitar sound better X)

    Can I do this with a single pedal? My reverb pedal won’t work no matter what I do. It’s powered on and has worked before on my practice amp but the head and cab won’t work

      Thanks for the comment. Setting up your pedal signal is an art; I get what you're saying, for this amp it kinda has its own flavor with it setup like this. Maybe not for everybody as a hard and fast rule.

    awesome video! ive been playing acoustic for like 3 years now, and i want to play other genres like blues and rock... i don't want to go straight to a full solid body yet so im starting with a semi hollow? is that a good choice?

    I tried this with my Joyo Zombie-ii and it sounds great when I hook just my eq pedal to the loops, but if I add my distortion pedal, it literally goes from silence to 180 decibels just turning the volume knob on the front of the amp. So I'm forced to plug my guitar into the distortion and then distortion in to front. What am I doing wrong, why does it act like that? I thought you could do distortion pedal in your effects loop? I use the clean channel on the amp with the gain turned completely off.

    • @MattCiprianoMusic
      @MattCiprianoMusic 3 місяці тому

      It’s probably best to run your dry effects into the front of the amp with your guitar signal and your wet effects through the loop. The amp that I am featuring in the video has 2 channels (clean and overdrive). I’m not as familiar with Joyo products and that amp may not play nice with some of your pedals you are using. Keep experimenting though. You’ll figure out the limits of that amp; try some other ones as well.

      There’s no right or wrong answer to that. I’d experiment with it and see what works best for your rig. If you hear tone loss or volume loss that will be a good indicator to keep trying different configurations of the signal chain

    The weird thing is after selling my first couple guitars, when I got out of the military I bought an old Acoustic from a kid in Oklahoma about 47 years ago when I was in Commercial pilot school and the weird thing is I'm still playing the same strings on that this very day. I've always called that guitar the magic guitar because though I had already written a couple songs, I wrote most of mine with that guitar. I've always been afraid to because it still sounds good! I have in my plans lately because I think it's about time. Thx Matt. Subscriber JOE. Lake Havasu, Arizona.

    • @MattCiprianoMusic
      @MattCiprianoMusic 7 місяців тому

      That’s crazy Joe that those strings have held up this long! I don’t think I have ever heard of strings keeping alive that long. My friend’s Martin has had the same strings on it for like 6 years and it still sounds good. But that’s nowhere near 47 years. Keep playing and writing songs. Sounds like that guitar has a lot to say. Take care Joe

    Heylo, Been a Willie fan for darn near 45 years. You're updated research is correct. Shot Jackson couldn't fix the Baldwin guitar and sold Willie the '69 Martin N-20 and put the Baldwin pickup and bridge on the Martin. Not verified is whether the $750 may have been the price for the guitar, alone or if it had included the modifications. By today's standards, the Prismatone is a very old school piezo electric design. Advanced for the time, and primarily designed to amplify the Burns made for Baldwin classical guitars, if I am not mistaken. The Baldwin guitars, themselves, are said to not exactly be the best choice that the classical purist would pursue For the tone hunter: the subject truly is really deep and not for the faint of heart. "The secret is in the pickup" - Willie Nelson For Willie's sound, The pickup is only part of the puzzle. Pickup, preamp, and the specific amplifier that Willie uses, which happens to be a Baldwin C1 Professional with the unique Super Sound tone control. Willie carries about a half dozen of these old amps on the road as a backup insurance should an amp fail. That said the amplifier is as critical to Willie's tone as the pickup with it's unique bridge and the Martin N-20B with it's unique specs. So.... for the tone nutters out there. Take time to consider the entire chain. All the contributing factors (aka ingredients) under a microscope. At some point, you will come to this conclusion: Willie could let Chet Atkins or Glen Campbell play Trigger, on the biggest stage or in the recording studio and not touch anything, and they may still fall way way short of duplicating that legendary sound. Why? Pay attention.... It's called.... "Bone Tone" Bone tone is like a fingerprint of the soul. Everyone has a unique fingerprint. Everyone has a soul. Therefore.... "Bone Tone" is YOUR unique sound. And.. It will bleed over, regardless what you play. Discover your bone tone, then search for what works best for you as you develop your Bone Tone. Back to Trigger..... To get that sound, you have to be Willie.

    • @MattCiprianoMusic
      @MattCiprianoMusic 7 місяців тому

      Wow! I couldn’t agree with you more. Thank you soo much for this insightful comment. There is so much history behind Trigger. I appreciate your careful consideration of all the details. I love your comment at the end … It’s simply Willie himself. I’ve never heard of bone tone before but I get it. There’s more to his tone than something we can measure. Thanks so much!

    • @Twinhit
      @Twinhit 7 місяців тому

      @@MattCiprianoMusic , No problem. Yup, with bone tone, is more to anyone's sound than the physical hardware guitar, amp, room specs etc etc. etc. There is technique, then mood, inspiration and the mental and or spiritual side of it all. It really is a deeeeeeep subject to explore. It's that thing Muddy Waters summed up as "Mojo" and Johnny Cash called "Get Rhythm". Its the inner you shining through. We are all individuals. Unique in who we are, each and every one. And as I understand the old story, even Willie Nelson was chasing that "hardware" sound. What sound? Django Reinhardt sound. Willie couldn't find it, satisfactory, until he received the Baldwin guitar and amp combo to cut through the live mix. Until then, it was grin and bear it making do with what you have. Meanwhile, he was polishing his tone bone. Remember he loved that Baldwin sound so much, he asked Shot Jackson to butcher a brand new Martin guitar, sight unseen. So he could be heard. Deep stuff. Complex stuff. So.... Willie developed his tone bone to his satisfaction and having done so, he found his sound. It really is a deep subject that I enjoy exploring. Willie is now 91 years old as of yesterday 4-29-24. Hate to think of his passing but I imagine he doesn't have too much time left. Definitely a man who does not want to give up. Not many musicians have pushed it that far like he has. 👍🤠👍
