Andy stanley is not a good pastor. He said "unhitch from the old testament". His entire sermon was to stop reading the old Testament. He's appealing to new agers. Jimmy probably meant charles Stanley - his devout bible-believing dad.

He's definitely not wearing a suit to sacrifice his time and look nice for the Lord; or to show people he went to church. When you leave church, does anybody know you went to church? Or do you just blend in with our sinful society?

He doesn't wear a suit because he wants to make other's feel comfortable? So taking time out of your day, stepping out of your comfort zone for Jesus at the risk of making others uncomfortable isn't good enough? Thats sounds very worldly. What else does Jimmy not do in the honor of Jesus because he wants to make others feel comfortable? I'm sure he wore a suit to the job interview. Question for everybody...based on what you wear on Sunday's - does anybody know you are Christian and went to church as soon as you step out of church? Or do you just blend in with the world. We are not meant to blend in with the world.

A very touching service for Uncle Sonny. I'm sorry I was unable to attend in person but glad this was captured here so I could watch. Sonny was an amazing uncle and I have many fond memories at "Sonny & Jean's house" from my childhood. They were always very kind and welcoming. Rest in peace Uncle Sonny. - Jason

I get what he's saying at the end but he shouldn't use the word "redeemed" so loosely. Jesus redeemed us by dying on the cross. That word shouldn't be used in any other context.

He didn't explain what Jesus meant by joy. It is the joy of knowing our sins are forgiven and we wont go to hell for eternity. This is what he means. And that "joy" should make absolutely every trouble in life seem trivial. Nothing in life compares to eternity in hell.

1:00:25 Pastor Jimmy why do you take good biblical ideas and make them confusing. The inspired written "word" of God is the bible. The other "word" of God John was talking about was Christ himself. They are not the same thing. Your blending 2 different meanings of the word "word". Good sermon but people should leave with a clear understanding of biblical concepts.

1:10:55. Sorry to nit pic but the power Jesus promised the apostles was not what Jimmy explains it is. Jimmy is right in the explanation about our unique abilities and duties, but shouldn't use the bible verse about power to explain it. Many pastors are too anxious to tie in a legitimate Christian principles with actual bible verses. It's really stretching the Gospel. We all do it. We think of something Christian and immediate look to see if its in the bible. And many times its not directly in the bible but is in the spirit of Christianity. But we naturally do this. I just like to make people aware of it.

Feel blessed to be able to watch on line. While Jimmy was preaching about the Holy Spirit I felt His presence looked out my window and a white dove flew by God is so good and He is Lord. Love my church and wish I could be there.

Im not sure why the church admin feels there is uncertainty and disunity especially with a new pastor. Its a very presumptuous assumption of the congregation and in a negative way. Almost like they are anticipating bad thoughts about the new pastor. Nobody is against the new pastor or each other. The real message of the sermon came out at the end....go easy on the new pastor and dont fight amongst yourselves. They did the same kind of sermons when the interim pastor came in a year ago - the administration was so concerned about us all getting along. Its such a bad perspective of the congregation and its quite offensive to think we behave like children with a substitute teacher. I dont care for sermons that a subtly trying to convince of something earthly. Kinda like when churches have sermons about how Christian it is to give - then remind everybody at the end that the church cant meet its monthly budget.

Whats broken is our assumption that we're supposed to pursue unity.... Alrighty then.

Maybe a fathers day message would be to not (at least openly) love one child over another. Nobody seems to talk about this lesson.
