Fixing Crank No Start - 2006 Chevy Silverado

Finally got my Silverado up and running! Issue was a crank no start. My truck would run fine for about 10-15 min then cut off. After stalling, I would attempt to turn truck on and it would just crank. Until after 2-4 hrs of letting it sit and cool off the truck would start right up then cut off again after 10-15 min. Solved it by replacing pigtail connection to the CAMSHAFT SENSOR, behind the t...

    You could have wired the USB socket directly with the original wiring of the lighter. No need for the included fuse since you have eliminated the cigarette lighter the USB socket will be connected to the fuse of the cigarette lighter in the car's fusebox, Good job BTW

    mY CK 1500 v6 1998 starts easyly in the mornings and when is cold, but after a short run it is giving me a hard start. New plugs, new ignition coil...I am thinking of gas pump, but as I said if it starts in the morning or when has been off for some time and it is cold, starts easyly, so it is not the gas returning to the tank because a faulty check valve, what would you think could it be ? tomorrow I will check with the computer to check for an error code. But if you have any suggestion I really would appreciate it. thanks a lot, Ramon, Miami.

      When it hard starts does it crank for a bit and turn over first attempt and drivable after or?? I would definitely scan truck for any codes. I’d check all possible ground cables for any corrosion or looseness. Also I would check crank sensor cam sensor and starter to see if connections power ground etc are good. Also check fuel pressure with gauge to see if it’s a good strong pressure and compare it to cold start crank vs the weak crank.

    I agree with kasb58. I’ve heard that for every 10 km going faster than 100kmph, the average fuel consumption goes up 10%. So 100 kmph is 62 mph and change and 10 kmph is 6.2 mph. You’re talking about not doing 80-90 mph, but what’s the average speed you’re doing on the hwys? Also I feel like cars don’t calculate fuel usage while parked but idling or stopped in traffic, so if you take those variables out of the equation but the vehicle is still running that accounts for some of the computers increased fuel economy numbers vs doing the math of actual distance travelled and actual fuel used.

    • @victor_beltran
      @victor_beltran 4 місяці тому

      I averaged 70 mph, think I mentioned in vid. Only doing 70 rn since I’m still in break in period & got 900 miles on the clock. Once I drive back home from work I’ll be out of break in period and with a good oil change I’ll run another test going 75-80 to see what mpg I can get.

    • @victor_beltran
      @victor_beltran 4 місяці тому

      I did the math in city driving base off of miles I drove and by hand I figured out about 14mpg. With shit 87 fuel or whatever courtesy fuel the dealership topped off my truck with. On this truck when idle you can see your fuel economy drop. Literally 🤦🏻‍♂️seems like this 5.0 chugs some gas at idle. I’m sure you can save it by keeping to start/stop engaged but I shut mine off every time I get in truck. Did have lots of idle time tho so I do feel that 17 ford says you can get in city is pretty reasonable.

      @@victor_beltran After 100 tries and various fuses removed, I can confirm that just pulling the radio fuse does not work. It worked as soon as I physically separated the aftermarket radio. I called Superchips the other day too and that was also their first suggestion. It blows my mind how that has to be done. Especially when it's always worked for me, up until now, with this same radio.

      The backup camera came with red (power) black (ground) and purple (which I heard is needed to be used if you have a 2003 or older model) . Not sure where that purple cable goes connected I didn’t use it.

    Hey! Im new to all this, your video is pretty straightforward and helpful. Just a couple of questions, Your wipers still work right? You didn't just replace one thing for another? Where did you find your amperage for the lights?

    • @victor_beltran
      @victor_beltran 6 місяців тому

      Thanks I try to make my videos simple to the point and easy to follow. Yes wipers still work neither of the two fuses on the fuse tap have blown. As far as amperage I’m not sure the actual watts the led strip pulls but I got two 15A fuses so def enough to allow current flow for wipers and light strip. & I chose wipers simply cuz they will only engage when truck is on so that way I ain’t gotta worry about strip being on when I have truck off.

    • @pandaww.
      @pandaww. 5 місяців тому

      Them strips around 2amp .. 15amp if something messes up that's gonna melt them wires or worse .. down grade the fuse to 5amp or even 2amp

      @victorbeltran9344 you won't have an issue till it decides to melt ya wires or catch fire 🔥.. most led strips are less than a 2amp draw

    • @pandaww.
      @pandaww. 5 місяців тому

      @victorbeltran9344 fuses protect wires so if your using 16awg then sure a 10amp fuse will be fine , for example. ...hour fuse needs to be lower than what your wires can take .. like I've wired in led strips to my van and I'm using. A 5 amp for 2 led strips and a 2amp fuse for a amazon alexia .. stick a 2amp fuse in if it blows it properly won't then go to to 5 amp fuse

    I didn't see any USB-A inputs for plugging in an iphone to charge or play music. Does this Boss model have any USB ports on the back? If i do manage to set it up for complete wireless use then it won't really matter, but if I can't get all the wireless parts or the system working right away I'd want to use my phone plugged in temporarily

    You could consider buying a fleece all light on module. It allows you to keep your low beams and fog lights on with your high beams . I have it installed on my Silverado and it’s definitely an investment.

      Should be if it’s same interior. Heard 03s or 02s have a slightly smaller dash so you may have to get a bezel for double din stereo to fit? Also the purple wire for the camera may give you issues. I did not have to use purple wire. All wires were plug and play. Backup camera goes straight into play when in reverse and steering buttons work as well.
