No, but if it’s a small crack you can fill it out with shavings fr the bisque and fill it in then drop the glaze in to packed all the grog (powdered bisque) then fire it . It might seal a small crack

It’s good to train your self with 25% then 20% in two different bowl. The cobalt settles at the bottom which is pure dark if not diluted. So try to be conscious when you dunk your brush down the bottom. I will suggest practice and test first because it is like water color effect. Enjoy painting. The highlights obviously is white, meaning your brush shd be 100 water on thet section. Like monochromatic effect.

Yes fresh clay repair before kiln firing. The slip or liquid clay must be thickened and paste like. Applied few layers.

1:51 is white because I painted it white with underglaze to make the color intense. You have a choice not to. Because the clay is dark it helped to color the front white. I hope it helped. Underglaze is a colored decoration on a clay. You can buy different color .

@SetGozo but is glaze a type of paints? I mean, I need to buy glaze paints for polymeric clay? Or is that how the technique is called?

glaze is a specialty paint you have to take basic ceramic class because it requires kiln or oven baking. If you want a non bake colors you can use acrylic paint but not shiny. You can use a clear spray paint. Experiment.

Oil paint is not for this technique but you can if you want not really used to much for clay. Clay we use glaze you baked or fire in a kiln the second time to give color.

@SetGozo ok. I've seen people baking it in the oven, adding color and baking it again . Some others only paint once after baking. Why is that? Is it because of the paintings?

@@erperejildo I think it’s another material not for kiln firing. If you go to Blicks art store ask the staff they might have something. I do not use those. Oven is fired only up to 500 degrees ceramics is up to 3,000 degrees

Porcelain or stoneware. At times reclaimed left over clay. Fired cone 04 (1900 degrees) the first fire then cone 6 (2220 degrees) for second firing or glazing

Yes, I have videos that show that too!!I started with a tube to support the head and the slab rolled clay around the body and connect shoulder with the neck. The head is two bowls connected to make a sphere then start adding hair, nose, shoulder etc. the thickness must be 1/2 inch always cut it open to thin out and reconnect by scoring/ scratching then slip and coil to seal the connection. I used them straight with water only. Try not to touch because it will smear. Frit can be added if you have some. But I usually don’t. Enjoy

It’s is powder. I added water. Tests for intensity bec. It is very dark blue. Wash technique like water color is the feel. It smear when dry after painting so avoid touching when drying.
