I have only been on Hokkaido, so can't comment or compare to e.g. Hakuba. I think the biggest difference to Europe is the snow, quality and quantity. In Europe, I feel you need more luck to get premium pow dump. On Hokkaido, you need some luck as well, but changes are better. To get better changes, reserve enough time and ensure you are flexible. Rental car is a must if you want to get to good placed early and/or outside of resorts. If it dumps, you need to be there early. Follow the weather and be ready for late plan changes. My favorite place has been Rusutsu. Also.. one big difference is altitude. In European Alps you are at quite high altitude. In Japan, mountains are lower. This means that you want to go there rather early in the winter when it is still cold (below zero). Do not compare numbers! Altitude, amount of slopes, amount of lifts, length of slopes DO NOT MATTER. The only thing that matters is quality and amount of snow and if you can ride it! Be prepared to ride in trees and forests. Well, then the culture is.. different. There are better places to find information about Japanese culture. Open mind and some understanding/tolerance for the different way of living required. And be prepared not to understand everything.

@@SakuTiainen 100% all about quality. Alps feels far too over crowded at times. I’m grinning gleefully inside just thinking about tree runs and fresh powder!! Was it all gone by march? Europe normally gets a nice April dump, but seems like it will all be gone by then and should start in November/December?

@@SakuTiainen Looking really good. My father bought a 82 SC in that colour. Unfortunly the pre owner painted it in dark blue. Now we will rebuild the whole car and we think about the choise of the colour. I prefer the original zinn metallic, my father like Indish Red more. So I need some examples of the car in zinn metallic to convince him 🙂

Yes, I have seen those discussions years ago.. I think one common opinion is that if you have rear wing, you must also have front lip. But not other way around. I think there were front-lip-only cars from factory. Never heard anyone having any problems with this setup. IMO, visually this is the best setup :D

@@SakuTiainenFront lip only was indeed one original factory spec. It makes sense - it was always an issue that the front end would become light at higher speeds. And if you add a rear wing that emphasizes the problem. With the lip only front end lift is reduced but of course it has to be known that there isn't any added aero support at the rear so the car might not be as stable at autobahn speeds as a full sport spec would.

​​@@varmastiko2908in fact, if you look at the latest spirited driving focused models, e.g. the new S/T, they want to keep rear spoiler down as long as possible because it spoils (no pun intended) the looks of the car.

Roughly 6.5 kEUR. I didn't do the work by myself. Parts consisted mostly new set of pistons, bearings, seals, service parts, machining heads, valves.
