Heyy, nice! I have to say, it was really cool to see you delving into a new style here, and you really went all-in with it. I know you had been talking for awhile about making a dubstep track (and I really hope you do sometime), but this EDM hybrid approach was definitely a pleasant surprise. The sidechained sawtooth lead is really a major departure from your usual orchestral style, and it goes well with the driving 4-count beat. If you don't mind my saying so, I think the sidechain effect interferes with the rhythms of that synth when it solos in the beginning, so if it's not built into the synth itself, it might help to automate the effect dynamically to fit the timing of syncopated notes (or even automate it to turn the effect off), like at 0:12 and 0:27. I usually don't like to nake critical remarks, but I know you've mentioned on different occasions that you welcome constructive remarks, so I hope it comes across well. The piano segments sound great, and I think they really help to vary the energy and changr the flow of the song. The risers leading up to big changes in phrasing are a great addition, as well, and I think they'd be well-accompanied by a cymbal crash or downsweep/downlifter to help release the tension from those big build-ups. The drums have great punch here, and I like how dense the hi hats are in particular. Also, that bass has great warmth and depth, and it can be heard easily even on small speakers, which is no simple thing to execute! And I also have to mention that the arrangement is super creative - the different improvsed segments, especially in the piano features, sound like natural extensions of thr original song! By the way, excellent work with thr thumbnail, as well! I honestly thought it was an official art asset from somewhere until I saw your timelapse video, and I was really just blown away, watching the sketch come to life, with some seriously top-tier linework, shading, and highlights. It's so cool that you made your own artwork for this video, and I hope you continue to pursue both artistic ventures with your remixes. Once again, great work, and big kudos for really exploring new musical territory here! 🌟
