Pack Llamas & Fly Fishing | Spring Training
Llama content is at a premium on the tube. Please keep making these educational videos. They are very helpful. I am less than a year away from getting my own llamas and I struggle to find good educational content. Books on the subject are even harder to find. Maybe you are a writer? Something to think about.
Hi @jimhoffman768. Thanks for the feedback. Now that our busy times of summer and fall are nearly over, we’ll be focusing on more content. We also have education Llama How-To Seminars: owning, training and raising llamas which will be a session in April, May and June in Bozeman, MT. We have people attend from all over that states. He is up directly if you have any specific questions we can help with.
Great video
This is great. I’m down in NM but I used to live in Whitehall, MT. Do you guys have a llama packing school in Bozeman?
Hi Michael. Yes we run a pack school out of Bozeman plus outfit summer and fall hunting trips near Butte, MT. Come join us back in Montana!
When the next pack school ?
Nice i like llamas
Do you have any Llama for sale?
What kind of panniers on the 2nd group of llamas?
Hi Michael. They are not panniers. It’s half a bale of hay on each side in a manty of plastic wrap. Usually manties use canvas. This was an experiment of hauling hale to my elk camp. When box hitched, this works really well with the Black Thunder saddles which are similar to the classic decker mule saddle.

HI Jim. We plan to have Part 2 come out soon. Just doing final edits. Sorry for the long delay. Summer and fall had us very busy. Stay tuned!
Great vid. Great gear. Thanks!
Thank you!
When will they be for sale again?
Hi Steven Hoyt. We just sold out and are in production. As of now, we should have more within next couple of weeks. How many are you interested in?

Questions. Horses and llamas. Can they be working together????
Hi Randy. Horses and llamas can get along like most animals if they spend time together and its safe and secure. If you mean working together while packing on the trail, then I personal think its not a good idea. Horses pace is 3-4 MPH whereas a llama is more a human hiking pace at 1.5-2.25 MPH. Plus if llamas are in a string behind a horse, I would be worried the horse may want to barrel kick back. Horses behavior in that regard is much different than llamas. Llamas don't kick at each other. They actually prefer to chest bump each other. Hope this helps. Happy to answer any other questions.
@@montanallamaguides Thank you so very much was a lot of help
