I recently did just this-basically. In the face of a covert bullying tactic, I said, "you're mental," but I said it with a tiny bit of emotion, which was unwise. Bullies love any emotional reaction. It is their supply. You are right on both counts. Healthy people don't bully and it is super weird!

Thank you for this video. I'm an introverted 34 year old that believes in being polite to others, but I've been alienated by half my course class last year because a bully told them to avoid me. It's been 10 months and I have been questioning why the people I thought were my friends would turn their backs on me. I was already struggling with depression because of the passing of my grandparents, and the bully was the cherry on top. I felt helpless and confused for the longest time, but this video actually helped me understand.

Very true. Most bullies want to feel that you're weak because behind that they have felt weak themselves and bullying is the way they avoid the realisation that they were powerless at some time previously. It's so subconscious though that some people can never realise that is what's behind it. They continue because it makes them feel temporarily strong and better about themselves.

Some American teens are the worst teens I have ever seen. They do bully as taken for granted. I have seen a girl got Bullied and when I tried to help her,it's was a horrific experience for me. I was thinking about their Parents, they are fail on their parenting.Disgusting culture in some point 😣😣

I'm in the UK and have to say what we see on tv and media about US school bullying is pretty vile. We want to believe the TV and film portrayals aren't true but I'm not confident that's the case. Your comment implies I'm right.

I feel like people are usually praising themselves for not being bullied, but bullying isn't something that only happens to the weak. It's complicated and hurts many people in the process. I straight up threathened the kids who bully others, told them to not dare to touch me, I also have incredibly strong support systems and am very stubborn when it comes to my safety, and I'm not bullied. but the thing is, that people who are being bullied have done those things too, also have a strong support system, etc. it's not about not wanting to be bullied, or standing up. It's just a complicated and messy situation.

sometimes kids bully, because they've been bullied too, (either by peers or parents). they don't know a world without bullying, in their heads it's either bully or be bullied. those are incredibly sad cases but someone has to stop it still. I was a kid like that, I was pretty mean to one of my classmates in elementary, I regret it incredibly now. I can assure you that no matter how confident those kids may seem, they have many many bad experiences

The adult bully has raised in my work place... have not stood up for last 4-5 times. But I was hoping the manager will sort but the manager turnes out useless. I am a strong person but I kept quiet as I had a hope in my manager. Well, not anymore, I will reply with wit and planning my phrases. There will be one day sooner or later she is going to be a bully again and this time, the hope is ME.

From a very young age I wore thick eyeglasses , Braces on my teeth and both legs were in bent plaster casts. NEVER was I bullied bc if they did I'd laugh with them , I accepted my condition . My casts were adorned with signatures and colour's by all the kids.

Maybe my scenario isn’t unique. However, being a man being bullied by a female is not a good time for me. I’ve successfully countered things that she said to me in a mostly level headed manner although my frequency of going to the place where she sometimes works as a volunteer has trailed off significantly. So, she’s won by default for the most part. I don’t trust myself enough that I won’t counter her hate too strongly and bring increased tension to the whole situation that I’m not happy to endure so avoidance is what I have been doing. The weirdo characterization towards her might make her uncomfortable enough to stop which I am willing to give a shot unless someone has some alternative strategies that they are willing to share

As an adult, I've been telling people who attempt to bully me, to f* off and to stop projecting their insecurities onto me, I say to them 'f* off, thats what you are, thats what you think about yourself'. I'll start calling them weirdo and weirdos too. There are so many insecure and unhappy weird adult bullies out there who need to be shut up for good as if you don't tell them sometimes they don't learn.

I had children run away from me,my hair pulled by my so called friend, she would squeeze my cheeks very hard...it hurt,i had a soccer ball kicked onto my head, some other guy spit spitballs repeatedly into hair and hee wouldn't stop,i had a group of boys hit me repeatedly on my head with hard cover books and they were saying some kind of mocking sounds, i was an all A student,i came from a poor family,my marks dropped from an all A student to someone who was getting 2% and couldn't manage to pass anything.I had no support system to come back home and say what was happening to me cause i would have been picked on more.I was also picked on for having an always pregnant looking ugly old mother

How do I deal with the way I’m being bullied as an adult? I’m being indirectly bullied because the women in my refuge are bitching about me behind my back for sleeping on the sofa because I feel safest there due to my room being unsafe because of my Epilepsy as I had a fit there two weeks ago on Monday gone and the women won’t say anything to my face because they are for strange reason intimated by me and I think it’s cos they know that they are struggling to break me down but my biggest fear is that cos I’m too scared to sleep in my room in the refuge due to my medical condition that cos sleep deprivation I could end up fitting again and then they will be accountable for the fact cos they bullied me for sleeping on the sofa and feeling safer and if I go back to my room then I’ll be in danger of injuring myself again cos of my fits. Please kindly advise. Thank you very much 😐

Bullshit! Bullies most often take advantage of one of your weaknesses, personal secrets that you don't want to share with others, and a direct confrontation would expose you even more to others. For example, a medical condition that you don't want to make public...

I was bullied by my older brother and my mother sanctioned it and often participated. They were a team. Water dunking torture, bug chasing, sitting on me and doing TT on my chest, pulling up my shirt to try to show my budding chest, wedging my underwear, waking my up with scary mask on in the middle of the night, holding me down and farting on my face, verbal abuse about my looks. The list is endless. I am no contact with my brother for over 40 years and my mother for 4 years now. It took me so many years to realize that my mother was still bullying me every time we spoke. Just so toxic! Thankfully, I managed to come out with a good sense of who I am. Just FYI: That photo of me in the circle is me right before my mother chopped all my beautiful hair off while I sobbed. I keep it as a reminder of how hateful they were. I am here to help my 7-year-old grandson with an older and bigger school bully. We are practicing how to be more powerful. Thank You.

I am so deeply sorry for what you were put through. Just remember that you have goodness on your side, while all they had was cruelty. Cruelty is barren soil. Nothing can grow there. But in goodness, everything blooms.
