An avid flight sim enthusiast since FS98. I’m using this channel to share my experiences and particularly my journey to becoming more competent on VATSIM.

This morning (thanks to the cat for waking me up early!) I take the famous Trislander 'Joey' for a wee run. No commentary as it was very early... Great little aircraft and really cheap on the Marketplace currently. Good excuse to explore the Channel Islands!

Today, we take the Skyvan by inibuilds/Asobo form Tiree to Glasgow on the BEA Scottish service. Until we have full liveries from the wonderful artists out there (I'm not one of them!), the paint schemes shipped with the product will have to do. This morning, we're off on a short commuter flight from Basle to Frankfurt. The weather gets a little more wet and wintry as we arrive at our destination - certainly makes for a squirrelly landing! Taking our inaugural flight for vVIR Virgin Atlantic Virtual. Only a quick hop from Glasgow to London Heathrow in the Horizon Simulations rendition of the Boeing 787-9. An update was released on the aircraft hours after recording this video, so some elements may be out of date.

My fourth or fifth flight on the VATSIM network, jumping head first into a large event with a flight that follows the real world Eurowings EWG32X from Berlin to Alicante. I started recording the taxi out to the runway as I had forgotten to do it earlier in the set-up phase! One of the first VATSIM flights I've undertaken. There's certainly room for improvement (like not shouting down the mic!). Flying the FlyByWire A32NX, which is sounding great after a recent update. Just a fairly short video, purely so I could debrief how I performed and evaluate on what I can improve for next time.

Any idea how to get rid of the Cabin Heat warning ? I looked all over the cockpit and couldnt find any cabint heat switches or knobs or levers
@@jobravo1205 the cabin heat controls are down the left hand side near the front door. The warning comes on when the engine air switches are turned on, and from what I understand, those only get switched on during descent.

Eh? The exterior sounds aren’t quite accurate. Interior sounds were well done. Ain’t no skyvan that quiet and I’ve seen this plane so many times irl and it’s really loud.
@@caribbaviator7058 Yes, you are correct. I was referring to his voice, the last time he was having issues with his mic, and it was very difficult to hear him. Cheers.
I enjoyed this video, thoroughly enjoying the Skyvan too. More complex and immersive than the bn2 which is ready for some updating. Struggling to find real world routes that the skyvan flew so this is welcome
I remember building (badly) the Airfix kit of the Skyvan in its Olympic Airlines livery. They had 2 or 3 and used them for inter-island flights, very similar livery to BEA actually but lacking BEA's gorgeous red wing! The Omanis called it the five ton budgie :-)
Nicely done, thank you. You have a pleasant voice to listen to but as others mentioned, it was a bit low on the mic volume. Overall though, it was an enjoyable video. I hope you start doing more of these.

Awesome! I didn't realise they used to fly the Skyvan to Barra. Video was great - audio was maybe a bit quiet though?
Yeah, I need to work on that. Headset mic ain’t cutting it for a vid… The Skyliner was used to replace the Herons on the Glasgow-Tiree-Barra rotation 🤓 Guess I’m downloading the freeware Tiree now 😅
