Bowenville Reserve - Free Camp near Dalby QLD. MAD DASH to get a new gas hose.
Переглядів 1,5 тис.3 місяці тому
@oldfartsoz This vid we spend 3 nights at Bowenville Reserve. We find out we have a damaged flexible gas hose which means we can't run our 3 way fridge overnight. So we head to Dalby before everything closes otherwise we would have to head home. Great free camp. Plenty of space, clean toilets, no showers. Very quiet and lovely bird life. @oldfartsoz We spend 3 nights at Boondooma Dam. Unpowered site right on the water. There is a dump point, clean amenities including laundry and a kiosk for those small things you forget to pack. :) 20klm to Proston to stock up on supplies before heading in. Our 1.5klm walk ends up being approx 8klm, but we had glorious weather, kangaroos near our campsite and an abundance of birdlife on the wat...

Qld Coastline Ep 5 - Burnett Heads Near Bundaberg
Переглядів 7018 місяців тому
@oldfartsoz We head to Burnett Heads Lighthouse Holiday Park for 3 nights and try our luck at fishing. We could walk a couple hundred metres from the Park and be in town with a great cafe, pub, IGA, bakery etc. Was only approx 12-15 klms to Bundaberg yet it felt like you were in a small beach town. There were fish jumping out of the water the whole time. Music credits: Two Hearts by Tracktribe Freedom by Dan Le...

@oldfartsoz We leave Rocky Point Retreat and head to Barracrab Caravan Park at Clairview QLD. We travel 464klms and stay at Barracrab for 5 nights. We pay $36 per night for an unpowered site, which we thought wasn't too bad considering it was Easter Mon & School Holidays still. The sites are large grassy and alot on the beach side. There are amenities, camp kitchen, laundry, kiosk and even a ba...

@oldfartsoz We start our first leg of the journey at Rocky Point Retreat, Winfield QLD. We spend 3 nights here unpowered, water hookup for $27 night. Very busy as it is Easter weekend 2024. We have a go fishing off one of the local boat ramps but no luck. Would be great if we could have bought our tinny from home.
Getting ready to go again - how many fishing rods do we take away with us.

@oldfartsoz Heading off up north along the Qld Coastline to do some camping by the beach. The next 4-5 weeks are going to be full of fishing, crabbing and hopefully some catch and cooks. We are packing up the Jayco and Isuzu Dmax and leave in a couple of days. #Bafflecreek #RockyPointRetreat

@oldfartsoz This episode we stay at Atkinson Dam Holiday Park for 6 nights and catch up with our youngest son and his lovely wife and two grandies. We stayed on a powered site $40 per night. We try out the Kings 18 lb elect motor for our Kayak in pretty rough conditions. The Park has 2 resident koalas but we managed to get a glimpse of one on camera. We were camping in a heatwave but there was ...

It was so good to catch something different from carp
Love you guys and your content just showing how normal caravaners enjoy camping and also this trip catching fish. 🐟 👍 Keep them coming, I look forward to your videos. Kev and Carol.
Thanks guys. We had a great time

It was lovely and the bird life was very relaxing
Great episode guys!

It is a beautiful spot and no fish again 😊
Love the video, we have a similar aged van, we did the kitchen walls with the stick on tiles. Worked a treat
Any crocs in That part of the river?
We did see signs up that way
I thoroughly enjoyed your vid. I never knew pets were allowed. I’ll have to take my pup there next time.
Yeah it's great to be able to take our 4 legged friends.
Hi guys this is my first time here. It would be great if you could put the names of the towns so we can get oriented and perhaps a road trip map for those of us that don’t know where you are or where you are going as the audio in the car was hard to hear…I am 81 so the hearing isn’t as good as it used to be.
Hi, thanks for the suggestions will take it on board.
Kiaora Just came across your UA-cam, you are obviously kiwis, with some of the terminology you use, as I’m a kiwi as well and use the same, I was smiling. I Haven’t been to this dam yet, certainly looks nice, will check it out. Thanks, great video. Cheers Judy
That's awesome... Surprised us that you picked up on that. :) I came out from NZ in 1979 and Orchy was 1986.
Thanks for sharing another great camping spot. Another spot to put on our places to visit. Cannt wait for your next video. Keep them coming and enjoy the great our doors.
Thanks. We look forward to it.
They are a great van to tow. We have thought about doing g it got told the slip end are prone to breaking. So we didn't go through with it
I have a jayco freedom 16ft love it travelling around with the old girl
Yeah we do too. Just love ours. They are great vans.
@@oldfartsoz I got the axle put under my springs lifted it up higher towing with the hilux sits nice
Love your trips away, I enjoy them every time. Great to see you enjoying them as well and each other . Keep them coming.
Hey thanks for nice words. We really enjoyed that trip. Felt like a holiday
Great to see you back. Really enjoy your videos. Very down to earth. Thanks
Thank you for taking the time to comment. We hope to do alot more. Just got to give work the flick.
We use a teaspoon dipped in our hot cup of tea or coffee for midge bites. Just put it on the bite, have it as hot as you can handle without burning yourself. Been the best remedy that we have found helpful. We use the no frills Cole’s spray😊
Hey thanks for the hot tip 😉
thanks for showing this one, I look forward to seeing more of your videos. For some reason, I didn't get notification of Ep:05. I will check it out after this one. Yeah feck it (missed turn off) - look at it this way, you wouldn't have seen that river view!! Congrats for both your wedding anniversary and the newby grand kiddies! Yep rain is a downer for sure, but that potato cake meal looked awesome. Looking forward to your next outing.
Thanks very much for your lovely feedback
Did the same detour when we left Hervey Bay heading north 3 weeks ago. Always roadwork’s somewhere.
For sure
Congratulation on your wedding anniversary. Another great video. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much!
Hi guys. Great video. It’s super hard to find anything up to date on the Seaforth reserve. It’s dog friendly in that section now I see, but are there any powered sites in the dog section? And the amenities you pointed to in the video are the ones to use? Thanks in advance.
Hey 👋 There wasn't power hook up in dog section but there were a couple of taps and you had to walk through the other side of park to amenities. None in dog section.
grunskes in bundy u would of got the seafood u wanted.
Bummer. Will keep that in mind for next visit. Thanks 😊
Always wanted to get there but maybe next time we up that way. Great vid, keep them up. Thanks
It's been great to see some of the Qld coastline. We are keen to sus out the NSW coastline next
😂haven't had them for years but they did go down well I must admit
Seems like your in cat fish heaven lol ps my wife thought she was the only old fart that drinks west coast coolers 👍🍺🍺
Haven't had the old west coast for awhile, but she is not alone 😊
Where did you get the seating covers from please.
Shein online. But after our 3 week trip, they had a hole in them. Wouldn't recommend, we actually just put cushions in to get a quote on reupholstering. Will let you how it turns out
Good to see ya back again missed ru videos shame u could not fish ,a couple of kayaks would b nice.cheers
We were going to take kayak but Orch was worried about crocodiles from Rocky up 😃
Where did you get the dog cover in your car? Love it!!!!
Think it was ebay or Amazon and we love it too. Maggie has really coarse hair and sticks everywhere and our backseat still looks nee when we take cover off
Good to see ya back again. Promise I will always wash my hands before making damper.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thumbs up on your new audio, wahooo!!!! It's great to have you back, we missed you. ❤️
Thanks 😊
Your mics working perfect! Looking fwd to next video! Safe travels,
Awesome! Thank you!
Just stumbled on your video whilst doing a search on Woodgate. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Heading up that way soon..Good place to camp by the looks and dog friendly..Good to know where a dump point is too..Thanks for the info.. Good vid.
Have fun!
Hahaha, It's a hard decision Russell 😀 I totally understand the rod situation 👍🎣🎣🎣
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Perfect van, i like those types of van's, Would buy one like that rather than the new ones.👍😀
Hey Mike, yeah we love our little poptop. Someone once told us to stick to the older vans. So easy to tow and very comfortable
I've been thoroughly enjoying your videos. Tasmania was just amazing!!! I've watched it a couple of times now. I love how you cover all aspects of the trips, I feel like I'm in the passenger seat, I live in Degilbo 5km from Biggenden, I'm 61& haven't been to Mingo Crossing yet, I like Russell love fishing 🎣 so after watching your trip to Mingo Crossing I'll be going soon.😊
Hi 👋 we head off in 2 weeks to do some beach side camping up qld coastline. Can't wait.
Water levels seem to be rising bit by bit. I remember they dropped not too long ago because of the drought. Haven’t been there in some time though.
That fish you caught at Gordon was a trophy sized Black Bream, mate. A bloody ripper, and excellent table fish. Well done.
We still talk about Gordon. We loved our time there and will definitely be back there sometime. We met a fellow qlder at Beach Lagoon Camp and he told us about Gordon. So glad he did
I go there every holidays
Would love to know the name of that campground please
Hi, the place was called caravan and camping in Qld. caravancampingqld.com.au is their website
@@oldfartsoz thank you for that
Hiya, enjoying the vids, is this Buxton Bush Camp or Buxton Bush Retreat?
Lived out at Coominya for about 5 years from about 1992 - 1998. Went to Lowood High for year 11 and 12. Haven't visited for about 20 years or so now. Doesn't look as though it's changed much at all.
We have been told you could camp right by the water back in the day. It's a pity you can't now
Hi just started following you 2,do you live nanango area?🤩
Hey Kym we do lol
