I thought Toshikiyo Hirata was going to be on your list. Great video nonetheless!
might as well call it top 10 designers glazed by online fashion communities. even the pieces you mention are pretty common grails.
I see where you’re coming from but I am a product of the internet, it was the popular stuff that made me like fashion and from there I can form my own taste, I find nothing wrong with liking something that has niche popularity 🤔
tell us your top 10😅
Another good video💪🏼
Appreciate it, man! 🙌
goat feet when you have the pant leg over them. like hooves. and when tucked in, the shoe tongue looks like you're trying too hard to be Tony hawk pro skater. High school reject vibes. Could be hard if Rick didn't hike up the tongue halfway up the leg. Honest opinion
hey bro, love your vids, can you get the id of the first pair
@@leopenal743 a brand called easy rider!
Damn, I’m poor
ONLY $65??? Jesus Christ, people are overspending on clothes. I have several pairs of jeans from Old Navy that I purchased over 10 to 15 years ago all purchased for no more than $30 per pair. None of them have issues.
I’m all about the context, the story , how it’s made , the process etc. also, Ive been on a weird way of thinking to where I don’t mind paying full price to support the atelier that I love. Hopefully that made sense lmao
“quality” has become such a non-word in fashion mf discourse. You could replace “quality” with another non-word like “swag” in most of what people say and nothing would be lost. Some examples: “The more money is spent, the more swag you get, but that isn’t always the case. There is a big difference between high swag clothing and low swag clothing. This is a made in japan rick jean, so you know its high swag. You also have very low swag clothing like your h&ms and forever 21s. The potential for swag goes up and up, but to only to a degree and you get diminishing returns.” I’d like to see more discussion around what makes a garment quality, and discourse centered around how this should guide your valuations. Even in this video, the level of depth in this regard can be summed up to “thicker / heftier material, must be higher quality.
I've had pieces from Luxury brands that were comparable quality to fast fashion tbh... In my experience brands in the $200-$350ish price range MSRP usually have the best quality to price ratio, brands like EG, Y-3, Our Legacy (prior to some recent pricing increases), Stussy even though they're a bit over hyped at the moment.
Love thos discussion. Luxury made for wear is ridiculous when you get the same if not better quality elsewhere. But dang it has a chokehold on me.
Nice ducking little yap session
They’re narrow and the heel is out of control

I am going to disagree with you on this take. Buying your grail for footwear has been such a relief for me. I was always searching for the better, hotter nicer pair of shoes for a really long time. After I got a boot that I decided it doesn't get better than this, I no longer spend hours looking at boots. There is almost nothing that I can buy that will satisfy my fine shoe craving, therefore I no longer need to spend time searching for the itch
Damn brother, it's time to downsize! but fr really nice collection, i'm assuming you sold your other pair of Carols?
How’s the fit on the walker vietnams?
amazing collection, your passion really shines through!
Haven’t watched it yet, but I’m hyped! You have some of the best boots on UA-cam 😎
hope someday have a colection like yours
LETS GOO
I always tell myself after buying a grail, "I spent so much on this, I better wear it a lot to get my money's worth!!!"
i have a brown pair of the tornado zip man i love mines so much bro but i had to sacrifice my actual size for them....
i need a black pair too
I’m definitely someone guilty of all these outcomes and learned everything the hard way. Great vid!
🎉🎉🎉
Josh being like my fashion conscience rn😂❤❤❤
Not me getting this video recommended when I'm contemplating buying a guidi boot
This is a you problem. When I buy something I love, I buy it to wear it. How else would you show it you love it?
All great things to consider before buying, but ultimately I think we all need to make some mistakes. Nice video dawg
I can't relate to not wearing my grail pieces. Unless it is a suit where you want to avoid having to dryclean it thus shortening the lifespan, most of my wardrobe is intended to look and feel better with age. That said I can see how online shopping may make this more of an issue. People form an impression before getting it in their hands, when it arrives and its not what they expect you dread the hassle of returning it.
ngl josh saying you shouldnt buy your grails has the same energy as boomers who partied in woodstock telling kids to not do drugs, or parents telling kids to not have sex. its a lesson you can only learn in hindsight lmao. a lesson 99% of people learn after making the mistake.
You have to check out the new crocs Hydra boots. They’re so tuff
Last year I was able to cop my grail boot, CCP tornadoes in col 10. I have several guidis and some geobaskets I’ve owned forever, but wearing the tornadoes make me feel… different in the best way.
I guess I went knee deep into high fashion with my grail item being my first real designer piece. They are the Rick Kiss boots and I’ve had many grails before, but this was the first one that I actually decided I will go and get. They are really not for everyday wear, but I try to wear them as much as I can. I love them so much. That said, once you’ve acquired some grails, the next one will not be as special for most people. I stand lucky, because I find so much joy in buying every piece that I do. They all have this magical feeling about them.
What’s if the real grail was the friends we made along the way?😅😢
This high-key a solid take though..
What friends?
you cant be scared to wear your grails, they are clothes and the only way to get ur money worth is by enjoiyng them often. I also find myself doing this and have to remember I bought them to be worn.
I was just in the smoking car with an archive helmut coat on, just gotta rock out.
Ive def bought 'grails' that sit in my closet. Recently been prioritizing well made basics that fit well together i.e. 100% cotton/wool shirts, selvedge denim, gyw boots. Then i thrift my outerwear and accessories. Keeps it fun, economical, sustainable
Too late 😅 and I wear them every day
You should absolutely wear the boots A LOT, they're made to be worn and molded to your foot in the process, they will become more beautiful in the process. I have a pair of st3 boots from a1923 in horse culatta as well and I wear them a lot. Just make sure to care for them and they should last a lifetime.
My goodness! Just wanted to thank you so much for sending or making this video!! When I was a kid, I used to be totally into wearing black all the time but as I got older in my 20s late 20s that is I started wearing colored tinted glasses for my migraines and I completely changed my wardrobe…. But then something happened the last few years. Suddenly, I realize that I never wear black anymore and I missed it dearly. Even though I was wearing so many different colors and not really focusing on wearing black anymore my friends still called me the man in black because they always said that that’s how they always thought of me.!! This made me so happy and since then I’ve completely changed my wardrobe to wearing I would say 85% black mixed in with white and some real dark brown blue purple but only if they’re really dark! To behonest the color black is totally me and my style!!! I am so glad to meet someone that agrees!!! Love this bro! Thank you! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Hi all. Breathe air. To life. God created all things. He's the only God.
So here's an idea: buy directly from the Navajo?
i instantly clicked the video ... i dunno why
Love this vid man
🖤🖤🖤🖤 Josh🙏🏼 this video is like my alter ego convincing my other self that black is king
how can you not make an all black video with no karl
@@thefridaynightboi 🖤🖤🖤 my whole aura
I sort of heavily disagree with the general notion that all black is more simple than color. I think that it requires the same or even more effort to do all black. If it's more simple for the individual than that's great but for me personally I see it was more complicated since I have to focus more on the silhouette and texture. There isn't anything doing the heavy lifting.
I definitely see where you are coming from, I think a contributing factor in how easy it is to do all black or incorporate colors is how your wardrobe is built. My wardrobe definitely did not start easy to accommodate for all black but at this point it definitely is. So it’s all a process! And there are certainly no wrong answers
Buying black can be a great taking off point for developing your style. Like you said, you think much more about other aspects of clothing, like proportions, material, and quality. It is a good first step in developing your personal uniform in which you feel the most in your element
I completely agree! There’s an unspoken sophistication that I just love to feel when I’m in a well coordinated outfit
these are still the best sneakers you can buy imo
Agreed. My entire wardrobe consists of white, black, and earth tones. I throw on whatever in my closet and don't have to think. Everything just goes together and looks great. The only thing I have to take into consideration is the silhouette of the outfit.
My wardrobe is very much laid out similarly to what you’re describing. It took a long time to get there and there’s still work to be done but I’m thankful I’m at a place where I can say I am happy with what I have amassed over time!
Its funny because most of my tshirts are black. I love wearing q nice black tshirt i feel it looks best on me. I like it as a base color in my outfit. However, i do like pairing the black shirt with other colors clothing and not necessarily going full black just to give it some visual contrast.
Nothing wrong with creating contrast in an outfit!
