MMA is mixing martial arts. It’s not limited at all, it’s about using your understanding of technique to adapt to different situations. Karate rulesets are a great way to test your skills in different capacities. Not everything needs to end up on the ground or in a clinch. And not everything needs to look like UFC.

I think you guys should do it in a different gym or maybe you guys could do your styles without any rules. Since it was karate vs MMA, I think you guys may have been in a karate gym. Maybe you guys can go to an MMA gym to make it more fair that way one guy can freely use his karate skills, while the other uses his mixed martial arts skills freely. It would be more fairer because one person doesn't have to follow strict rules anymore if you guys sparred in an MMA gym. Overall though, I like the speed and the technique of both.

This is an MMA gym. Kajukenbo is one of the first MMA styles in America and has the oldest martial arts tournament in the US as well. This day we did many different sparring sessions, nobody was limited, this is one 30 second clip. Also, it’ll never be fair for my student until he has some more years and is old enough for me to go past 30%. He’s 15, that’s why the ruleset are limited in different capacities for different sessions. But it’s to focus on different aspects of his technique so he can improve in incremental fashion. It’s hard to learn when you have to focus on many(takedowns, grappling, ground game) things at once but easier when you can focus on a few things(kicking, punching, defense, footwork) so that later you can add them all together because you understand the intricacies of each aspect. 🥋

Red helmet seems like he has a karate base but has been training MMA. Which if this was a MMA fight that aggression would probably win him the encounter....I don't get why you would want to learn a style that limits your ability. You should be able to fight freely, even if that means you throw yourself off balance.

No, you should never compromise your balance to fight freely. Balance is one of the most important things in fighting and if you have none and fight someone like me who capitalizes on your off balance, your aggressiveness will be used against you because your coming forward into all my strikes with no solid base. We train kajukenbo which is one of the first mma styles from the USA. And it’s not limiting your ability, it’s training different aspects in depth, separately, to focus on them. We do all types of sparring, don’t limit yourself by taking 30 second videos out of context and get off the internet sooner or later and go train. It’ll change your life🥋

Oh wow this is actually pretty good. The student is a lil aggressive with no balance. What happens when ur a young 1 . Always moving quickly. Good stuff hope you know Jesus died on the cross, rose on the 3rd day And wants a relationship with you. Romans 10:9 New International Version If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
