Welcome to the channel! I'm Allan and I don't do this to make money - (I never will!).
I do this to share my experiences of riding motorbikes and hopefully, entertain you while I'm at it.
I also try to involve my viewers in the local history of the Peak District.
There will also be the occasional video relating to using action cameras for motovlogging, based on my personal experiences - good and bad!
Hope you enjoy the videos!

Hi how do I find out when you or where you gents meet up and if anyone can join the group. I live in Nottingham ?
Theoretically, the group is part of the Mercia section of the BMW club. We do have a few invited guests. Drop me an email with your contact details. Address is on my homepage
@@froglodytestravels hi Allen, I was unable to find your email address on your homepage 😊
froglodytestravels@outlook.com
The spent a huge amount of effort to get the motorbike jump in the last James Bond film too, all for just a few seconds screen time 😮 I live quite local so your videos are an inspiration for a ride out , thanks 👍🏻😎
I was sure you’d told the Lovers Leap one (unless ir was another bike vlogger) Black Harry Lane is interesting, must have passed it a few weeks ago but never noticed the lane. In terms of stunts I remember a lorry turning over being filmed at Ashover for Peak Practice, several hours there for a few seconds of footage
Another great video and local history lesson next chance I’m going to find Black Harry Lane been so close many times 👍
Sadly, you can't ride up there. No motorised vehicles allowed
Loved this! Incredibly interesting information. Thank you for sharing. ❤️xx
Fascinating video, really enjoy your work, many thanks for your effort - keep them coming please
I'm watching on my mobile phone and just had a look in setting and it said HD+ 1080x720 videos look great to me and I love watching them. Thank you
Watching on an iPad in 1080, just the same as everyone else’s videos I watch
Top shelf!
Can’t be today, too sunny! With your knowledge of local places I wondered about your thoughts on alternative spellings of Youlgreave as I’ve seen it on different signs with or without E in the middle. I’ve spelt it different ways in my videos. It’s excluded in village hall
The local garage says Youlgrave
It was Wednesday 26th, BTW
@@froglodytestravelsah, Wednesday is our normal breakfast ride day but missed that day due to looking after grandson who had an inset day so a warm visit to Whitworth Park
Lovely video! Lovely weather too! Thanks for sharing. ❤️xx
evening sir .first comment.enjoying your content..watching on dell laptop only showing 1440hd .but crystal clear video and sound is spot on .i am retired now dont do utube but enjoying your channel and the history ride safe ...old dave {from Sunderland }
Thank you. Glad you are enjoying it
Watched on mobile phone picture ok
Glad you don't have the comstar wheel which are prone to cracking near the rivets
Currently watching on my mobile phone don't have any problem with quality
Thanks for that!👍
Watching on an old phone not sure in what resolution but the video quality is fine..
HD 1440
I'm watching on a 4k TV and the resolution im getting off your video is HD 1440p, which is clear enough for me and most I presume. Hope that helps 👍
Thanks. That's really helpful

Привет из России. Я тоже езжу на таком же мотоцикле
I like the way it sounds with the adapter more than the mic 2. The adapter has a bit of wind buffeting but it makes the audio more natural and also picks up a bit of engine/exhaust noise compared to the mic 2.
The lav mic and the mic2 are in completely different places so difficult to compare. The mic2 can be rotated to pick up more engine noise if wanted.
@@froglodytestravels could be, I've never used it myself. Although in all the reviews I've watched of the mic 2 paired with the action 4 it sounds the same.
A lot also depends on the lav mic quality. I use a cheap Drift mic. The DJI lav mic is over 50 quid!
so did you just have the mic2 in the helmet ,, have you tried using your lapel mike plugged into the Mic 2 ?
Hi. My lav mic is still permanently fixed in my helmet. I left it in there in case the mic 2 ever failed. The mic 2 is mounted the chin bar using a stick on magnetic plate (the sort you stick on your mobile phone case). I've not tried using the lav mic plugged into the mic 2 as you then lose the Bluetooth connection.
I’ve had the Action 4 / Mic 2 combo in my Amazon wish list a while now. £378 is reasonable value compared to GoPro. Thanks for the demonstration.
I was expecting seeing the well where the bodies where found and the spot where the miner hung is self and the spot on the cliff the miner fell from! Luckily it seems many of the Wayfarers songs are now on UA-cam. I will have to listen again and check my facts? I used to attend Ripley Follk Club on a regular basis as well as a few others! I know Mick sadly Died are Phil and Barry still around? Mick came from Marehay like my family.
Sorry, I've been off the folk circuit for a long time, so can't comment.
Think Barry has died now , but don't know about Phil. ( i'm married to Mick's daughter )
Some great sights there!
Interesting clip once again. Don’t know how you find all these hidden places
It's not easy finding new stuff!
Another great video , these areas are some of my favourites and I love to hear the folk stories , Brilliant , Red Lion Pub in Birchover as some great beers too and the snap is excellent 🤟
Glad you enjoyed it
It's noisy by that pub.
Yes there was some grass cutting going on and the sound was reverberating around the rocks. That made it even weirder
I think it would be very spooky on a cold wet winters night in pitch black especially with all animal noises that might be going on the mind wanders a lot in that situation ride safe mate
Couldn't agree more! It was really creepy up there. No way would I spend the night there
Ey up As I’ve said before, I love hearing about our local history Keep em coming 👍
Excellent
I may have a little more information for your video, regarding the couple staying over for the night in Stoney, and as you described that the pub they stayed at is no longer, the actual building is, and after reading detailed information about this murder a few years ago myself, the pub or the premises where they stayed is directly over your right shoulder should you pause your video at the 5.00 minute section. This is where they chose to stop over before heading out as you say to their intended wedding venue, and where they was over heard about their intensions and became obvious that they had money on their person worth killing them for.
Thanks for that. It's always nice to fill in more detail.👍
Great little ride round beautiful country side as we all know Derbyshire is as you say and as I say steep hills fields of sheep stone walls and villages and twisty narrow back roads covered in trees some rivers and reservoirs and a good pint in the pub best way to get out on ya motorbike and relax best therapy ever take care ride safe
Very enjoyable I did’nt realise the bike meet attracted so many bikes brilliant 🤟
Glad you enjoyed it
Lovely ride, look forward to the next video.
More to come!
Ey up I’m normally down at the Duke William every first Wednesday of the month. I usually walk down from where I live and catch the X17 back up the hill as parking there, even a bike, can be challenging But this month I had a run over to Biggin to look at a Pub/campsite with a couple of pals and finished up at Wetton Mill
My cheap camera came with every mount imaginable except where I needed to mount it (on the mirror). Really pleased today that I seem to have improved the issue of over exposed footage, in fact so pleased that I recorded to clips rather than one this morning. Already posted Castleton, Mam Tor, Edale but still to finish editing Edale to Foolow
What are you riding? It sounds nice and reminds me of my old Kawasaki GTR 1000.
Yamaha FJR 1300. 2009 model
Absolutely LOVED this video! It took me right back to my holiday in Derbyshire last year., we walked through from millersdale right through by the river at cressbrookdale to Monsal head. Thank you so much. Already looking forward to the next., two of my hobbies in one video, life can’t get much better, as well as seeing Derbyshire in a different season to when we visit! LOVE!!! ❤️xx
Very enjoyable video the Anglers Rest Pub at Millers Dale does great food I must visit soon , such a beautiful area on a warm summers day with a gloomy history I can’t imagine how bad Litton Mill must have been I bet there’s a few bumps in the night in those apartments, scarey
Great video, these beautiful places will look different when the migrants move in.😊
They won't come. Benefits office is too far away
Always thought whole valley was Monsal Dale Same as you, I’ve ridden Monsal Head to Litton but not tried little lanes off
The Shire. Where's Froddo Baggins?
Ey up Always enjoy hearing about our local history
Nice vid pal..
Thanks. Glad you liked it
Not been in yonks must take a ride up there soon 🤟
Seems like a thriving motorcycle community there ,, good stuff,, horrible surface on the roundabout,,pay your tax get nothing done on the road,, 🛣️,,but thanks for taking us out with you 😉☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ from northern Ireland
Yep. That roundabout has the worst surface I've ever seen. It's a disgrace
#indicators buzzer is wasted on u buddy. You were siganlling left for a full two minutes of riding 😂😂
Yes, I know. I can't hear the damn things with earplugs in
Wondered if you ever go to the Duke William Lunchtime Classic Bike Meet on outskirts of Matlock first Wednesday of month. Must have been around 200 there yesterday, great variety
I have done but it usually clashes with my regular Wednesday group ride
@@froglodytestravels Our group breakfast ride is normally Wednesdays, picked somewhere fairly local, had a ride round to get there then back via Chatsworth
Great video, very busy event
It certainly was!
Good video. Yes was there last night too got there about 5pm not many but time i left at 7.30 yes was rammed a good night. Thanks ☺🙂
Glad you enjoyed it
