Welcome to our channel, where we're all about helping you step up your hunting game! In this video, we're diving deep into the art of setting up a turkey blind. Whether you're a seasoned hunter or just getting started, having the right blind setup can make all the difference between bagging that big tom or going home empty-handed.
First things first, we'll discuss why setting up a turkey blind is crucial. Turkeys have incredibly keen eyesight, so blending into your surroundings is essential for a successful hunt. A well-placed blind not only hides your movements but also provides crucial cover to help you stay undetected.
Next, we'll walk you through choosing the perfect location for your blind. Look for areas with recent turkey activity, such as scratch marks, droppings, or strut zones. Additionally, consider factors like sun direction, wind patterns, and nearby roosting sites to maximize your chances of encountering a turkey.
Once you've found the ideal spot, it's time to set up your blind. We'll show you step-by-step how to assemble your blind and ensure it's securely anchored to the ground. Proper setup is essential not only for your comfort but also for minimizing noise and movement that could spook nearby turkeys.
Now comes the fun part - camouflage! We'll share tips and tricks for effectively concealing your blind using natural materials like branches, leaves, and brush. Creating a natural-looking blind not only helps it blend seamlessly into the environment but also adds an extra layer of concealment to keep you hidden from wary turkeys.
But wait, there's more! We'll also cover additional strategies for maximizing your blind's effectiveness, including using decoys, calling techniques, and setting up proper shooting lanes. These techniques, when combined with a well-placed blind, will greatly increase your chances of success in the field.
As the sun rises and the woods come alive, you'll be ready and waiting in your perfectly camouflaged blind, poised for that once-in-a-lifetime shot. And with the knowledge and skills gained from this video, you'll be well-equipped to outsmart even the wariest of gobblers.
So grab your gear, head into the woods, and let's set up the ultimate turkey blind together. With our expert tips and tricks, you'll be well on your way to turkey hunting success in no time!
Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe for more hunting tips, gear reviews, and epic hunting adventures. And as always, hunt responsibly and ethically, respecting wildlife and the great outdoors. Happy hunting!

WRT ckeaning and getting gummmed up. I clean mine after every outing. Yeah, they do get a bit dirty. I wipe my gas operating parts with meths, and clean any burn marks with metal polish... it ckmes Straight off no problem at all. Takes 2 minutes. Great gun 👍

I bought a new CX 12 ga last fall. I had been shooting a Franchi semi-auto with very mild recoil. The CX was easy on the shoulder but really beating my cheek. I had other shooters watch me and found out that I was mounting the gun too high. I added a pitch spacer at the heel and adjusted my mount lower and fully in the pocket and most of the cheek slap went away. I found that applying a little Carmex to my cheekbone just before shooting also helped. The other commenters are correct that lifting the head during the shot will also cause cheek slap.

All fit user error. The gun is not the issue. The CX is one of the best out of the box under/over for the money. Do all with the CX. Trap, Skeet, Clays and feild... choke tubes are fine and it is actually a soft shooting trap all day long...

So i agree with my wife, the grooves for the rod holder needs to be deeper. I would drill a hole about 3/4 of an ince down and another at 3/8 then saw the rest. Plus i would rather a reel type. A small bungy from the handle to the base will be my mod when i make a couple. Thanks for the ideas.

Yeah we found that the reel types did not work the best for us due to balancing issues after a bite where they would stay down

Odd to say you think its good for hunting when it was designed to mainly be used as a hybrid for different sport shooting, Cant say ive ever heard anyone say it bruises their face or kicks too much. Kind of sounds like a user issue.

Do you know the difference between a 28" and a 30" barrel for trap shooting? The end of the 30" barrel will be 2" closer to the target. My scores will likely double as a result. Haha. JK

I couldn’t disagree more. After about 8 years of owning mine along with many many other shotguns including Remington and others my versa Max is my go to. After watching a Benelli barrel blow up in front of me I will never buy another benelli product.

Hmmm you load it straight vs your thumb at 90 degrees in relation to the shotgun. User error, have two of these and is not a problem. Also file the load gate of the receiver and smooth it out if you want faster easier loading. C-Rums also makes a welded lifter that prevents any pinching for those that need it.

This need for different guns for hunting or target blah blah is bullshit. It either fits you and shoots where you are looking or it doesn’t. The problem is if the cx fits you the cxt won’t and vice versa. The one that fits is way more important than designed discipline. The cx has a shorter lop and more drop at the comb. These aspects didn’t work for me and I had to have stock work done. Also it doesn’t beat your face up when it fits you. It beats this dip S face up because it doesn’t fit !!

I received one of these guns as a trade. I reluctantly took it with a few other nice guns and stowed it in the back of my safe for years. Finally I took it out since it came with one of the chokes I needed for a dove hunt. I was actually surprised that it fed The lighter dove loads I was shooting and it’s low recoil. The gun itself is pretty beat up from the previous owner so I decided to take it on some other hunts, where is slowly one me over due to the fact that it eats Anything I put in it and actually shoots pretty nice. It has surprisingly held its own against my Bonelli Over the last few years.

I have a 2011 Citori micro midas(shooter pull and 26" barrel since discontinued) and its the best O/U in my collection. I have extended chokes for any trap or skeet and I love scoring as high s the guys with 32" barrels. Im taller but love the lighter gun and short pull as its fast in a blind and I can swing it without fear of hitting anything. The CX is also great for anyone looking to buy one shotgun and never have any issues.

I respect an honest review . Your cons are valid but I feel as an owner of a few shotguns you may have missed a few pros. My sportsman will cycle from 2 3/4 to 3 1/2 without changing a thing . To reiterate. You can take it out of the box screw in a factory choke put a super light 2 3/4 shell in the tube and then the heaviest 3 1/2” shell. Then load tactical rounds any of them. This gun will fire effectively all of them out of the box in sequence without changing or buying anything. From sporting clays to turkey duck and deer. The synthetic stock is adjustable for cast out of the box no extra cost . The foam cheek riser that will never give you cheek slap is removable and replaceable for drop . This gun fires a 3 1/2” turkey magnum with no slap whatsoever so when hunting I literally buy the most powerful ammo because I won’t feel it anyway . The trigger guard is over sized for gloves. It’s got a self cleaning piston system . Due to the piston system under the barrel just forward of the receiver it leaves the end of the magazine tube open and uses a tube cap just like the 870 and 11 series. This makes extension tubes easily screwed on and removed an mag restriction (plugs for hunting) replaced without tools. It also allows you to while hunting disconnect the mag tube in a fashion as to swap out and replace a round for instance let’s say your all loaded up in turkey mag and you want yo throw in a round for a coyote without having a mess you can . There are a ton after market parts that make the user controls controls smoother. I’d like to see this as more like a 1970 Chevelle . You can make some small mods and have SS performance from An American made working man’s gun .

I use mine for trap. No issues with recoil, infact my niece shoots it on occaison and has no recoil problems. Its a 12 ga BTW. The added inch from the extended chokes allows you to shoot further. Exactly 1 inch. I feel the opposite in that the gun is a bit o. The heavy side due to the ruggedness of the action and density of wood and finish. It dampens recoil with is a plus. The negative is i would not want to lug it around hunting all day. There are better options. Still as a crossover gun ( sporting/hunting) it is excellent. I have over 6000 rounds thru mine without issue.

I have large hands. Never had issues with the bolt release. With two braincells active you can load it gloves on without issue. Choke tube names are stupid, but can be worked out. You can also get regulat chokes for it. Ive had a versa max synthetic for over 10 years. Thousands of rounds through it and a few push pins are almost to the where theyre almost falling out. Still, no abnormal issues. Yet. It struggles a little with 24 gram skeet shot now, but i could shoot them reliably for the first 8 years i had it. Its a fantastic fucking gun.
