Chicks 2
Переглядів 5310 років тому
The chicks are getting bigger. I put my GoPro on a pole and tried to sneak it up to the nest, which is about 8 feet up there. I shot two short videos and stitched them together. In the second video Mommy Bird was just leaving. I see only 2 chicks now, not sure if the third is hidden or did not make it.
3 Chicks in a nest.

Each year the birds try to build a nest on my down spout, and each year it blows down. So this year I wired a basket up there and the Mommy bird laid 3 eggs and now we have 3 chicks.

WSLCo Shay #12 in Sn3 Speed Test with LocSound decoder
Переглядів 79511 років тому
This is a PBL WSLCo Shay in Sn3 with a Loc Sound decoder installed. Some people have asked me to run a test to see how the decoder sounds a full speed. I was able to get the Shay up to notch 28, which is as fast as she would go. I normally run the Shay between notch 4 and 12, on my NCE throttle.
C-19 RGS 41 backing up

This is a short shot of the C-19 RGS 41 backing up at Knotts Berry Farm to double head with D&RGW 340 for a trip around the park. Sorry about the poor video, the sun was in my eyes. But it is good to see the 41 doing so well.

Love the layout!
The whistle warms the cockles of me heart!
Very Nice Layout !
These locos are from the 1800s. Wow
Nowadays, just 340 runs the trains. Every time I went to Knott’s, 41 has always been in the shed.
41 is at the Durango and silverton being rebuilt
when i was at the knott's berry farm. i saw 41 parked and i rode on the 340
Beautiful canyon!!!
If the water was moving, this scene would be perfects. The sound is amazing.
Great work on the landscape! You've done hard work all along and it shows. Rough country. I like it! The E & LC Model Railroad, Earl. 15Mar2021
Denver & Rio Grande Western 340 is a Narrow Gauge 2-8-0 “Consolidation” class C-19 built in 1881 by Baldwin. It pulled trains through out the D&RGW system as number 400 and then renumbered to 340. It was retired in the 1950s and now operates at Knots Berry Farm. Rio Grande Southern 41 is a Narrow Gauge 2-8-0 “Consolidation” built in 1881 by Baldwin. It pulled trains through out the RGS system. Now operates at Knots Berry Farm.
This is hands down the best layout I’ve ever seen!

West Side never had any Climaxes!
It's my railroad :)
Incredible work on this layout. Absolutely stunning.
Fantastic and realistic scenery, well done
So, when you narrowed the hood, did you have to put in an in-line prime mover diesel engine? Ha! Great kitbash!
2:50 super!!! We love trains locomotives bridges rocks rivers!!!
Very beautiful layout. Astonishing landscape 👌
Nice...very nice, Bill.
There are two exist Denver and rio grande C-19 engines, there is rio grande 340 in knots berry farm and then there is 346 in the Colorado railroad museum.
Make that three.
@@JosueRodriguez-kk6wn 41 is from Rio Grande Southern.
@@nathancorcoran5347 RGS was a DRGW subsidiary. It was a bankrupt step child of the Rio Grande.

I love this video! The loco's going in and out of sync sounds amazing!
I love the video Bill. I gotta go back and see that. I haven't been to the Slim Gauge Guild in many years.
I own a couple Blackstone models. Very impressive models!
It's a shame the real 455 wasn't preserved. Would've looked nice if it were placed on display at Placerville or Durango.
Nice set up Bill. I'm glad I ran across this video while doing research on the loop. We are modeling the Ophir loop in F scale. Any help you could offer, we'd be grateful.
Where is that layout?
The Slim Gauge Guild Model Railroad club, Pasadena CA.
Thanks
I love working with those trains ^_^
i wonder how 340 drove back then.... its weird how to control 340 shes so powerful compared to 41. 41 is like driving a station wagon. 340 is like driving a hot rod. From expierend XD
The 41 and 340 moves to their train.
Rio Grande Southern 41 and Denver and Rio Grande Western 340 doubleheaders.
@@colinharworth819 their valves aren't opened full way, if this was their home rails in Colorado it would be heard for miles.
That sounds just like a real shay, that's amazing. :)
Haters gonna hate..... L like the speed. shows off 1. How amazing your trackwork is. 2. How amazing Blackstone trucks/wheels sets are.
Bill, beautiful layout, very nice model! Love the video. I am looking to buy a PBL K-27
Thank you for making this. Sounds great!
I call them a treadmill, but I think the proper term is rolling stands, they are great for breaking in an engine or tuning the decoder. You don't have to worry about the engine running over the programming track. The are produced by Bachrus Inc, just search google for Bachrus
Hey Bob; Yes Jimmy weathered this for me. Basically I shot a few pictures of my other PBL Shays and ask Jimmy to do about the same. So I would say that this is a medium weather. I normally ask him to put a little rust on the smokebox, hard to see in this video. PBL did a great job with these Shays, they run really smooth.
Is that Foreground weathered by Jimmy Booth? What weathering level?
Thanks!
I just got my latest copy of the NG Gazette and PSC is advertising a new release of WSLCo Shays. You should check it out.
Very nice. Does anybody make one in On3? thanks.
Alright. Will be looking forward to it :)
I can work on that. My test track is only 3 feet long so not much room for a speed test. I do have a tread mill that I can put her on, that would allow me to give her a good run. I normally don't go about speed set 8 or 10 when she is running on the layout. Might have to wait until next weekend to do a video. Thanks for looking at my video.
Can you do a higher speed test? I would love to know what it sounds like when its moving a little faster.

Yep, I guess you figured it out this is Sn3 (S scale, 3 foot narrow gauge)
Never mind
What guage is this?
This is awesome, especially since a "Blackstone Diesel" doesn't exist, which makes the model and video one of a kind!
Now THAT is scenery! Very very nice work.
