Camping out in the dark Swedish wilderness - December night
I keep returning to Brevens Tallskogar since it's so peaceful. This time I met two people and their dog but as I walked further, I saw no footsteps of people in the snow whatsoever - only those of wild animals.
I was carrying a lot of gear this time since days are very short and I need something to keep me entertained at camp. Since there is so little hiking, I also don't really mind the extra weight.

Overnight hike with Tamaskan Dog in Vargmossarna, Sweden
Vargmossarna in Södermanland is one of the more inaccessible nature reserves in the area. There are no trails or facilities so you're on your own, just how I like it! Really like this place and will probably return at some point.
Peaceful autumn overnight hike and camp in Brevens Tallskogar, Sweden

In this video I return to Brevens Tallskogar which is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to go. Note: After more carefully reading the nature reserve regulations, I'm not sure that moving rocks like I have done here is allowed. Next time I will bring some sort of ground protection instead.

Somehow I was tricked into doing this again. There are some issues with the footage from my partner’s head mounted camera because the action cam we rented had a polarizer attached which I only realized after the fact. This causes rainbow artifacts on reflective surfaces.
Epic four day backpacking with Tamaskan dog in Vindelfjällen, Sweden
We try to go every year to the Swedish mountains for some backpacking and this year, we went to Vindelfjällen and it did not disappoint. We started out in Hemavan where we rented a cabin, climbed Murtsertoppen and continued down to Syterskalet where we followed Kungsleden back to Hemavan. A challenging hike with a lot of elevation on the first day but perhaps our most beautiful hike so far.

NOTE: After reading the rules of this nature reserve more carefully, I have learned that moving rocks is not allowed. Thus, don't do what I do. I got the urge again to go out on a solo hike, just me and my camera. This time I went to Brevens Tallskogar which is a tip from my brother who likes to go there to pick mushrooms. It's a very large nature reserve in the middle of nowhere with barely an...
Archipelago summer hike and camp on Muskö with Tamaskan dog
For our August hike, we decided to make use of our newly bought car to take us into the archipelago to escape the mosquitoes - they don't really like the wind. Why not take the opportunity to drive through what used to be Sweden's longest road tunnel in order to get to Muskö? To top it all off, we found this "secret" beach that we had all to ourselves.
Cozying up in the tent with Tamaskan dog during the rain
We were tired and decided to just go to Kärsön this time. It started raining so we spent the night cozied up under the rain fly of our X-mid 2p. Not a bad way to spend a night.
Summer hike with Tamaskan dog on Sörmlandsleden - Swedish summer has arrived!
Because of illness, we missed our planned hike in May but we were back on trail in June. For the first hike of summer we hiked Sörmlandsleden from Åkers Styckebruk to Läggesta. We originally planne to spend three days on trail but we hiked a bit faster than anticipated and we never found any good campsite on the second day so we just hiked all the way to Läggesta instead. The night at the camps...
Catching the last snow with Tamaskan dog on Ekerö-Munsö trail in Stockholm
In April, we hiked the first part of Ekerö-Munsöleden, essentially the part that ends when you get to Munsö. The trail actually exceeded our expectations a bit but it is still a bit too close to civilization for my taste in a lot of parts. We did find a nice campsite to have nice fire, however. In the morning when we woke up, it was actually snowing. Perhaps the last snow that we saw for the se...
Early spring hike on Sörmlandsleden trail in Sweden with Tamaskan dog
Last year, we attempted a three day hike on Sörmlandsleden from Järna to Gnesta with Wonton. However, it was still early in our hiking career with him so we ended up being a lot slower than we had anticipated. So in the end we cut the trail short to Mölnbo instead. This time around, not only did we finish what we set out to do but we also had great weather while doing it.
Running Muddy Paws K9 Biathlon April 2024 with Tamaskan dog Wonton!
I April, we joined Muddy Paws outside of Stockholm with Wonton - a race/obstacle course where you run with your dog. I can't remember how I actually agreed to this but it's probably because I didn't know what I was getting myself into and there was a hint that I could get a video out of it. In the end, I had a lot of fun and Tian and Wonton did even more so :)
Stumbling in melting snow in Florarna with Tamaskan Dog
For our february hike we decided to rent a car and go to Florarna near Uppsala. The terrain was really rough since it was covered in snow that had melted and then frozen again. This made it so that the crusty snow held for some steps but not for others, meaning you sometimes walked on top of the snow to the suddenly dropping through to the ground. Add to this that the area consists of a lot of ...
Hiking and camping with Tamaskan dog in the freezing cold

We returned to Flemingsbergsskogen and Orlången this time. This was kind of at the very end of the very cold part of the winter this year. We fell asleep to -10C and awoke to about 0C, quite the temperature rise during the night.

wow 😍
This was the first video I saw from your channel. Very impressed. Clicked subscribe right away. See you have a brand new tent, cool. Will watch more of your existing videos because I see some are on places I will visit and hike through in 2025.
Thanks for kind words and the subscribe! Yeah, this was the first time I tried the tent, it think it will be great for these kinds of terrains where it's hard to find a spot. Curious about which places you are going! If you have any questions about any of the locations, don't hesitate to ask, maybe I can even answer them :)
I just found your channel and subscribed! Nice color grading and angles! 👌Keep up the quality work! 😎
@@BarnabasMolnarBarney Thanks!
I used to go there in the late 60´s to practice ski jumping . Mani times in the short slope and one time in the big one . What an experience ! ! ! . I´ll keep that time in my memories for ever .
Soo much fun 😍😍
Looks like a dog having the time of his life!! One question though ! How was the camera attached to "mums" head ? Epoxi glued, or ? Anyway fun film - Thanks !!
@@anderspersson630 Thanks! Yeah, first time we did this he was rather hesitant but this time he got excited as soon as he realized what we were going to do! The camera is simply attached with a generic action cam head strap, similar to what is used on head lamps.
Gorgeous scenery my friend! Shots and music are amazing!
Thanks a lot!
Beautiful
two people and a dog? I have a big dog and worried that is too tight.
We didn't sleep in the same tent all of us. Tian and Wonton sleeps in an X-mid 2P and I sleep by myself in an X-mid 1P.
Omg this is so cool and looks like SO MUCH FUN! So many golden nuggets in this video. Look forward to seeing the next one!
Place looks and feels great my friend!
Thanks!
Tamaskan is my dream dog, I love seeing this one having so many adventures!
@@Nidi2112 He’s a wonderful companion and we try to give him the best life that we can ❤️
Excellent! What month did you go & how long did you stay? Beautiful - it has convinced me to visit during my trip in winter. Thanks!!!🙏
This was end of November, if I recall correctly. You really should visit, it's a wonderful place!
@@larsemilsahlen thank you! again, great video

I just discovered your channel. Hiking and camping looks so fun and your dog is soo cute. Happy summer to you three 🌞
Thank you so much!
I visited Guilin in 2013....met my wife of 10 years now. She was my tour guide and we just hit it off. She took me to, basically, all of the places that you showed in your video. I especially thought that the water, opera known as Impressions, was beautiful....a must see for anyone visiting the city of Yangshuo
So cute! ❤❤❤❤
I wish I could do it with my cats :)
THEY ARE SUCH LOVEMY FINNISH DOGS WELCOME SWEET WONTON WHAT IS YOUR CATS NAME . KATHERINE CAPS COR BLINDNESS❤
Awesome ❤ fun
Do you only hike with him on a leash?
Yes.
Why do you guys always use a leash while hiking with him?
Thank you, just the information I needed. I didnt know there are cable cars take you up to the mountain.
Thank you for this great video about Chongqing! It's by far the best one out of all those I've looked at on UA-cam about Chongqing. I'm thinking of whether to visit there for the first time in June (after arriving Chengdu) and your video has made up my mind. 🙂
Professional video. I envy you living in Sweden. I go to Scandinavia with my Tamaskan every year. He also hates sleeping in a tent, camper or at home. The best thing I have implemented when hiking in the forest is a long, stiff PVC lanyard. It does not tangle and is indestructible
Beautiful.... THANK YOU ❤️🙌
Beautiful scnery and amazing shoots. What camera are you using?
Thank you so much! I use the Sony A1 with a few different lenses.
@@larsemilsahlen Thank you for your response. The IQ is amazing from A1
PLEASE where are the destination in Each location. Like the scooter adventure + play, boat ride, etc. Seems nice weather in locations. Mandarin spoken in both? Xie Xie 💚❤💚
Awesome
Sehr gut produziert, prima gefilmt ohne viel Selbstdarstellung und dezenter Musik.
I just love your cinematic style, everyone nowadays are obsessed with super crazy dynamic range, you give every frame nostalgic feeling of 90's, where you just leave the darker place at its peace, makes it more mysterious and audience more focused on feelings your want them to perceive, like watching a simple montage of memories. The deliberation of composition also helped a great deal. subscribed.
I do try to go for a more "classic film" style, perhaps a bit more plain than a lot of things on UA-cam these days. And I do love an image with some decent contrast, where there's some weight in the shadows. Not every detail in the shadows and highlights need to be visible. Of course, if you watch my videos in HDR mode, there will be more details but perhaps in a more natural and realistic way. Thank you so much for your comment!
I love Guilin.
My compliments ( perfect film it ) And 1.000.000 for share Greetings of a China lover
Snygg åktur, fin video! Tack! 😊
Beautiful! Nicely done.
really good cinematography, presentation is great without a word spoken, love it and love to know the camera you use for such beautiful and crisp footage
Thank you so much! I shoot with a Sony A1 and I mainly use the Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II although I occasionally use the Sony GM 50mm f/1.2 GM as well.
that is some expensive gear , keep it up@@larsemilsahlen

Thanks, that's a beautiful scenery presented in a very beautiful way. I hope similar kind of videos can be made about every scenic spot in the world, This formats lies perfectly ib the middle of 2 hours long walk tours and 5 minutes vlog
Thanks! I really try to avoid things feeling like a vlog and make it feel more like a film, I want to convey the feeling rather than the just information.
loved it.
