WriteNow 4.0 Easter egg - About Box - Vintage Macintosh by Next
An easter egg from a wonderful word processor from the 80s written in assembly for vintage Macintoshes with the Motorola 68000 processors.
To try it on your own - open the About WriteNow... box and then hold option when you click on the box and a bunch of little people come out to manipulate the letters to make a special thanks message! It even thanks NPR :-D
It features rulers, justification, spell checking, etc. and can run really really fast on really really old Macintosh computers at least as far back as the Macintosh Plus!
WriteNow was originally created by another company until it was acquired by Steve Jobs' follow up to apple, Next. They continued to release WriteNow for Macintosh for several years after the acquisition.

Lowe's Gas Patio Heater (Style Selections Item #1148805) is notoriously annoying to assemble because of difficult plastic shrink wrapping on the base and on the reflector top. Some of the reviews say it took them 2 hours to remove the wrap! Here's how I make it an easy job - using a heat gun or blow dryer.

I changed the cartridge and re assembled but seem to have lost a lot of water pressure. We had to use vinegar to remove the bonnet and Kohler representative suggested originally to pour vinegar down the sides of the valve that we replaced. We are thinking that perhaps calcium from the years of use buildup might hav broken up and might be clogging the water supply hoses what do you think?

An all-time great, pinnacle automotive design in classic Montero red, and an iconic horn! This car was absolute perfection. Regarding the subject of the video, I can't tell you how "horn happy" I would be in traffic just to "blow my own horn". The BMW drivers first at the light busy texting and oblivious to the signal change to green would be my first targets. Yeah, they scoot out of there more rapidly they I could, but the egg would still be all over their face. There are drivers and their are wannabe drivers more interested in gadgets and infotainment.

It's not necessary to unscrew the faucet from the bottom. It's also not necessary to unscrew the valve. Just unscrew the bolt that holds the handle in place and then unscrew the cap. Then pull the shower head a bit and gently pull the faucet upwards and it should just come off to give you the room to clean the faucet inside, as well as the plastic spacer.

It's also a good idea to take that white collar and position the open section of it toward the back to prevent water splash from getting in as easily as when up front. My O-ring touches nothing if I put it where you have. Instead, I stretched it over the brass housing to sit right over, in contact with, the white collar. After tightening the top chrome ring, it keeps it in place but I don't gain a water tight seal but nearly so. Mine is the same as yours.

Thanks for your video and every process of the work, that you explained in detail . You have made an excellent video. I removed the white residues and made it working. I should say, almost every step of it was a bit difficult and opening the old rusted screws and hard to reach screws were not an easy task to do. I think it is worth the money that plumbers charge to fix it. Thanks again for your help.

Five years after market, and I'm having issues locating the nonmetallic repair kit for this valve. You did okay... folks never expect that cap metal to be so thin. That means that the harder you grab on t it to hold it and turn, you squash it egg shaped and it won't turn. There are a lot of valves like that out there... be cautious when you try to remove one. Thanx for your efforts.

I just used this video and have my faucet swiveling like a champ now. Thanks for the heads up about not wrenching on that soft-metal collar. This would have been a $120 plumber visit- While I had it all taken apart, I replaced the faucet valve too so I don't have to worry about a slow drip in the future. I was also sure to put a new black ring on the soft-metal collar. The one we had was 15 years old, dried and broken. The new one should last a bit too. Thanks again!

Thanks for the video. It came up automatically after i had viewed the Kohler video on replacing the o-rings to stop a drip. My faucet had always been really tight and I hadn't realized it could be fixed so easily. The way you put the o-ring on was a much better way than I did it. I put it directly over white plastic piece, but it never properly fit and came out between the base and the bonnet. Putting into the top piece worked better and allowed it to align perfectly.

how can anyone thumbs down, aside from a plumber not getting a chance to charge for a replacement or the "fix"..... Thx.. Took care of our issue as well. you won't be able to pull the entire assy up but you can get up enough to scratch off the buildup of lime etc. the black oring is to just keep water from getting down inside, it's not water pressure related. Just use common sense, I took a glass of water and poured it into the valve are to flush any contaminants before putting in the cartridge assy again.. Use a couple paper towels to soak all the water up before sitting in the cartridge. Anyone.. with a set of allen wrenches and channel locks / socket / wrench can do this. Basically, lime is causing it to freeze up.

I have these same liners for my 16 Focus and the carpet underneath is soaked. Very disappointed in these liners for what I paid. Damn it Husky! EDIT: took the liners to my basement sink and filled them with water. They leak right at the floor retainer clips! Husky needs to fix these designs. I'm actually considering reporting it to them.

    • @Luckingsworth
      @Luckingsworth 3 роки тому

😲🤔 they leak... at the hole??? Wow! Who woulda thought! They aren't designed to litteraly hold water idiot. They are designed to keep small puddles from soaking into the carpet from things like walking outside in snow or rain. If your kid spilled a whole gallon of juice you needed to clean it up right away.

The problem of hard turn, in most of the cases, is in the plastic cartridge you pulled out. You get a new cartridge, or you disassemble it. There are two ceramic plates inside that rub each other. These ceramic plates need to be cleaned, and greased with appropriate silicone faucet grease.

Our problem is that the handle has gotten stiff and squeaks when we move it up or down to turn the water on and off, or turn it to the right or left to adjust the temperature - any action on the handle is stiff and squeaky. This seemingly happened suddenly, last night. Would this fix work for that as well?
