A Twice-a-Year Alaskan Tradition.
It's almost "Break-up" here in Alaska.
The time of year when the roads become clear and the rivers break apart and begin to move again.
In this area of Alaska, a lot of us change out our tires when winter comes and goes.
Some of us take our cars to the auto shop to have this done, but instead of driving 2hrs. to wait in a line, I prefer to do this task myself.
Enjoy!

How to Replace Power Steering Belt on 01 Toyota Camry
Переглядів 9 тис.Рік тому
One of my subscribers needed help replacing this belt, so I made a video. I had forgotten some of the details since it's been awhile, but we figured it out. Always make sure to use proper safely equipment and common sense when working on any vehicle! Works on 4th generation Toyota Camry (1997-2001) 2.2L 4Cyl. Video taken with Samsung Galaxy A53 Edited with Power Director app by Cyberlink. Discl...
There's something Freaky 😱 in FredMeyer!

I was walking the isles, minding my own business, when all of a sudden! Me and another customer get spooked by this driverless cleaning machine heading straight for us! Video was taken after we recovered from the surprise 😮. It even has a name tag "Otis" When you shop in the evening at the smaller FredMeyer in Fairbanks Alaska, watch out for Otis! (Not a Sponsor)
A Peaceful Stream

A peaceful stream flowing out of the ground. One of many that help fill Alaska’s Clearwater lake continuously. Video edited with Cyberlink PowerDirector app for iOS, and iMovie app. Music sourced from iMovie, song: “Dreaming” by Helios.

Perfect music too!
So cool! I recall sitting in that very spot….except I was in a boat!
America 😂
Thanks for this. 💪🏽💯
So cool! What kind of bird is that taking an icy bath?
I'm not exactly sure what kind of bird it is. I'm curious too.
Thank you so much for this video متشکرم از شما آقای محترم
Thank you for the explanation. My steering belt was torn but the drive bilt still works and the car is moving but the steering is heavy. Is it possible to walk by car without problems to go to the car technician’s place?
I apologize for not responding sooner, life's been a little hectic lately. 🙃 Yes, you should be fine to drive it to a mechanic. The steering is heavy due to the power steering pulley not turning fast enough to assist. I will say if your car is different than mine, it could have other systems that are driven by that belt as well. As a universal precaution, just keep an eye on the engine temperature gage, and make sure the battery light is Not on when the engine is running. If those things are okay, then you should be good. Drive safe.
Great video! Thank you, I cant believe how simple Toyota made the belt system on this car. I have an 01 and my alternator belt is about to bust. In a way its good the water pump is driven by the timing belt, so if both belts go you can still drive on the battery to safety.
This isn't simple, you should see the belt placement in an Honda 2001. It's much much easier to get to
Sounds like dr phil is commentating

Someone tie a parachute to a car and see what happens
The original meme
The people inside are ok we promise 😂
First car did a 180 and landed on wheels. So badass
The drivers are all sentenced to the death row and were given a chance of a lifetime to drive and do these stunts hahhahaha

Only in Alaska 💀
Shoot it while in the air
I’ll say this for white folks, they know how to have fun. Got nothing to do today? Let launch some cars over a cliff! Cool! 😂
Small things amuse small minds.
It’s not funny dude🙄🙄🙄🙄
It is funny
No Groundhogs were harmed in the recording of this event 😮😮😮
I can sorta see why - just for fun. But is someone driving or do they get pushed or catapulted somehow?
The vehicles launch themselves with their own engines. They put them in gear and pull on a (friction based) ratchet strap attached to the accelerator. The steering wheel is tied off, and a rail is sometimes used to help guide the car off the cliff.
Big filmmakers could be getting awesome shots for free here
Lol no kidding eh
That first one sounded like an overhead airplane passing by
Imagine someone playing the Lego breaking sound when impact strikes
Right in the Drink!
Only in Alaska would you ruin a perfectly good car. 📡👽🇺🇸 RUN!!!
I promise you that car was not “perfectly good” all the cars they jump might run but they are at/near the ends of their lives
Are we they yet?
Sounds like the motor is revving. How do they “launch” them?

I wouldn’t sit that close
That's a valid point; a long pipe, that's used to guide the cars down a rail and over the cliff, flew off as the car flipped, and it landed about 30 feet from where I was sitting. 😳
Hell yeah red necks have all the fun❤
I could get behind this.
What a blast!
Beautiful
Spray AT-204 on it
Great music too!
Fun! Speedy dude! ❤
Thanks boss.
So peaceful. So beautiful.
Sure do enjoy this!
Sam tho- 😂
Thanks for the good explanation.
How do you take out out the bolts next to the Harmonic Balancer to take out the Belts ? I had a 2001 Toyota Camry 2.2 Liter . I tried taking them bolts out to loosen the bolts but it looks like I have to take more bolts more than two ? I loosen one bolts already .But how many bolts should take out to loosen the belts .?.
"EDITED"...That little powersteering belt is tricky. It's possible to remove the belt by loosing just the 12mm tensioning bolt with an 8" extension from the wheel well, but a small hammer may be needed to move the slide. There is a pivot bolt that can be loosened from above, but you have to remove the passenger side "Dogbone" and side engine mounts first to get to it. (the bolt is at the tip of the triangular plate). (The alternator belt has to be removed as well, in order to slip the power steering belt over the harmonic balancer.)
Here's a tip... when re-tightening the belt, I wedge a 18mm or 19mm wrench in the adjustment slide between the bolt and the edge while tightening the bolt with a ratchet. Make sure you get the belt tight enough or it will squeal. Believe me I know.🙄
@@Fireweed59 So if I loosen the tensioning bolt through the wheel should that loosen the belt ? Because I loosen up 2 bolts in there so far the very top bolt is very tough to loosen .But if I do does that going loosen the belt ? Or you have to do it in the back where you did your approach it from the top of the engine ? Iam just changing the belt .nothing else I had a Toyota Camry 2001 2.2 Litter 4 Cyl . I already went down in the car where my friend told me to loosen the bolt in the back which I cannot reach even bellow down there So I think the top where you did yours is the only choice. You said in the back there was only 2 bolts can you tell me what bolts do I have to loosen ? Thank you for the reply I appreciate it
@@jamesmichael8549 give me a little bit, I'll make and post a video really quick...
Ok here is the solution 😁. I had to re-learn it myself. ua-cam.com/video/k8wNt3mnz28/v-deo.html
