Big surprise, it's another bag review. Today I review the Vertx Ready Pack and cover the upgrades that the 2.0 version offers. I experienced some rain while filming. I also found out that this pack had some water resistance.

5 11 Covrt 18 Impressions | Newer isn't always better
Переглядів 48 тис.3 роки тому
I review both versions of the 5.11 Covrt 18 Backpack. The older version is listed as smaller but it still looks and wears larger than the 2.0. The older version would be a great bug out bag. The newer version might be better suited as an EDC bag.
Vanquest Katara | Tactical Backpack

I had the opportunity to review this backpack from Vanquest. While the design might suggest certain things (I play Call of Duty or I probably have a gun), I can't deny the bag looks really cool in black multi-cam. Please let me know what you think about this backpack!

The 2.0 is garbage, the 1.0 was purpose built. The 2.0 is just a lazy attempt at pushing an “updated” bag out while still charging a premium.

The bag is really nice. It is about the size of the bag I have now, but is just a plain sling bag. My only issue with all of the CCW bags I have seen so far is they are only concealed because they completely hold the pew and closes with zippers. Office workers really need a ccw bag where the pocket itself is not visible. Basically only you know it is there. A lot of offices do not allow protection in, but are not providing protection with all of the incidents occurring.

Don’t think that’s going to work for conceal carry. That lip plus the sling strap looks like it’s not re-enforced at the attachment point. Need to be able to put in a few hundred reps drawing my weapon without it breaking . That looks like it my break.

I have the older version and have had it for what seems a lifetime. The shoulder straps have let me down and torn and frayed. i was going to get the new version but after seeing your comparison video it has made me think twice. Do you know where i can get my hands on an old version? Oh and one other thing i am based in the UK so there may be issues shipping it into the UK as i have had problems with some other kit i have tried to order not being shipped to the UK.

Do people by the right in the rain scratch pads just for videos or do they actually use them? lol Nice review! I’m looking for a bag that I can carry riding motorcycle over and Southeast Asia. I want to carry is a regular size iPad. Along with a raincoat since I won’t be carrying any of my regular blades I’d like to have a spot inside for carrying like a small fingernail, clipper and knife. That would be probably a perfect little set up with the backpack straps.

Lol this is NOT a get home bag. Its a bug out bag. I mean this bag has way to much and weighs a ton. I mean if your just trying to get home why all this extra BS?. Fire crackers tied to a rock? Really right now? If i were 10 yrs old maybe. Folks build a bag for.things and situations your most likely to encounter. I mean this guy like many others on here build bags that are dungeons and dragons meets modern warfare type shit. Sad really.

I really wanted to like this bag. In my experience, the storage volume was too small, especially compared to the size and length of the strap, which was ridiculously cumbersome. When off body, it was very awkward to carry by hand or store. That said, I really liked the details for customization. I really wish it were closer to 15L.

Good review! The reason you need the extra pouches because the molle is really worthless with zero stretch and to small for anything. Would have been better if it was a removal Molle panel and also a full clamshell opening as the lower Molle are totally useless. I have this bag and I am really trying hard to love it but their other bags that I own are much better and more thought out. On top of that the strap is the worst I have ever used and had to come up with an alternative to make it work. Love the idea but I really think they did not put an honest effort into it.

I agree, for me the molle would be totally worthless. It was the deciding factor for me not to purchase this bag. Would have been much better if it was replaced with hook & loop, or an additional zippered pocket or two. I love the size of it.

I like the exterior lines of the 2.0 and I was considering either it or the Rush 24, but you confirmed that 5.11 got rid of all of the features I liked about the Covrt. Thanks for the detailed, honest, and user-oriented review.

Keep your TQ easier to retrieve, being buried in the bag is useless brother. I'd add a pressure dressing and wound packing, in regards to med. In regards to your "O POS" tag, it's useless. I know the military does it, I was a Paratrooper/medic in the 90s, lots of us did it with 100mph tape on boots plus dog tags. If, you, God forbid were hurt, you would get O NEG blood as universal then type/crossed and matched at shock trauma. Just my opinion as a former Army medic/now, paramedic for 26 years. Great load out brother!
