Hello! May I ask you a question? Can you recreate the original Godzilla roar? Here it is, twice at 00:13 at the beginning of this video: ua-cam.com/video/9j-uw3p7p2c/v-deo.htmlsi=66U2JtPixZWT53V3 If you research how the iconic Godzilla roar was created you will see what I am talking about. It was created on a string bass/bass violin, but in a very strange way. I just thought you might be interested. I wonder if anyone can make that sound again.
I didn’t realize he was tapping the bass when I first heard him play this riff.i thought it was two tracks
WOW! Music to my ears, that sounds great! 🎶
If it doesn’t already exit, an entire song needs to be written around this bass line.
Victor was born before the birth of the groove...
Orchestral Bass
Vic does things like around 0:18 - 0:25 and I'm just like "Oh, ok, apparently that's a thing you can do. Wow"
Does anyone know the name of the tune he’s playing?
who else thought he was about to play the flintstones theme at the beginning?
Damn, I had no idea how much I wanted to hear Vic play upright or fretless bass, this is dope
You know a dude loves to play when EVERY SINGLE TIME he does it he have a big giant smile on his face... it doesn't get old, every time you touch your instrument you just become happy. I love this dude.
Kinda sounds like The Chicken
I LOVE this human being ❤️
hes.. tapping LOL what!!
Davie and twoset would be shaking...
Finally a video with a bass violin
are we not going to talk about he tapping a double bass?
Check out some of Mark Dresser's music. He utilizes tapping a lot, with added electronics to amplify the frequencies created by tapping on double bass!
@@seanriddle6408 Studied improvisation with him (as a drummer) at UCSD so seeing this reply is awesome :D
always on hand to inspire anyone in a musical rut ! Long live Victor Wooten!
Aaaaaa yeah Victor
i like pizza
Bass WHAT ???? ha ha ha ha ha ha ha 😂 This is a Contrabass or in American language: Double bass ❗❗❗ Don't embarrassing yourself and fix the title 😉
Dude doesn't even set his bag down.
first time i ever saw him play an upright acoustic bass. Cool!
I think you could hand this guy anything with 4 strings on it and he'll make it sound incredible
4-5 strings. Possibly more....ua-cam.com/video/eWZOel7_37s/v-deo.html
WTF
=D
wish he would play the double bass more. he sounds great
Always a treat watching Victor play
gum sound is so uncomfortable ...
Ugh, I just noticed it. How inhumane.
whats the name of this song
might just be him improvising, not 100% sure though
There's another clip on UA-cam where it's called "Double Bass Jam". Search YT for "John Patitucci, Victor Wooten, Victor Bailey, and Steve Bailey in concert "
He plays that bass with sexual provocation.
This guy could pick his nose and the plebs would cheer! :~
life must be hard when you are this miserable
Give this man an instrument, and music flows out. That's the fun of learning music. Once you learn one instrument, it's easy to get music out of other instruments. I started learning bass for the last 4 years. Now I can let music come from piano's (to be fair, I had lessons in piano when I was a kid), guitars, xylophones, violins or whatever. It doesn't matter, the musical skill becomes your own. Just the platform and technique are different.
and who really gives a shit?
When the platform and technique are different, it matters quite a lot.
theothertroll You should for starters, because it's solid advice and encouragement. Music theory is still the same and it's the same notes. I don't see it as him bragging, just backing up his claim. I can also play a bunch of instruments because I know music theory and how to make chords, melodies, scales etc. I'm not trying to act high and mighty or anything, I just get a bit tired of the "why should I care?" mentality when someone is offering valuable advice for free
He's a bassist playing a bass.... Lol
Lol. it's a double/upright bass. not a bass violin :D
Stand up bass too
It's actually called the giant cello.
no its actually a clarinet
There are many names. Double bass, contrabass, upright bass, stand up bass, doghouse bass, bass violin, bass fiddle, bass, bull fiddle, etc.
It’s called magic in the hands of Victor
master of bass
0:51
Seriously Victor?
great tone. can you guys sell me one as good as this?
