I agree: Don't waste money on buying a turntable - buy a cd player instead.
I was thinking about buting the lp60x but wasnt sols quite yet. But now i definitely am. I have an old tecord player that i bought from a garage sale and it did it job, but the sound wasnt good at all. It had build in speakers and was an older model i think. And the s time passed i wanna get more deep into vinyl but still dont want to spend too much money on it. This is the perfect balance turntable. Thankuu!!
is it just me or is this guy boring?
don't buy crosley
Thank u very much, answered it on point and made my desicion
Ugh… But I want a old fashion look vinyl record player. Classic, but not mid century modern. Like an antique look not vintage.
These beginner videos are great, do a speaker one please!
Thank you! Answered this perfectly
My 12 year old daughter wants a turn table for Christmas. She’s recently (in the last 12 months) become interested in music and different bands and albums. I was thinking of getting her a Crosley as it’s not too expensive and also has built in speakers. What do you think?
from my understanding, crosley (especially the suitcases) with built in speakers are really bad long or even-medium term. they can scratch up records really bad and their sound quality isn't very good. i don't know what i would get myself, but someone said something to me that kind of made it click to me. "your turntable should cost more than the records you buy"
I had this turntable and it's realy good
First turn table should be Rega Planner 1, in the long run upgrade cartridge Rega turn tables blow the compatiion water out of the water, they extract the very best from vinal, and last for many years ❤❤❤❤❤❤

More than half of the records, I have been given over the years are 78S. The only one here you listed that offers that option is the suitcase which I don’t want to wear out the linoleum
Thank you so much for this video, I have trying to find some information that gear to Just starting out and The community kept on recommending equipment that felt way overkill for what for me will be a side hobby. I knew there had to be a middle road between the 60 dollar Walmart model and 500+ gear
Is it worth paying for the Sony ps-lx310bt or will the at-lp60x be better?
tiny wee coffee - first cut in video shows way larger cup of coffee 😂
Any insight on the difference between this and the lpw50? Not really seeing much online about the 50 at all It's currently on sale at a certain store for a little cheaper than the lpw40 at $560aud
I'd rather scrub my records with sandpaper than playin' them on a CROSLEY
Have you got a Problem with Automatic Turntables?
Nooooo I don't want to get a Manual, want an Automatic, found a good one from Lenco in Bamboo wood, plus I'm not in a position to buy one now as I'm abroad.
I think you are better off buyinggood condition second hand than the suitcase crap.
I'm very happy with my Audio Technica LP60XBT, paired with Edifier Bluetooth speakers, love it !!
CD ftw man. I don't understand the hype for the turntables or the records. Boring af imo
the reason I have an automatic turntable is late night when I'm listening to vinyl I sometimes fall asleep and it's nice to know it will go back safe and turn off other than that I would use my manual turnatble.
I want to hear what the sound production is and not a verbal review- everyone's perception is personal to them, and isn't one size fits all.
This man's accent is 🤌
NOT JOKING: THIS is the first video I am watching as a guide to by a record player 😅
I have a Dual 1019 Turntable (German) from 1965 and it still works; mechanical all the way and built solid with fantastic sound with a pitch control and of course it plays 33 1/3, 45 and 78's.. $129 cost in 1965 and today it is worth it's weight in gold, All the ones I have looked at lately from all the popular brands not even touch this turntable. I am having it cleaned and serviced as I am typing this comment. As you can tell I am back in an era that everything was just well built. All of them are plastic now. NOTE: This unit plays and stacks 45's (12 at a time and albums 6 at a time, I know you just don't stack 33 1/3 records; I have 65 year old records I still play and they were all stacked. PS my unit almost looks like the day it was built even the dust cover no scratches.
I found a record player that was $55
I took a chance and didnt do my research. I bought the suitcase crossley for 40 bucks and it hasnt failed me yet. I have replayed my 3 of my 4 albums back to back already and I havent experienced any scratches or repeats yet. Might just be my luck but i do plan to invest in an Audio Technica
I got a scratch on mine😢😢😢😢
Hey Vinyl Heads, pls stop buying those re-issues of albums where there‘s still a shit load good copies on discogs for cheap. Me and my friends who actually release music habe to wait ages to get our small amounts pressed cause some boring ass stones album every one already has is blocking the pressing plants. Do it to explore music and not to be a pretentious hipster. I am collecting stuff myself and i got a loot of records in near mint condition for 1-2 € that are now worth an insane amount for a stupid record that’s even absolute as digital.
Love this bc asking Reddit was the WORST place to ask bc I got so many mean remarks and gatekeeping type criticism when I was just curious… not a great way to make people feel welcome to the hobby :/
Buying a cheap record player to play any sort of rare or hi fi Vinyl is a bad idea. You will wear the record, destroying it's value; to you and others. Why even buy Vinyl unless it is because you want hi fidelity and/or of recordings you can't obtain easily on other formats? To buy a cheap record player will not deliver the hi fidelity that many seek; and it will ruin the value if you play it very much as the poor tracking and downforce will damage the grooves quickly. Plenty of quality record players can be found at modest used prices but you need to do some research to idenitfy those that are in good condition and to learn how to properly use them.
Can u name one as an example of a good record player?
whats ur thouhts on the AT lp40wn?
But my 5x3x2 solid wood console record player with the penny on the stylus for extra weight plays my records just fine. And yes, those numbers represent measurements in feet. Anyway, great video. Love the recommendations.
Hey , I have a Teac GF-350 . It’s old and has been out of use for 10 -15 years . It’s in good good condition but I don’t have no vinyls . Can someone tell me about how good or bad it is compared to what we have in the market ? I would like to start buying vinyls but i don’t think I’ll find my kind of music in india . Is it worth keeping ?
First video I watched :P
What about the 120XUSB compared to the LPW40WN
We hereby confirm the successful reception of the BTC transaction.
Starting does not mean no cash to spend ...and being an audiophile or expert does not mean you have endless money to spend.
He’s drinking so much caffeine in such a short amount of time 😂
love this album, this was great review. i agree with everything u said
now if I new about the lp w -40 I would of gotten it instead of the pro-ject debut 3 they are both solid wood but the debut is more expensive and they both are manual TT's and the cart would be easier to change and there are no reviews of that TT thats why I may have not seen it at all JRo
Entry Level is not really something that costs around 300 EUR. LMFAO
The Bluetooth model is considerably more expensive, sadly. Currently the non BT model can be found for $219 (AUD) while the BT model is $100 more. Unless you shop at JB, in which case it’s almost double. Doesn’t change the fact that this is a super helpful video! Thank you
Owner of LP60X here and I can say you can’t go wrong with it. The sound is great and most important of all the needle it uses is very affordable if you have to change it, a very important factor not included in this video since audiophiles tend to guide you to turntables that use much more expensive needles that can cost close to a hole LP60X
Thank you for not taking years on explaining what to get
I got a technics 1210 MKii in mint condition, (£400), Rega MK1 preamp (£30), and I already had a matched pair of Yamaha HS8'S in my studio. I'll probably never have to upgrade in my entire life, which has saved me an absolute fortune in the future, I'm very very happy!
What is a "starter turntable"? People buy what they can afford. If you can spend $5,000 then you can skip the cheap sounding equipment. Stereo components aren't like training wheels.
Another good point is the sound quality. If your initial experience is negative, It can dissolution the pursuit altogether due to the disappointment.
