OSMIUM - The rarest and DEADLIEST precious metal!
Purple Gold (AuAI2) is a formula of 78.5% gold & 21.5% aluminum, for those curious. "@NileRed" does a very good video on this. ...There is also black (cobalt), pink, and green gold as well as the blue & purple gold discussed here in this video. Thank you to the maker of this video for mentioning the significant difference of color based on the light present (and angle) while observing the color tone.
I have some purple gold too and saw Nile Red's video! In fact he briefly shows the google page with my purple gold on the top. ua-cam.com/video/9iWSGru3NuI/v-deo.html Black, pink and green gold are just alloys. Purple and blue gold are intermetallic compounds.
The lightest clincher rims ever made used niobium aluminum, made by Interloc Racing Design of the USA. The most lightwieight 700c clichers weigh 425-480gm, these weighed 390gm.
Yes, I would also like to know if there is any master of the very interesting craft…it is a real niche in the market! I am presupposing that the properties that results from the creation of the compound are not suitable i.e durable for jewellery, but heck, how much impact will earrings receive lol, I understand for a watch it could be problematic but not all jewellery. Very interested to know more.

Is there a way to strengthen the gold to make it less brittle and more durable?
Blue gold is an intermetallic compound not an alloy which makes it brittle. Nothing can make it soft and malleable.

Hello, could you tell me how many grams are in this sample in the video? Can it be melted and then used in a pendant, perhaps?
I have been wondering what blue gold looks like for so long, the article wikipedia had on colored gold, for some insane reason, provided no image But i am very immensely thankful for this video! Awesome stuff indeed!
Thanks!
This is very similer to purple gold. Super cool
Thanks! I do have purple gold too!
NileRed made some purple gold.. worth a watch if you haven't seen it

I have one of those bars, and took it out of the case unfortunately.
I’m surprised no one’s tried to use this as a chemical weapon yet. Just add a large glass capsule of the powder to a high explosive, and you would have something on a similar level to white phosphorus. 🧨
Vegetarians would have a higher risk of cadmium toxicity. Due to their high consumption of cereals, nuts, oilseeds.
I saw rings of osmium online, wtf?
Is there any company that makes jewelry with this? Online i found nothing

Smart move on your part purchasing extremely toxic thallium that's encased in an acrylic cube as those things are pretty sturdy! 👍 Purchasing a bare vial of thallium is indeed extremely ill-advised unless you have a death wish or planning to commit suicide or homicide!! ⚠⚠☠⚱🪦
ruthenium is better in spark plugs - have used both
"I'll give you $5 for it, best I can do" - Pawn Stars
How’d you manage to melt the metal? Melting the cesium metal through that acrylic block with just your body heat I imagine wouldn’t work well.
Can i eat it because tons of people say its non toxic but google said its toxic
Yes indium is non toxic but don't eat it. Rocks are non toxic doesn't mean you should eat rocks too!
According to the precious metal dealer I work with, Rhodium was worth significantly more than Iridium in 2023, and it's value has averaged $6,000 per ounce.
Rhodium is currently priced at $4350 per troy ounce as of 17 June 2024. The price remained between $4000 and $4500 over the last year and a half. Iridium currently stands at $4750 per troy oz. Rhodium was the best investment choice I have ever made, buying it when no one loved it at $600 per oz back in 2016 and it jumped to nearly $30000 an ounce a few years ago. Iridium currently holds the title of the most expensive precious metal so far in 2024.
It's beautiful.... Love its colour!
It is definitely a unique metal!
My car's spark plugs are iridium plated.

Will you make a review video reviewing Cadmium?
I just saw your comment pop up as I am uploading a video. I do have a cadmium bar and in the process of writing the script for it. I have to do some revising of it and it is next on the list to release in the next few weeks.
Where are they working at?
The frames of my glasses…..Titanium. My belt buckle and keeper loop…..Titanium. My key chain and spring clamps and carabiners……Titanium. Some of my EDC tools are made of Titanium. My emergency waterproof pill containers are made of Titanium. I love the metal, and have a one pound bar of .999 Titanium sitting on a collection table.
In this video I mentioned pounds instead of kilograms but the ratio is the same. If a 100 pound dumbbell was replaced with gold it will weigh 245 pounds. If a 100 kilogram dumbbell was replaced with gold it would weigh 245 kilograms. The ratio does not change. Just substitute pounds with kilograms.
why you using outdated lbs measurements, all developed countries have switched to kg
The ratio is the same. 100 lbs or kg of iron replaced with gold will weigh 245 lbs or kg
cool video
Thanks!
Interesting to note steel is much stronger than iron but weighs less. Iron does have a very strong atomic bond. The lower the atomic number the lighter.
True but iron rusts easily :) Caesium has an atomic #55 at 1.89 g/cm3 but iron has a lower atomic #26 at 7.87 g/cm3.
This is the poor man's Osmium if you think about ti.

The ad before this free money is a lie
[1] Everyone sees different ads, and [2], yes all those ads for $6,800, or any other amount, of free money being handed out by the US government are a scam. I am not sure how the scam works, but the ads are totally bogus!
I have no control over ads.
Let’s be careful with that cube Jeff. Nasty substance.
The thallium is safe and sound sitting next to my cube of the most reactive metal, cesium :)
The initial symptoms of thallium poisoning may include fever, gastrointestinal problems, delirium, convulsions and coma. Four vegetables with the highest thallium levels are watercress, radish, turnip and green cabbage.
Also skin lesions. Never knew about thallium intake from radishes, turnips and cabbage. Thankfully I don't consume watercress, radishes, nor turnips. So I get an occasional dose of vitamin Tl from cabbage!

I think it's similar to what happens when you mix acetone and styrofoam.
Thanks for dumping chemicals into the ground 😞
You do it all the time when you fill up your car with gas.
Rhenium is same level as other noble metals
If you agree or not - to me Cesium sound like it was named after greek hero and metal is named for its masculine traits such as aggression and destruction
Never put gasoline in a glass kerosene lamp the vapors will catech and it blowes up, so we found out as kids. No one hurt.

There will always be idiots that do, I was floored when I saw a mechanic do it though 😂😂😂
Of there is!
You said it wasn't found as a natural element in a natural state bit then go to say that it can be found in natural elements which means it's a natural element I don't know I'm confused
I was about to watch until I noticed in the title, “…it’s…”. It’s = it is. AEROGEL! One of the world’s lightest materials & it is strange properties. Next.
You are right "It's" a contraction for "it is" but also for "it has" So I changed the title to "it has" to satisfy the nitpickers out there. Hopefully you fulfilled your mission tonight as the grammar gestapo.
@@KickAssScience92 I stand corrected. Point well made with regard to “it’s” = “it has”. It’s been a pleasure.
