EM Only 2024 The Game Preserve NASA, Inside Look of Tournament Games
3rd installment of inside views of the interior of the games used in our recent Electromechanical Only tournament. I don't go in deep on how the games work, mainly look at the less common mechanisms on each of the games, or things that changed over the history of pinball. For an in-depth analysis of how these type of games work, check out the videos from Technology Connections here on youtube: ua-cam.com/video/ue-1JoJQaEg/v-deo.html
Also, check out The Game Preserve, and their Adaptive Products mentioned mostly on the Universe game. The wires look intrusive on that game due to how Gottlieb set up their flipper switches pre-1968 or so...you will see it is much more streamlined on Beat Time, Pioneer & Space Odyssey. gamepreservehouston.com/
Mars Trek, Fireball, Super Score, and Capt. Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy were used in the tournament, but only glossed over here as they had been covered in previous installments on this channel.
Chapters/covered games and features:
0:00 Introduction
0:40 Universe & AFC Controls
4:24 Friendship 7- single ball
6:18 Beat Time - clock mechanism switches
9:05 Space Odyssey - swinging target
10:10 Pioneer - drop target switches
11:40 Visiting Line-up exterior
12:10 King Tut - horrible mechanisms, cool art, nice looking reset
15:47 Delta Queen - kickout mech
16:23 Hokus Pokus - over the top light differences
18:43 Wizard - flip flags
20:39 Outro & Thanks

Halloween 2024 Time Lapse Houston
Переглядів 160Місяць тому
A poorly executed time-lapse (should have checked camera position), but nonetheless gives an idea of how many trick or treaters we had here in Forest Hill. You can see the model train whirring around on the right side of the frame. Somewhere well north of 1,000 visitors, it was a lovely night! It was the second year of our road being open only to pedestrians for a few hours. You can see around ...

A few clips of friends running our little train & then some of the steam engines that were running at the meet. Low quality video from a knock-off brand action camera. First couple clips had a horrible lack of stabilization, cleaned up a bit with Openshot Video Editor

In this video we take a look around the games used in our third Electro-Mechanical Only (EMO) tournament here in Houston. Interior mechanisms are briefly described for each of the 'new' visiting titles not seen in last year's video. Some highlights are the very rare "Jupiter," the very old "El-Paso," the Zipper Flipper mechanism of "Fireball," and the score motor repair of "Rancho." 2:00 Buccan...

Recorded the drive home from the SFASU Centennial cruise-in. The car ran wonderfully! A dying starter meant that every stop required a push-start, but thankfully that worked! Music from one of my first uploads of old player piano music, as well as the previous video of SFA songs.

"As recorded by members of The College Band and College Choir of Stephen F. Austin State College" I have had this record for years, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of SFASU I finally made a quick recording of the record using Audacity. Please enjoy! Please check out the 3rd song, "The Fighting Lumberjacks" as listed with lyrics or alternately spelled "Lumber-Jacks" as the song listing s...
"The Future is Here Now" BankMate 1976 EFT Banking 16mm Technisonic Studios Incorporated film

Financial Communication Services Corporation presents "The Future is Here Now! An Introduction to an Electronic Banking Communication System." What a mouthful. A 1976 film of new banking tech in the 1970's that came from a family member of St. Louis. The projector doesn't line up the sound right until about 38 seconds in, and cropping isn't great, but take in the sights of what I assume to be M...

EM Only 2022 Tournament Games, an Inside Look

We held our second tournament at the house yesterday, so while the games were still here I decided to do a bit of a walk through showing off some of the interior similarities, differences & unique features. Check out the livestream of the tournament on @wormholepinball2918 now on Twitch, and soon on their UA-cam page! Some corrections: Capt. Fantastic is obviously a Bally game, I repeated Willi...

Francis takes a turn at the throttle of our old little switch engine at the Houston Area Live Steamers, taking his grandparents for a ride. Pardon the wind noise.
1950 Studebaker Land Cruiser (Commander) clock mechanism.
Переглядів 423 роки тому
Neat electrically wound clock out of our 1950 (built December of '49) Studebaker. A set of electric contacts in upper left can be seen slowly closing. At about 30 seconds in they make contact and energize the electromagnetic coil, winding the clock. Instead of a traditional mainspring, it has a small extension spring (seen above escapement, but underneath coil) that gets stretched out with each...
Francis at the Windy Ridge Railroad

A short clip of Francis taking a turn at the throttle at the Windy Ridge 7.5" gauge railroad in East Texas. Locomotive is a 24v Accucraft Plymouth, they have a newer version now. Engineer's car is of unknown origin, Purple SFA riding car was built by me, from the remains of a Plum Cove flatcar.
Cyclone marble track machine by mroek

Not my design, but I printed this neat marble track that uses 8mm ball bearings on my Ender 3 V2. It took some effort to clean up some stringing (found a drywall screw fits the track well for rough filing), but quite happy with the results. I used two ball bearings in this video, one is on a single track that does the "jump," the other alternates between the other two paths. All credit for crea...
Tennis Ball ramp, Re-using the Halloween Chutes
Переглядів 664 роки тому
I built a little activity for the swingset. After Halloween 2020, we had some segments of drain pipe that had been cut up to make a couple chutes for passing out candy. Decided to re-use them and create a little fun deal for the playground. Pipe started as a single 10ft section from Home Depot that cost about $11.

When is the tournament?
The EM only tournament was back in November. Some of these games are still being used on the regularly scheduled Tuesday night tournaments though. Schedule can be found on the Space City Pinball League website.
I like to announce that "the pinball laundry is done" when the buzzer goes off. Thank for the video.
That's a ton of traffic!
I am restoring 2 this month, a Dixie and one similar to that one.
Mine says 2 1/2 HP. Really runs good
Casually mouth trumpets Wabash Cannonball 😭
LOVE this 100%!! I’m looking at getting this exact same “Accucraft Ride On Plymouth II,” only now it’d be whatever version they have in 2024. Came across your video in my search for others that have the same. Thanks for posting this! Also, BIG difference between your setup and my eventual setup, mine will be in the relatively small backyard of our Northridge, CA home. So, not exactly grand on any scale but still should be fun for my 5yr old daughter!
The kiddo should love it! This was visiting a railroad, no track of my own here. Good luck with your railroad, and find some clubs out there, they are fun to travel to with your train to get that grand experience.
Wow!
You need to add some choo-choo music! 🚂
I do have some rail-themed piano rolls...
GO JACKETS ‼️
Love it ❤
The Jupiter game you should be able to get it from 220V to 120V by changing some wires on the transformer itself. I know my EMs I have do have 120V marked but will usually say like 110 or so on it.
Came here from your comment on Technology Connections' new video, really cool to see you showing the different mechanisms in the different cabinets! So much to learn about :)
Thank you for the watch and comment! Working on these games has been a fun challenge. Technology Connections really did an excellent job on that new video, super impressed, I'm sure part two will be great, getting into all the stepper units required for swapping players & ball in play. This video was the one I made for 2023, my 2022 version can also be found on this channel featuring different games. My friends at Wormhole Pinball did a neat edit of it for their channel integrating some gameplay footage from streaming they did last year here. ua-cam.com/video/FtnTWBmWSF0/v-deo.htmlsi=Ubm9_AZ8gGpfVYOT
It lists Kenneth Green as the director, so it's between 1963- 1968.
That's so cool! I wish I did that when I was little
Tempo was fine .
Awesome! Thank you!

Where was my invite?! :(
Oh hell yeah
I loved this version, thank you for Posting this..
Very nice, I love it.
I remember this show; it was a ‘feel good’ show. Typical 1980s music , similar to Hill Street Blues.. lots of promise in the US and the world at that time …………..
Both Mike Post compositions?
I Don't believe this !
My favorite song 🎵
I would love to have that. Would you consider selling it?
Yes, it has not run in a while and could use a new home. I am in Houston, if interested send me a message.
@@1950SFA I'm in Thompsons Station, TN. Is shipping an option?
Yes I got a tour of a Museum lots of old player pianos.
1:01 Sec Is Fight Song Georgia Tech.
and what kind of building is being demolished by a wrecking ball ?
Awesome
Wow! Now, how about actually playing the song YOURSELF? Look, Ma! WITH HANDS!!!
can you animate the kitty?
uuuuuuuhhhhhh how is this supposed to be kitty amazing?
Nice piano! It sounds good isn't out of tune to badly, has a BEAUTIFUL tiger oak cabinet and seems to play without missing a single note! Great video!
We had one of these when I was a kid in the 1970s. I remember being about five years old, walking into the garage and starting the mower with no adults around. So easy, a kid could start it!
I saw this on Reddit!
Sweet footage....I might have tightened he crop just a bit, still killer perspective.
Do you know who plays this?
Great roll, your player sounds great! Thanks for posting!
So sad I gave up GaTech for a second tier school scholarship... Cheer for YellowJackets!
Looks great!
