    Great video! Thanks for sharing. I am from Lubbock, Texas and it experienced a massive and historic F5 tornado back in 1971. I imagine that the view of that tornado looked something like this if one were at the Lubbock Airport watching/recording/photographing the tornado coming from the downtown area, where it commenced. If this was an 8-minute video, I can only imagine what half an hour was like, which is how long that tornado lasted. The tornado eventually ended, at the airport! Tornadoes are just so fascinatingly scary, yet powerfully beautiful!

    At 6:58 the little satellite funnel cloud was fascinating to see. The absence of any precipitation shield really made this storm easy to see in all of its detail.

    Somewhere out there, a guy named Sam Smith sits in his pickup truck and watches, calm as anything as the tornado passes 25-35 feet in front of him. It's also the same tornado that would be famously filmed by Clem Schultz as it changed course and headed directly for his house. From this one tornado, two harrowing pieces of footage came into existance

      You have to watch Clem Schultz that lived at 32433 Main. He was shooting south west at house on the corner of West & Brown. Both houses are gone now. I have watched a ton of Twister vids and the Clem one is the second most crazy. The worst is Storm chasers got out of the way mere seconds avoiding almost certain death, then thinking they were safe almost driving strait back into the Joplin Tornado.

    Started filming it was about 4 miles away, at about 3 miles it started to go left. At the time it was very hard to tell distance. These estimate are from actual damage path. Point when I thought it was at hwy 72 it was still 1/2 mile south of that. Hit Fairdale 2 miles away. I stopped filming at 1/2 mile. Basement door was open and waiting 5-10 sec. away.

The Jarrell Texas EF5 tornado was about 30 miles north of me. If I ever do see one I hope it would be just like this one. From far away. Going the other way. What a long-lasting strong tornado this one was. Thank goodness it didn't hit you guys. Looks like a multi Vortex tornado. A den of angry snakes going round and round. I hope it didn't seriously injure anybody. Thank you for sharing this, one of the better ones I've seen.

    Great video sir and you have my admiration and respect for having comported yourself with such profound stoicism throughout what I'm sure was a rather harrowing ordeal. He's not going to give you his address, but yes, W County line/ East line roads 2 miles North. Still too close for an F4 tornado. They weren't to know that it killed two people while they were looking at it. I still can't believe Mr Schultz just stood there, as that thing barrelled directly towards him.

    • @jeffputz1853
      @jeffputz1853 2 роки тому

      @@skateboardingjesus4006 I appreciate the confirmation of sorts and can say with a very high degree of certainty that I know precisely where this video was filmed from on the basis of several environmental or contextual considerations. As for that other video that you alluded to, it has to be one of the most terrifying and astonishing tornado videos on all of UA-cam and that is a bold statement indeed considering the plethora of competition in that domain. I would surmise that he was either too terrified to move and became frozen with fear sometime during the filming or was unaware of the magnitude and immediacy of the threat and the certainty of either death or grievous injury. Either that or he was just the most brazen, audacious and courageous videographer in the history of filming tornados.

    • @skateboardingjesus4006
      @skateboardingjesus4006 2 роки тому

      @@jeffputz1853 Same here. Finding exact vantage points from which tornados were filmed, is something I've done a lot of lately, with great success. The unfortunate Clem Schultz said himself, that he deliberately went to get his camera, as he was a "shutter-bug" and thought his 100 year old house could weather another storm. He calmly stood there taking a couple of snapshots, as he reasoned with decreasing confidence as to the house's structural integrity.The poor man lost his wife in that event. I originally thought this video's title was claiming it was filmed from Fairdale. I'm glad I was wrong.
