[PART 2]: ANALYSIS AND COMMENTARY: ua-cam.com/video/V8ZD1G2Qxy4/v-deo.html RED's latest camera, the Komodo, has been making waves for it's small form factor, 6K resolution, global shutter, and price, but how good is it really as a cinema camera? I go into a deep dive in it's actual tested dynamic range. Be on the look out for [Part 2] where I give my commentary and analysis on what I'm seeing i...

ok this is an old video but im looking into these low pass filters. so it look like the skin tone-hightlight olpf makes the image keep saturation at high levels as well as keeping more details and contrast but on your lowlight test i saw the skin tone olpf was making the light flicker. how come? the stand olpf was doing fine.

Some newer lenses that come in EF flavor as well as mirrorless lenses (ie the Nisi Athena and Laowa Nanomorphs) may have issues in EF form with the revolva. That being said I love the Revolva adapter it's great.

Hello my friend! I have a question, I just bought the red komodo but I don't have lenses, my question is should I buy the lens sigma 24 70 mm RF mount ? Or should I buy the XEEN 24 mm cinema lens ? .. I also saw IRIX LENS FOR RED KOMODO, I don't know what kind of lens is best for this camera. If you could help me I will be really grateful 🙏 which cinema lens is the best ? I have 2k to spend on the lens..

Thankyou for the Vid (sponsored or Not), Dig iT; I shoot on a DSMC1 (ThanX fer the ShoutOut ^_#) Really important interest I’m researching is how big of an image quality difference you notice for bringing the rear element of the lens further from the Sensor. And Esp in respects to RF Mount and Lenses; which are making steps to bring the Lens Closer to Camera. Like how Mirrored were Phased Out.

You probably could've used derivitives to show the difference in code values, then from there creating a protocol based on those numbers to show whether it counts or not in the usable latitude. Great video, I learned a lot!

  • @joshuakellerman4104

Isn't the only way to accurately measure this is to transform gamma into linear, and then measure pixel values? Photoshop readouts in LOG or REC709 are not able to give you accurate precision for 16 bit pixel encodings. I can tell that you don't have 16-bit precision simply because of the number of decimal places after the pixel luma values. 0-255 is 8 bit. 0-65535 is 16 bit. Because your max is 255.00 and not 655.35, you are losing half of your data by not including another significant digit.

I heard that there is a monitor that can control komodo wirelessly. It seems to be specially made for komodo. Does anyone know? Its brand seems to be called PORTKEYS, and its model seems to be BM5 WR. If you have used it, please tell me, how does it feel to use it with komodo? I want to buy one and try it recently, thank you!

Great vid! Just a warning the DZO pictor zoom EF lenses 20-55/50-125mm do actually have protrusion on their rear glass. Not to be used with any speedboosters. So double check before mounting to anything that may have mounting interference. Essentially treat them like a PL mount.
