A good way to protect yourself from the rainstorms is by investing in some rain protective gear: 1) spare petals and twigs, make a temporary pretty parasol to delay the water build up! 2) umbrella, like parasol but much better, gather some silk and break pig houses or pig heads for the pig skins needed! 3) rain hat, I notice you all have straw hats. Use a few bone shards by ~recycling~ the skeletons as well as rope and a few moles which can be collected when a mole worm has a meeting with hammer. 4) rain coats, very expensive but full rain protection. If you come across a few tentacles in the swamp try getting some mobs, maybe pigs or your spiders to attack and hopefully kill them (do make sure you are not standing near a tentacle tho) and you have a chance of getting a tentacle spots, combined with some more bone shards and no more rain worries! Also please invest in a lighting rod before your base becomes Zeus’s targeting range.

With some grass and pig skin you can craft football helms as a form of armour. Also you can use the alchemy engine to craft all science items, including stuff you can craft at the science machine. Use a hammer to recycle the materials!
