This game was such a huge part of my childhood. I was Shipwrecksam on the Hunter Ocean, over three years, I spent so many hours on it and made so many wonderful friends. I recently returned to the game and am loving the nostalgia.

I wish Sea of Thieves was more like this with disregard to the tetris puzzles required to sail. It would have a lot of potential @seaofthieves

Really enjoyed this! Puzzle Pirates was such a huge part of my childhood, I played non stop from 2007-09, my pirate was Shipwrecksam on the Hunter ocean. Recently returned after a 12 year break and I'm loving the nostalgia.

I used to love this game when I was a kid. Played it all the time and met some cool people way back in the day. It was great in its prime and I have a lot of good memories with it.

YPP is doing better in 2023, might be worth checking out again! They added a 5% rake to all called poker bets so it's helping the economy atm

I love cheating in this game!! I cheat every day on cit runs & pillages. and the owner of the game & company behind him are too stupid to catch me! Hahaha

Played way way back from like 2007-2013, saw the game devolve over time to a point where it was difficult to fill ships for big encounters like Atlantis. I originally thought the game was starved of publicity but the steam addition proved me wrong, saw huge amount of players come in with very little retention. The player base was fantastic though, there was a real sense of community about the game.

I dropped this game about a decade ago and yet still miss it. Jazz's PP videos are nice and remind me there's still a community in the game, even if running on a skeleton crew. Yours though, remind me of the true PP experience for the average player: running around trying to enjoy the game's mechanics, making laughable coin most of the time and being oftentimes sorta lost between just enjoying puzzles and people by themselves and earning gold enough to enjoy it some more. Hope your computer gets happier and you can come back with more videos in the near future (while the game still lives, btw)

Thanks for the video, I can’t recall how I stumbled upon this but it motivated me to install and get back into the game again! I struggled to install as I have a Mac (without boot camp or Java), and steam wouldn’t let me play when it asked me for 32-bit lol. I thought I had to go through virtualbox to play via windows, but after lots of different attempts, I found PP for Mac version, and can now play via steam account. I used to be on Viridian, and had to start over on Emerald as Meridian is indeed quite dead in comparison, but it was lovely and nostalgic to look up and reminisce about my childhood crews and friends. I’ve now joined a new crew and love how friendly everyone is. There’ll be good and bad days but hope everyone enjoy their time and make friends in the game.

I use to play this as a kid. I made bank selling familiars for real money. I would win them in rumble tournaments.

Waiting for the videos to continue, been waiting for about 8 months

I loved this game back in the day. I played on Cobalt and had a grand time. I've got quite a nice fleet of (smaller) ships on my old accounts (I guess they won't transfer over if I asked) I had several houses and a fine crew and flag. I returned briefly a couple of years ago to find Cobalt was no longer, and the ocean where I could go was pretty much dead. I haven't been on any of the doubloon oceans yet. Maybe I'll try that again.... It's just..... I don't know. I wish there were a LOT more players both on and off high hours.

You have the talent in making videos and commentary to make it big. I guess you just need the right niche. Seems like you’re just doing this as a hobby though not to “make it big” which is probably why these vids are so great :p

Another game lost to the ages. I really wanted to play this again with my nephew and am sad to find it has died.

I'm a returning player as well and I've been trying to logon for days now but the servers are constantly showing as DOWN and today they appeared to up, but with very few online players (like 1-5 per server) and when I tried to logon it still says the servers are down. I'm so frustrated. I was actually really looking forward to starting a whole new character and playing some puzzles like the good ol days.... I have a feeling this is the beginning of the END of the game, and that's really sad. Does anyone know of a similar (and working!) game that we can all go enjoy together?

They banned everyone for stupid reasons too early so the game never got better

I had put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into Cobalt (merged with Midnight into Cerulean), and it's just not the same anymore. That said, I came back for the puzzles and the old friends, after about a 12-year break. I've even ventured onto Emerald a bit (rather than just having a random pirate over there to help friends with pillages) so I can get that 'jump onto a pillage and make some PoE' experience. My impressions were similar when I returned.

I started playing this game back in 2005 on the Viridian Ocean and left the game late 2011. This was easily my favorite game throughout my teenage years. I remember back when I was able to purchase my first sloop, painting it black and green and naming it. Eventually I was able to get myself a decently small fleet of ships of all sizes. I then accomplished getting ultimate and number 1 trophies in a few of my favorite puzzle. Finally, I owned an island during my last year of playing. Unfortunately, someone logged into my account and my main account ended up getting banned. I tried numerous times to appeal the ban, but ended up leaving the game behind. I returned to the game on a separate account back in 2017 and left very shortly after. It was very saddening logging in and seeing less than 10 people online. I hope to one day see this game advertised and get the same following that it use to have back in the 2000s.

I use to be Hellbonez Ghostybonez I got banned so much I had so many accounts with bonez in the name on hunter. I started this game with I was like 13. This was the gold era of PC gaming for me. I miss the way the community felt. I miss my crew mates and alliance mates(Raulitach or something like that. Schwiz. Shadow and many more) . I miss losing a million Poe at the poker table then using it as a excuse to do a elite sloot pilly. Great times great memories
