Переглядів 545День тому
we're back at Efteling mainly to discover Danse Macabre, but enjoying everything the park has to offer. We're checking Winter Efteling, and trying to stay in one piece at the ice skating rink. For lunch we made a stop at Polles Kitchen, nice themed restaurant offering a wide variety sweet or savoury pancakes, we went for savory.

Ibilaw/Walibi Belgium Halloween... Avoiding... trying to avoid the monsters rather than meeting them

We went to Walibi Belgium Halloween realising that it might actually be too scary even if we did not intend to visit the haunted houses. No more friendly kid zone this year.
Efteling, is it the most magical park in Europe
Переглядів 3,7 тис.Місяць тому
Efteling is often regarded has a better version of Disney, but is it ...Efteling straight out of a fairytale, not so sure but it offers a wide variety of attractions and clearly targeting families , much more so than other theme parks. Last time we were here Haylee wasn't tall enough to ride most , so it's all about discovering the park all over again ... time to ride Baron 1898, Joris en de Dr...
Phantasialand Germany best theme park in Europe? Good for all ages ?

Come along as we enjoy a b-e-a-utiful day in one of the best park in Europe, is it living up to the hype. We're a crazy duo, Haylee, 10 years old, Vince (daddy) a bit older, will this park suits all ages, is it good for families ... Discover the rides, ... and more. This is our very first video, it's only gonna get better, hopefully ...we're learning , and learning is a process.
I don't know if you're into the symphonic metal, but you definitely have to check out the music video "EPICA - The Ghost In Me (Danse Macabre)". It's filmed inside the attraction. The song is part of the opening promotion for Danse Macabre. If you like, you really have to check out their live version with orchestra as well, it's so good!
Thanks for the charming video from the both of you, looks like you enjoyed the park, love the plushie (good quality but then efteling would not skimp (have bad quality) Will definitely watch future videos
Thanks, we had a great time. Good quality and the price is not over the top, especially for a theme park
The Efteling has small roller coasters and roller coasters because they are only allowed to use 11% of the total surface area for construction.bThat is because Stichting Natuurpark de Efteling is the owner of De Efteling. Stichting Natuurpark de Efteling owns a much larger area than just the amusement park. Most of it consists of young forest, grassland, roads and an 18-hole golf course of 95 hectares, but there are also plots on which Efteling Bosrijk (17 ha) and the Loonsche Land, the Efteling Hotel and Villa Pardoes have been built. An area of 50 hectares has been developed as a nature reserve (also) under the name Loonsche Land. The part of the park accessible to the public is 65 hectares. The largest part of the park is taken up by vegetation (approximately 30 ha), lawns (5 ha) and water features, such as the Gondoletta, the Kanovijver and the Vonderplas (7 ha). Paved roads and squares together account for 12 hectares. Efteling also has 11 hectares of parking space. Excluding the parking space but including the service centre and other parts of the park that are not accessible to the public, Efteling is 72 hectares in size, the surface area that you usually find in Efteling publications. The actual park has been about the same size since it opened, even though a lot has changed since then. The area that you can visit as a visitor has even become smaller, mainly due to the construction of the Europalaan in 1988 on the north side of the park.
I found it extremely boring for 2024. We rode it together then as single rider. 2nd time I said "not worth longer than 10 minutes wait time"
What is it like ? Does it get real spinny?
Too short maybe. But not boring.
The start is slow, but it builds up wonderfully, quite thrilling in my opinion! The end is really wild! I went three times when I visited yesterday and I could simply not get enough of it! I'm craving more visits in the near future haha It's a work in progress though! They will fine tune and change somethings about it, so maybe wait a month (or two) if you're planning on going.
nope, it moves in rythm , spinning, going up and down, but it smooth, almost relaxing
It's not heart pounding for sure, but it's nice, and the whole family can enjoy it, it would be interesting to see this attraction themed differently in another park maybe. I do understand and agree it's not the greatest attraction ever, I think the waiting line is gonna die out eventually, it's new so everybody wants to ride it now
I was in Efteling in my birthday
Happy belated B-Day
Unfortunately the skiing thing ('t Hijgend Hert) isn't there anymore. In 2020-2021 it wasn't there because of covid restrictions, but it hasn't returned after that. I don't miss it. I'm terrible at skiing or ice skating. (My shoesing skills are on par though 😅)
Also, that ice-shoesing joke is great 😅
I'm terrible at it too, but still wanted to try it
Your daughter is such a darling. She enjoyed it so much. Congrats with your impression video on this great themapark. I realized we should visit it again some time soon. Greetings from Amsterdam :)
We actually went back at winter efteling and tried Danse Macabre, we had a good time, I was expecting a bit more from Winter Efteling, but the park is so big I understand they can not have as much decoration as at some more condensed park. You should try Danse Macabre when you get back
For a next time..if you buy something they can send it to the exit for you and you can pick it up when you leave the park.
Thx good to know, I'm pretty sure she wanted to keep her plush with her all day long this time , but definitely a good tip if we want to buy something bigger next time
Thanks for this great complete review!! Great presentators, Cute cat 😍
Thanks, merch for Danse macabre is really good
Glad you loved it! This attraction has been my obsession for 2 years. Hope to go next year
you should it's a great one, I'd like to see it themed differently if another park should chose to go for it. we kept the surprise, we did not one to now too much about it before riding it. waiting time was not that bad for a new one
Glad the both of you enjoyed the new ride! Waiting time is long because everyone wants to see Danse Macabre.
yep, everyone was heading to Danse Macabre as soon as they entered the park, the waiting line was better in the afternoon, it did not get under 45min though, the waiting line is very well done, you do not feel like you're waiting that long
For me the wait (yesterday) was 25 minutes throughout the entire day (went multiple times)
She is just the right age for Efteling. Showing her reactions made it fun to watch.
Poor little girl! It was easy to tell she was so thoroughly scared of the monsters. I hope she didn't get traumatized or anything. I think it's such a weird thing to do for a park. I mean, during halloween you expect some scary theming, sure, but to go full-on texas chainsaw massacre on small children is just messed up. Anyway, great vlog, hope both of you are doing well.
it's kind of weird, it's supposed to be kid friendly during the day, and you can get that anti monster button, which frankly does not do anything. She is older now but even two years ago, it was the same, and they kid area was next to the crazy circus area... duh....a bit too scary, and you can not go to some part of the park without crossing monster zones. I believe some parks are more on the not so scary Halloween side, Disney of course , but I believe Bellewaerde here in Belgium is also more kid friendly. Walibi removed the kid zone they had previous years they're defintely going for a teen audience . ... and she is ok, don't worry, we wouldn't do anything she do not want to do, just wish they would offer a friendly Halloween experience as well, especially during day time
The best fun house is Villa Volta in Efteling! Better than Feng Ju Palce
We were just there and we did not do it... bummer I think we'll have to go back
really nice. just really nice. :D
Efteling is not really about big rollercoasters it also doesn't have that much space in comparison to other large parks. It is more about the fairytails, decorations and dark rides that are nowhere like this as in the Efteling.
So nice to watch such an endearing chemistry between father and daughter. Also, it was good to see that towards the end you opened up to that special magic of the Efteling and seemed to have a pretty fun time!
We did, to be honest, I had fond memories of my first time, waaayyy back when Haylee was ? I believe around 4, I remember the pirate boat, I was amazed they let us ride that as they wouldn't in most park. She loved it. We kind of lost it a bit for Efteling as she is more of a thrill seeker. We came back a second time a few weeks ago to try Danse Macabre which is a very nice addition. Our favorite attractions are Danse Macabre, Joris and the Draak, Steam Carroussel, Droomvlucht, and suprisingly Python, we almost did not ride that one thinking it would be an old shaky one, but it was nice. Baron is something we always try to do but we're not overwhelmed by it. I was kinda expecting more for the winter event though maybe it's my memories but I thought it would be better
@@HDUniverse-h3f Arguably the Efteling could use another big thrill ride and I hope this will be indeed their next big project. For me, the park is unique and so enjoyable to just walk the grounds and soak in the atmosphere. I hope you'll do a vlog from your winter visit, I'd love to see that!
Wait are you dutch? Where are you from?
we're Belgian, we're about a 2 hours drive from Efteling
great vlog :) i would recommend going to energylandia in poland
You're the second person to point that out, definitely something I will keep my eye on
De Vliegende Hollander is nót short. The story starts in the waiting line. It is só much better when you read the story first and then do the ride. Most attractions have the stories next to the entrance in 4 languages. (You start in the mansion of the captain, you read that he is doomed because he chose to sail out on Easter Sunday, driven by greed. Then you enter his secret tunnels with stash (by going through the painting. Then you enter the questionable tavern where he does his shady business. And last but not least, you end up in the harbor. Then you sail out (in the mist and darkness. Did you smell the sea?) and only after you have left all the other ships behind you enter the last part: the doomed sail over big waves. If you think that that attraction is ‘just the drop’ then you have a short ride indeed!
It really depends what you compare it too, most parks have longer rides but no story or thematization. I think Efteling is not about the length and to be honest I prefer this because I can not handle that much, if it were to be longer I would only be able to do two rollercoasters.
dark rides are better in Disney, but I like the atmosphere better in Efteling. Less commercial and the park itself has a nicer setup to stroll around.
I think it depends what you prefer. I prefer Efteling for sure. Disney to be is way to much commercialized.
Hope you had lots of fun! May i also reccomend the theme park Toverland? Its south of efteling and has a bit more "mature" coasters but a lot of other fun rides for people of all ages! And one of the best themed areas in any park ive seen
Yes , we are interested in going to Toverland, don,t know when yet but it will happen, it seems they have quite a good selection of ridesthat are unique to their park? it(s definitely on our to do list, and same driving distance from where we live
may I ask where you come from? English is not your native tongue I believe, and so it's not you're daughters either! But you are both so fluent! my compiments..
We are from Belgium, our native language is french , we do speak a bit of dutch (not fluent), but I do understand most and my daughter is learning at school. As for English I did live a bit in California (San Diego) and Canada (Vancouver). My daughter is watching movies and videos only in English. I asked her if she wanted to do the videos in french or english, she chose, she's in charge, so english it is. And it it,s a good way to keep on practising as unfortunately we don't have a lot of opportunities in everyday's life.
@@HDUniverse-h3f I am Dutch. Dus ik had het moeten kunnen herkennen.! 😄
@@HDUniverse-h3f Just keep the magic happening with your family ... she will be fantastic in the future... many people from les wallonies, don't speak anything else then french because they think french is enough .... i'm from belgium, and i don't speak enough french ;o) it's great to see little children who speak this well in the not native language.... about the Efteling (and future movies) ... let the kid decide the path of your future, i know for sure this could be a thing ... many video's are from "older" people exploring the world of theme parks.... when you follow other vlog's it's often young adults exploring the parcs in another way, then little young people who like to explore like your haylee... this side of the story is not told yet that often.... so there is a "market" of entertainment on your path ... merci pour votre video avec l'experience a efteling. looking forward to future vids
Joris en de draak did show who won with a sign at the and of the race. You guys lost and when you went back in the station there was a booo sound of an audience. If you win they cheer for you.
yesss, we just came back from another day at Efteling, we did see the flag at the end this time, and we lost... we did not hear the booo's though, we'll have to pay attention next time
Next time let the girl choose the path, because the dad is rushing from attraction to attraction and that's not the way to visite the Efteling... Say to her:"Walk the way and I follow without any opinion". When you want thrill attractions, don't come to the Efteling!!!
To conclude the commend above .. Efteling Park is a FAMILY park. So it's for all ages (youth and grown ups). If you're looking just for thrill rides, and apperantly you did, you should have visit another theme park, like Walibi.
That's what I always tell my son when we go to the Efteling. He's the boss and I will go where he wants to go.
Noo got its a small world from disneyland everytime in my head and the carnaval festival too😂🇳🇱
and danse macabre too 😉
Nice vlog ! What not many people know is that Efteling started as a main football / soccer field and two training football fields and a playground. Later on they built the fairytale forest and people started to come from all over the country. Recently Efteling opened the dark ride Danse Macabre it is a unique ride with a newly invented motion system no other themepark in the world has such a ride with this new motion system. Danse Macabre is a run down haunted monastery. When Danse Macabre opened it was big news people from other countries came for the opening, a television talkshow was held about Danse Macabre and the waiting line was 4 hours. Prices of entrance, food and hotel are cheaper than Disney because Efteling is not owned by a big corporation like Disney that mainly focusesses on making as money as possible. Efteling is owned by a foundation and it focusess on theming and keeping the park authentic. Efteling shows the real fairytales by the brothers Grimm and doesnt sugarcoat fairytales like Disney does. Efteling was built before Disney parks even existed. A lot of themeparks that were built later took inspiration of Efteling. One example is the first ever Madhouse it was built in Efteling and other themeparks copied the idea of the Efteling madhouse. Efteling is the second most visited themepark in Europe. Europapark is number one most visited and Disneyland Paris number 3 most visited in Europe. Now you have to come back to experience Danse Macabre. Danse Macabre was estitmated to cost 25 million euros to built in the end it cost 35 million euros to built it. Danse Macabre stands for dance with the dead. The ride literally is a dance with the dead. Most people who went in it were enthuastic about Danse Macabre. The onride videos on UA-cam of Danse Macabre you cant really see what people on the ride see. Even tough there is a lot of land around Efteling, Efteling cannot just built new rides and rollercoasters. There are restrictions to built on the land surrounding Efteling.
Thank you for this very informative comment, did not know a lot of this informations. We are heading back to Efteling tomorrow to try Danse Macabre and experience winter Efteling
@HDUniverse-h3f Cool !
Oh you need to come back to "Wintertraum" for sure!
We will, and we took advantage of the early tickets prices this time, we already booked two days, late December and early January where we gonna take it "Slower" as my wife will be joining us and we're too "active" in the parks to her likings.
Walibi NL has no Mine train so which one you are talking about? Talocan had an accident and is getting fixed but i don't think it will reopen this year. There are two merch stores in Chinatown and Deep in Africa and i guess there will be one on the bridge between Mexico and Klugheim. Taron at night is on another level and Taron itself is the most rerideable Coaster in the world but Zadra in Poland is better.
Hi, I'm talking about Walibie Belgium, we're living next by, Walibi Belgium has Calimity Mine which is not as good. Is Walibi Holland worth a visit? As for Talocan, we did not now it has been down for quite a while, I since checked the video, I hope it will be reopening by the end of the year as we're going back late December and early January. We really wanted to try , Haylee was too afraid last time it was open and so were my adult friends. We rode a milder version (Buzzsaw, Walibi Belgium) and she is ready to take the leap now. I reach out to Phantasialand, they do not have a timetable .for reopening I think we came across a tiny shop next to adventure trail. Taron is the best ride in Europe for me , alongside ride to happiness, Haylee loves Taron, Fly, Konda (Walibi belgium) and wooden coasters in general. we haven't had the chance to go to Poland, I'll check Zadra, thanks for the tip.
@HDUniverse-h3f I've heard they are reassembling Talocan at the moment. Taron is my favorite too as a night ride and as a full steel coaster. Zadra is a hybrid by RMC and has their signature zero g stall where you are upside down for 4 seconds. Poland is really underrated had five awesome days there and two days at Energylandia. Walibi NL is great but small in size like Phantasialand. I recommend to stay at their own resort (they have houses from 4 to 8 persons plus an indoor pool). Their ride setup is equally good as Phantasialand but the theming is standard in comparison. Nice is their Halloween event in October with night rides, scare actors and interactive shows (paid separately). Toverland near Venlo is also a nice park but sadly not very clean.
@@CavHDeu We're taking notes, thanks, Toverland is already on our list
