As first generation Deaf Mexican-Americans, how did we learn about Dias de Los Reyes?
Here, we explain how we learned about Dias de Los Reyes being Deaf. Oscar's (@thatdeafdad) experiences are different from me. However, seeing how this day is celebrated throughout different Spanish-speaking countries is interesting.

Smart and handsome 😍
He is soon cute. Aww
Interesting to watch. Don't think Catholics do this in the UK. Christians call Jan 6th Epiphany here. I'm not a practising Christian myself but I know it's bad luck to leave Christmas decorations up on this date as it's more than 12 days since the start of Christmas. I enjoy watching your videos as I'm from a Deaf family too. 4 generations. Love how you communicate with your dad. All the best for 2025.
He is still 100 percent precious ❤️
I love that. You both have beautiful kids! 🤟
Beautiful family! ❤
Thank you!
There is a beeping in your video. It sounds like your smoke detector battery needs to be changed
Yes, three kings but myself see on gluten free making
Wow! That's interesting. I think it is lucky to get it. We ate that that was three hours, lol. That awesome bonds with your dad. I miss my father away passed. Im happy positive ❤
Interesting! I know about three wise men celebrating on January 6th but more than that I wasn’t aware of more than that I am catholic tho . Thank you for educating us. Really appreciated your knowledge.
Glad you enjoyed the video! We are happy to share our culture and what we have learned!
Hi! We are from Argentina. It is called reyes here. I don't know of any tradition involving a rosca. But the children setting shoes out to recieve gifts, yes. I imagine the origin is Catholic too. Nowadays I don't think many people do the shoes outside part, but kids do get presents on Jan 6. So that's what Reyes basically means here now. We are also Christians and don't really do gift giving for Reyes or Christmas, partly because we think it takes away from the true meaning of Christmas, but also, honestly because we just don't have the means to gift 5 kids 2 times so close together. And 3 of them have birthdays in December and January😂. Thanks for the video. Very interesting.
That’s very interesting about your traditions! I’m always fascinated by the similarities and differences of cultural traditions. Thank you for sharing your perspective!
If they got Jesus Baby then they have to make tamales in February. That's how my family does.
Well, my daughter has to make them now. Haha, no. My family did something like what you mentioned.
Thank you thank you 🙏
You're welcome!
That baby is so lucky to have parents to guide him through his journey. He’s will be understood at home even if the world doesn’t understand him.
Thank you. I am noticing more and more people are learning some signs. I would see that whenever I visit restaurants, stores, or events.
Ah un muñeco Jesús día los reyes !! Si va 2 febrero por trae tamales
My baby is not responding to sounds at 4 month old but he is sleeping and some noise he is wakeup it is good sign I am so worried
He is a cutie pie
Thank you! He is!
Whenever someone has reacted this way about my being Deaf, I can’t help but act immediately concerned for their “hearing-ness”. All those horrible noises and countless annoyances. It’s a shame so many hearing people need it reiterated, that everyone is different and their life is not the default. Please, those who need to understand this, do so.
Does anyone hear? Thats a quiet house...no hollaring in that house for sure.
The children are screeching throughout this video
He’s doing so good with his communication! Do you normally help him with hand movements the first few times like you did with “deer”?
Yes, I do; I could see that he wanted some help, and when he correctly signed some words, I nodded. He gets so excited and is proud of himself.
😂😂😂 Yes Mom Baby is so jealous and mad at Mom.😂😂😂
I agreed with you 100%. You are very smart and wonderful Mom to teach beautiful kids with sign language. ❤😊❤
Both of you look so happy, love together and very nice couples. ❤❤
Aww, thank you!🥰
Somebody's jealous 😂
Oh no! hahaha
You look the same when you get old to Estenfani, and Oscar looked much older with white and gray hairs wow!
Everyone really need to stop being so negative.. as i can see it, the parents are just glad their child is born.. with or without disability, they gonna love him.. it just so happened that their other child is deaf, thus making them prepared if their newborn is also deaf/HOH.. So stop condemning the parents coz you guys are not in their position/situation and dont know how they truly feel or think.😒😒.. u guys can only assume things just by watching a short clip🙄 but it is just your own assumption.
Yeah you can teach a hearing child sign language.
Still beautiful 🎉
Thank you!!
You’re thrilled that your child is disabled?? Just so you can speak sign with him? How selfish.
No, She’s thrilled that he’s hard of hearing and not totally deaf.
@@CB-sr8ee that's what you interpret. The second to last caption on screen with white background talks about being "able to share their culture" - to me, thats being happy he is disabled just as they are. I know it could be interpreted otherwise, but you would have just naturally chosen other words if you wanted to direct the "share" to people outside of the family.
That's amazing!
😂 So cute baby let Mom to know his poo with baby sign language and stinky 😂😂
Awwwww
Wow purple
"Always beautiful. God made you beautiful..." Best line from this post! 😊
