Spread mortar - Tutorial 1
Переглядів 25 тис.6 років тому
Here we are going to go over and learn how to string, furrow, cradle and bevel mortar. This is the process to follow for laying bricks onto the mortar. Of course, I made this look easy but you'll have to practice this for about 2-3 hours to get the hang of it. Patience is the key here, so take your time!!! Thanks for watching, give this video a like if you want to see more tutorials.

Haha listen to this sceptic tank lol
Thank you!
Hello. please tell me what is the ratio of the solution
Terrible video doesn’t work
Proof, or you're full of shit.
I'm sure it's you.
Get Jose and Pablo out there and get them boys is shape, they will learn concrete and Spanish curse words😂 good deal!!
😂
If you changed several of your videos to shorts more viewers would watch and possibly subscribe.
What is the tool called, and where can I find it? Thanks
It is called a line block and HD or Lowes carry it.
Use the heel of the jointer so you don't scratch the joints with the tip. Seals it alot more that way too
this is the best video on UA-cam on this subject
Mor tar not Mort rr
Crap
Thank you !!
Stop rolling, just scoop and use correct measurements american
Wrong, just grab it from board and twist and drag
Now your just playing with the mud youll never finish like that
Mor dr
No point in cutting
grab it from board, twist wrist laying long bed, furrow it quick.
All about technique to newbies
@@fjbmasonry there is no technique just grab and lay no fancy stuff
It's called a tutorial for a reason... for beginners right??
@@jontullett9068 Yes there is... trowel has to be balanced during the furrow and that takes time... you don't slap mortar on and go unless you've got some good years of work experience. These are kids we're teaching, so trust me :)
@@fjbmasonry well if people want to earn more money then teaching them a faster way is better rather than letting them do it a fancy way and earn barely anything
To me i think its better to set your line before you lay anything
How you supposed to lay a line without anything laid
@@jontullett9068 you use rebar or steaks to set your line an laser to make sure the elevation is correct once you get it built can you use clamps and string
@@jontullett9068 come on brother how long you been doing this ?
@@smilehappy3112 how is rebar going to help and who uses a laser, the corners go up to a certain height or a profile is clamped on to the bottom of engineering bricks then a line is put on
@@jontullett9068 i would love to teach you my brother
Sembra la f..a
Shite
Exactly, bet he’s only laid a couple of hundered bricks, a year
dont furrow your mud down so far that the point of your trowel touches the brick below the whole point is to let motar come up in the holes in the brick to make a strong wall. too deep and the motar wont tie the wall together
There is no holes in the brick he’s using dumb arse
@@youngmasonry those who can do those who can't teach
layed for 25 years never busted the mud in the middle. liked my mud just a bit wetter so i could spread 2.5 to three bricks at a time. if i layed like he said would take all day to lay small section of wall. the trick to quick laying is spreading as much mud as possible. but hey i always had a full heaping trowel full of mud....
Thanks for sharing
Only the best masons know about the bikini line block. 😎🤙
About 15 seconds of useful video. Still, short and to the point. Best of all. No advertising.
Its strange seeing Americans spread their mortar as it’s a different technique here in the UK 😂everyone has their own unique way of bricklaying, it’s how u feel comfortable with it, but I’d be more than happy to try spread my mortar like what was shown in the demonstration!
No line blocks
Sir when finishing the concrete did you first edge, then mag the concrete to get it prepped for the pool trowel. Or did you just take a bull float to finish it instead of a pool trowel.
This is great and informational for beginners and people that want to take up a new trade or side job. Also, it brings up new ideas to people to become a mason when they see this video.
The whole idea of teaching inexperienced people about such a great trade is nice. Since my brother has taught me the past 4 years about setting up forms, laying and finishing concrete, I have such a great appreciation for people teaching others.
me too bro ! my brother taught me foundation forms, cement, & masonry , as well as the guys in our group giving me a tip or two
Had to run out to the shed to get mine when I saw your video; both of mine looked like a snarl of windings every which way; now I've got a system! Thank you! ("bikini" I'll always remember lol)
You sound American, so why are you teaching them metric? I've been a mason since 1985 and NEVER been on a construction site that uses metric.
Your popular sir
Amazing
Thank you for your video
I learned that the best consistency it should be is like ice cream
Great video, love the camera shots 😀👍
Great job thanks for the tips
Yessir getting work done
that was really cool and sumthing interesting know
Fantastic, cheers for this.
Thank you
Reallly good video. Learnt alot more vids pls
Lol
Good job this bloke is not on price work😂
Yup, but he’s American so he only lays 1 brick a year, the rest is just rendered blockwork
@@jontullett9068 Wrong; he is Canadian. You sound like you have and overdeveloped sense of self-importance.
lol
