Hello, do you recommend a ozone monitor?
Brown Cynthia Davis Nancy Gonzalez Timothy
I just purchased one, and I was not able to pressurize the carbon side like you have it here. How you have it is not how the manual says it should be run. I figured out the carbon side is leaking air from the center tube, not sitting tightly to the out port. I cut a 1/2 silicone tube and jamed in it there to create a tight seal. , I can now pressurize the carbon side, and it now rains like it's supposed to. Water lvl should not be higher than the bottom white plate. I see many videos like this one and some properly run. Seems like avast quality control issues. Great video, not many out there on this equipment. Good luck, happy reefing .

The music while talking was annoying as fuck. Thumbs down
Thanks for the update! I wonder why i dont see more buzz about this tester.
Now that the new Mitras LX7 IL is out do you think you’ll switch these?
Spectrum wise there's no difference between my 7506 vs. The IL version. The main difference with the Mitras IL is that it is water proof and higher powered (250W). I think the corals are happy with the light they're getting now. 🙂
@@TheAcroReef425 that’s good to know. Looks like pucks would be the way to go.
Why do we get teased with iond videos or post?
Just sharing the journey of my reef... The IOND is part of it. 🙂
Hi. Do you always have to wait 12 hours before running a test. Will it not work until 12 hours are passed. Lots of people claim this kit does not work. How do you like it
It works for me and has become an important part of helping me achieve parameter stability. 12 hour waiting period is part of the preparation. It gives the sensor time to stabilize while it sits in the B fluid. I haven't tried testing sooner than that, I prefer to follow the instructions. Thanks for watching!
i have issues since months. Get a new sensor and Running for one month, then calcium couldnt running. I claimed the sensor got new one last week. Wait 7 hours and could Not Running a Test, calcium not possible…….. maybe a tip?
Did you not need to have an import license? Howd you get them through customs?? Very cool 🙌👏👌✌️
Not for this shipment. Ordering through AJC Coral Imports, he covers those things. I pay shipping at the airport when I pick up the box.
Great setup . I wish I have that much corals in my tank. Kudos!!
Thanks, I appreciate that! 🙏 Thank you for watching!
Awesome video man keep it coming!
I appreciate that. Thanks for watching!
Did Chandra make you coffee 😊. Some of the nicest people there!
He sure did! The hospitality from him and his team was a next-level experience. 😁
You paid for clearance for one box lol?
Nope, only shipping. 🙂
The donut corals are stunning
They sure are! If my tank wasn't so crowded, I probably would've gotten one of those too. 😅
@@TheAcroReef425 I’m a sucker for donut !
holy crap, lots of eye candy indeed, what a massive operation
They almost always peel after a few weeks. Transporting small polyp over that distance is a crap shoot. I'm praying your corals make it. Thanks for making the video
btw, good problem to have with a tank packed full of gorgeous corals :)
No, no they don't 😂
I've ordered transhipments before during my time working at an LFS and personally, die off hasn't been and issue for me. Not to say, it can't happen because it does. These new pieces should do well. 🙂
I see you have that mini GHL controller or am I looking at the pump controller and you have the profilux 4. Can you use the mini controller to do everything the bigger unit can do?
That's just the pump controller (Versia Controller) which is controlled by the ProfiLux 4. The mini might be suitable depending on what exactly you're looking for in terms of control and monitoring. It's mostly meant to cover the basics for smaller setups. If you want a lot of expansion options, the ProfiLux 4 is the way to go!
@@TheAcroReef425 I really want a setup just like yours. It is so cool 😎 . Are you running ecotech pumps I can't remember. Your tank looks awesome 👌 and your corals seem very happy. Which icp test are you using? Are you from the states
I like ghl, how do you have your lights, what % of colors do you use during the day and night? I would like to know the programming
Most of my channels are set to 100% during the daytime schedule. The few white channels on the light peak at 60% throughout the day. Find me on IG (V.altam) and I'll send you the project file.
How much temperature does the fans lower 2.3.4🤷my tank is at 30 I would like to buy but I don't know how much they lower to keep it at 24👌
The cooling potential of fans in-general depends on the room temperature, room humidity and hot much heat is being thrown back into the tank from pumps and lights. Unfortunately there's no straight answer, but on my tank I've been able to get a 3 degree pull down with 6 fans in a room that averages 72 degrees.
I love ghl, everything is luxurious, congratulations 💯👌
Thanks for the kind words!
Excited to upgrade!
Ok so now these clusters are must upgrade now. I love the color after the upgrade!!!
They look great, even with all channels at 100%. :)
Do you use a desiccant on the Poseidon or just draw room air?
Air is fed into the Poseidon using a small air pump. That's what the Avast Ozone Kit came with when I picked it up.
You think I could use the color elements along with ESV two part?
Yes, most definitely. Just don't go putting them in your ESV containers. It's meant to be dosed separately. I've used Color Elements for several years and have found it to be very helping in giving corals that extra bit of color.
@@TheAcroReef425 yeah that’s what I plan on doing. When I look at the ingredients I notice it doesn’t have strontium in it. Are you dosing this separately? Also what kind of caps you have on the color elements so you place dosing tubes inside of them
@@garycumbo1092 I do add 'Fauna Marin Elementals Strontium' when my ICP test shows that the tank needs it. Otherwise, the bottle sits idly until I need it again. As for the caps, I just drilled a 1/4" hole in the original caps and dropped the tubing into the bottle. To prevent the tube from curling, I put a piece of rigid acrylic tube at the end of the tube so it is always straight.
@@TheAcroReef425awesome I’m considering doing my 50 gallon cube to be sps dominated the tank is 24x24x20 just trying to figure out if I should do a branch aqua scape or all base rock
Those corals pop so much! I can't wait to get a tank.
It takes a lot of time and effort, but it's worth it in the end!
What kind of rope is that for your dosing tube?
It's 1/4" braided sleeving that I picked up from Amazon. They come in several different colors too!
Can you share your mitras setting ? plz thanks
Sure, send me a message on IG and I'll send it over.
stunning reef!
Thanks!
Had no clue this existed. I also have been curious but never took a chance because the fear of it. Now id feel way more comfortable with this kit. Thanks for sharing! 🙌🔥💯👌
No problem! The Avast Reactor alone has done a great job with carefully adding Ozone to the water. When I heard about the add-on kit, it was a no-brainer to get it and make things a little safer because...why not? :)
Wow the attention to detail is incredible. The GHL automation really seems to be leaps and bounds ahead of other aquarium controllers. What kind of learning curve is it to program the sensors and functions? Do you need to know coding to do the programing? I am tech savvy but I lack programming knowledge. What kind of time frame did it take to get to your current set up? Thank you for sharing much appreciated. I am in the planing stages for my dream set up. I am considering either a water box peninsula 7225 or a Cade peninsula 1800. I want the tank to have dynamic dosing and auto water changes as well.
Thank you! I will say that what's in the tank now for automation was a steady progress. The initial setup was pretty straightforward, and I don't think you have to be technically savvy to set it up. It took me about 2 full years to get the "core" of my automation goals completed. That includes testing devices (KHD / IOND), fan control, backup measures, etc. The AWC part of it was implemented about 1 year into the tank startup. ATO was done on day 1. Calcium, Alkalinity, Mag dosing about 3 months in. If you haven't settled yet on which controller to get, consider this... The best thing you can do for yourself is have a clear goal and plan in-mind before jumping into any controller. You can do a whole lot with controllers and it's fantastic, but when you get it, if no clear plan has been defined ahead of time, it's going to get overwhelming quick! That applies to all controller brands! Read the documentation and product pages, get some kind of understanding of what YOU want out of a controller, consider what expansion options are doable (but don't focus too heavily on reading about it if it doesn't apply to what YOU want today) and define a clear goal for yourself BEFORE jumping in an getting one. Reading about them on forums is nice and all but take what you see there with a grain of salt. Also, ask yourself what is the single most important thing you look for in a controller? For me, it was reliability above all. I couldn't care less about pretty interfaces and neither do the fish. Correct me if I'm wrong, but fishes are more appreciative of equipment that is tried, true and tested to be reliable. :) My controller search ended in 2006 when I asked myself who had the longest track record for reliability. That's how I found GHL and their ProfiLux 2...years later I've gone and upgraded to the current ProfiLux 4 and Dosers and couldn't be happier. When I first setup the P2 controller, there were barely any how-to videos and guides out there. Nowadays, you have a lot to choose from. Setting up dosing schedules, timers, probe controls are done with drop-down boxes. Probe calibration is also straightforward since it can be done through the app. I never had to learn any level of coding even when I had the ProfiLux 2 back in 2006. :) You can't go wrong with either tank options! I'm excited for you. Take your time with the equipment part of it. If you want to get into a controller, just start with the basics (temp control and pH monitoring), all else can come later down the road. Best on your new tank journey!

Just stumbled upon ur channel and I’m loving it. Great work man I’m really diggin your setup/channel 🤙
Thank you!
Great in-depth video of your system, are you an electrician or data analyst by profession by any chance. 🤷♂️😂
Hey thanks for watching. I'm neither, but 20 years of being in the hobby really helps. :)
Everything dialed....except the smoke detector lol....
The more bases covered the happier the reef. 😅

Absolutely brilliant mate alot of effort but it all pays off well done mate
It's 100% worth the effort! Thanks for watching.
There’s something to say about having redundancy. You have an excellent set up going on there. Was a pleasure to watch
Hey, glad you enjoyed it! A lot of time went into the planning stage and it was well worth it. 🙂
Beautiful!!
Thank you! 😊
You must have some kind of professional Engineering background. Fully automated reef tank is very rare in home reef aquatics hobbyists. Thanks for posting. I am inspired to level up my refining skills.
Haha! Thanks for the kind words. 😅
Strange to see no red sea bashing comments. That's all you see in the forums. Beautiful aquarium and setup.
Thanks! Their G2 is very well built. Having the armored seams really makes a difference!
Excellent tank tour video... very well done!!! Thank you for posting!!!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!
How do you like the ion director? I haven't heard much buzz around it anymore. Great episode 🙌 👏👏
I like it a lot! It has been accurate for me since day 1 and its results line up with the ICP results from Fauna Marin's lab. Being able to log results and have the P4 auto-adjust my Calcium and Magnesium is a nice touch.
Sub’d. Would love to see a review of the IOND!
Sure, I can whip something up. 🙂
How did you make up the light mount system? I’m looking to making something similar for my reefi uno pros
I made it using 80/20 Inc aluminum extrusion. They should have a store on ebay where you can put together the parts to make a custom light mount. What I used is the 1515 series (black).
Very Nice! NASA would be impressed.
Thank you!
Very cool man! Great tank and solid equipment
Thanks 👍
